Thanks @CrystalRL for setting this up
I've heard a couple times that folk have logged in and no one is on. I'd like anyone willing to put down their normal play schedule that they can commit to be logged on for. Might be that with a bit of planning and coordination, there will be people on together.
Just a thought. I am still too erratic at work for hard commitment but watch on the #general channel because I'll be announcing when I am IG and available to run stuff or events. Also, make sure everyone has a look at the posts from certain DMs that have set aside times for events.
Cheers.

GMT +2 Weekdays between 1800 and 0000. Weekends are erratic depending on if I'm out and about or if I'm being a homebody. This will change the second week of November when I go back to night shift.
-
I plan to make a char and rejoin server myself. Sadly, I work three shifts and that makes me a bit difficult to participate in such plans.
However, if something solid is agreed upon, I'd keep it in mind and try to organize around it - with some priorities over gaming, naturally. -

In theory, I have it set up so you can select multiple two hour blocks during the week when you are available - ignore the dates at the top. When you get to the "poll", change from Table view to Calendar view.
It should also auto-convert the time zones.
-
@crystalrl Great. Thanks. I'm putting this link into the original post.
-
Yeah, that's MUCH easier to see.
My home timezone is EST (New York). Is it converting the times for you guys? It should mention something about the time zone at the bottomish. -
@latoksinned Did you mean to only fill in one day for availability? Your only slot is Wednesday.
-
I’ll get more in there, I was just really busy
-
10am-5pm saturdays new york time (eastern daylight time -4 gmt)
-is 7am pacific time, ie the west coast of the USA (3 hours earlier)
-it's 3pm-10pm gmt ie in England, with European times near to this
-in Japan it's utc +9, which should be +14h right now, so midnight to 7am of the Sunday ahead (strawman)
-in the phillipines it's UTC +8 or plus 13h (Thune)
-in sydney australia it's utc +11 or 2am to 9am of Sunday of the following day
-in Christchurch, New Zealand, it's utc +13, or 4am to 11am of Sunday of the following day
This may not work for everybody, or the normal COA regulars
but being in the middle of the weekend, the hope is to be able to catch your average crowd of people with work or school during the week, on a time on the weekend that suits most of the available timezones with a demographic that are playing.
Japan, Australia, and New Zealand get screwed a bit, and Hawai'i; but North America (and central and south america) and Europe (and Africa) end up mostly being coordinated not too badly.
I think people are probably better off co-ordinating with specific players and dm's (maybe the doodle poll that crystalIRL suggested?) for playing during the week, which might conflict with work/school/life and family commitments more... I know for people with families, weekends are pretty busy/ hit or miss too, and sometimes regulars find during the week a better time to play.
So if you are advertising events where you want to grab new players, this might be a prime spot to hit the north american and european crowd, at least...

Also, just to remind people that this thread exists:
-
Generally, I can be in game any time from 7pm -1am GMT+1 most days unless real life demands otherwise. Weekends also give me some extra wiggle room for late morning and afternoon log ins.

Some dm's that I think are currently doing a "book a dm" are:

https://nodebb.cityofarabel.com/topic/43175/book-an-echo
https://nodebb.cityofarabel.com/topic/11625/book-a-puffy
as a note, I believe @King-Dobby made a relevant note to some problems with the 'book a dm' model, that people might want to consider in order to make sure the server stays accessible to everyone, etc:
https://nodebb.cityofarabel.com/topic/20636/remove-scheduled-events-book-a-puffy-etc
I thought @MrMoloch did one but I couldn't find it.
I think @SpiffyMeister and @Hominid have some listed, but aren't currently offering so I won't link them right now. -
From this link:
https://nodebb.cityofarabel.com/category/25/playing-times
I wonder if the players and DM's who are currently active might like to update this, so they appear at the time/ most recent entries, etc?
I think if you just edit your post and resave it (for unpinned players) it should change the post date and put you to the top of the post lists, etc.
Maybe DM's could link their 'book a DM' page links in their entries here?
-
Updated times, ignoring dates.
Issue however, the blocks are 2h a time, so for the the 6-8 pm one, please note I can be there only at 7h.
Thank you.
