Lizardfolk Cove - buff boss + shortcut
-
The boss on this quest is way too easy to kill. A large group takes it out without it even having time to land a hit.
I would suggest to give it more HP.
oooh and please add a shortcut, pretty please! quest does not have one so, long way back.
-
@shadowfax I agree with this, same situation with the boss on hullack Forest walk as well. The great wyverns and cyclops chieftains you run into on that quest would eat the boss for breakfast
-
Regarding lizard folk cove boss;
Pretty sure I watched this boss kill a player inside two rounds alittle while ago.
-
@lord_acererak it has very scary poison.
-
I believe it spams improved KD, too.
I agree its HP could use a boost tho.
-
your (second!) funeral!
-
What can I say, I like pain.
-
I actually kind of agree, the boss could use a bit of an hp increase. Not by too much, maybe 30-40 hp or so
-
I'd look at the Improved KD spam and compensate with HP.
Can HP scale based on party size?

Not that I know of.
-
@sparr0w Not by default, and not in a standard way.
There's a couple ways though -
- custom scripting
- Multiple versions of the boss with different stats, then have the system scale based on the CR of the party via the encounter trigger (built in)
So, it can be done yeah.

You volunteering?

@prof-misclick I could make a custom script, but honestly, it's probly better for DM's to just, make three versions of any boss they make, and then add each to the encounter, set them all as unique, and then set mix/max creatures spawned to 1.
That'll then choose the most appropriate according to... biowares... logic (which is ok, I guess)

CAVEAT:
All of what I am saying is theoretical, and just feasibility of what -could- be done.
What does actually get done, is a totally different situation, this is just a discussion.
(As with basically all of my posts unless they say "We are doing this") -
we had a large party so it really got squished in a few rounds.
The scaling monster sounds nice! -
