Undisarmable mobs
-
There are some creatures who are not disarmed even when hit successfully. Is this a bug or a NwN hard coded thing?
-
Its a setting per creature so might be intended.
Just list here the relevant creatures. Exact names. -
Getting exact names is a bit difficult with the harder mobs, sorry in advance. Off the top of my head however I believe Various kinds of Frost Giants are not disarmable, and the orcs on the event yesterday were not disarmable. I believe the orcs are the same ones that can spawn around Tilverton. The stronger variants. I believe they all have "mountain" in their name or something. They carry two handed axes and halberds and such.

Frost Orc Slusher
Frost Orc Cornice
Frost Orc Thawer
Frost Orc Dendrite
(All the Frost Orcs that spawn with the Grizzly Bears in areas like the Stormhorns) -

Made mountain orcs disarm-able

Changes live 8333
Frost giants is debatable if a little human would be able to disarm them... lol

@Puffy For comparison, both cyclops, and ettins can be disarmed(maybe hill giants too), though they're naturally resistant to it due to high strength scores and skill investments. The question is, is it relatively believable that something the size of a human can whack something out of the hand of something as big as a giant? I think so. Holding firmly onto something that gets whacked hard hurts like hell.
It's a shame though that the disarm system for NwN uses your attack roll for the check rather than a strength check or something. Because then it means the more accurate you are the better chance you got to disarm, not strong.
I think it has to be vs attack roll though, because any attribute check is going to fail vs an invested skill check, and if you used damage instead of the attack roll, disarms would be twice as effective.

Bramble.

@Puffy Strife requested that I get the exact name of the creatures when I can. This one is called Bramble. It's a small little fey creature that spawns on the Barrenstone quest.

That helps :)
-
@Puffy Well yeah, but aren't all the creatures in a directory anyways? I GUESS I'll add in what/where the creatures are too. :P
-
Attack roll? I guess that explains why Cori has yet to succeed in disarming anything with her whips. I guess it's ok if that is a high AB thing, though having some kind of option for a more DEX- or skill-based approach to disarming someone could be neat, too.

they are but knowing what category they are certainly narrows down the search
-
If you said
"Another creature is called Bramble" probably would have worked.
Areas are probably handy (thought not always due to how the spawning system works) if it's on a quest, it definately helps to find them.
The name should be plenty, I think it was just because this name is actually also just a word, so could have been interpretted as a random post.
