Air Eleementals Element

Air elementals
After a conversation in general regarding them was asked to make a bug report to look into them doing lightning dmg and being immune to it as well. Other hostile spawns of air elementals seem to be immune to lightning but not the summons.
-
Personally think all elementals should be 100% immune to their own element, and 100% vuln to their opposing element.
Fire immune to Fire, vuln to cold.
Water immune to cold, vuln to fire.
Earth Immune to acid, vuln to lightning.
Air immune to Lightning, Vuln to Acid. -
I like that idea since my air elementals have a hell of a time with the quest by tilverton and the earth elementals they can never hit them as it is now
-
@zool Water should be vulnerable to lightning.
Air vulnerable to acid
earth vulnerable to fire.
Fire vulnerable to water.
Then it comes full circle'ish, so one element's a counter to the other instead of them being immune/vulnerable to each other. Also in case of earth, they don't do any elemental damage, making them sub par in a air vs earth due to vulnerability if they're directly opposed. -
@madsap Cool idea.
I disagree though, the way above makes direct intuitive sense, which is for me, better.
Earth should do acid damage then (or, they should just be more powerful physically than Air, which I think they are anyway)
-
I prefer madsap's idea. Earth being vulnerable to lightning makes no sense to me. Lightning goes to ground and dies there. Water however, conducts lightning. Why water jet makes sense.
And earth being vulnerable to fire makes sense. Metal comes from earth and you melt it with fire.
-
Water vs Fire
Earth vs AirThis is the classic set up and Zool's suggestion, which I think is best if we stick to.
Sure it doesn't make a lot of scientific sense, but eh.. magic :P

@puffy
Sort of makes sense too in that way, in how the planes are situated around the material plane. Just thought it'd be a better spin to give it a rock-paper-scissor feel to it. -

None of the ways make sense really.
Water conducting electricity, to me, doesn't sound like it's doing a bad thing to water, or vice versa, it sounds like they are helping each other.
Lightning going directly into ground and stopping there, sounds like earth getting hit and taking all the nasty energy right in the face.
Earth being vulnerable to fire doesn't make sense to me, fire just scorches it, it takes massive amounts of fire to get the heat to anywhere near the level needed to melt metal, water boils away pretty easily.
Also water puts out fire so it totally makes sense fire is vuln to it.... (even though I just said fire evaporates it)

Air immune to Lightning, Vuln to Acid.I have updated all elemental skins, summons & spawns to reflect this. Discovered some didn't even have any immunity at all, so lol.
Note this is a trial, please give feedback if you notice this change causing major issues.
Didn't touch the earth elementals bludg immunity

I know this shows as closed but thought I would mention that Air elementals are still dmged by lightning so not sure if this took effect or not. And dunno if you made any changes to the way they looked or not.
