Codex of Conduct; Port Immersea

OOC: The intent of this document is to have a fluid governing of Immersea. Essentially the Mayor is in charge and holds office with a heavy hand, and her reputation as a sailor. A new mayor may write in charges or remove the old laws of the previous mayor. None of the laws may conflict with the Kingdom of Arabel, however the town may choose to not enforce "this or that privately.

If you have more suggestions, send them in. This place encourages drunken fighting, duels of honor or property, and all manner of skullduggery.

Suggested town alignment; Chaotic Neutral due to the ever changing populace and sense of individualism.

Codes of Conduct within Port Immersea
The Codex is a list of bylaws enforced by the Privateers of Immersea with the sport of the acting Mayor who may propose changes as she sees fit, and is considered at large a living document to be abided by all inhabitants of the Port; for better or worse.

Dueling -
A dispute may be settled between Privateers using sword, crossbow, or the preferred method of combat excluding area-affecting magic. The use of area-affecting magic will be considered a magical crime, armed assault, or ever arson which will be referenced in the Kingdom of Arabel Lawbook.

It is customary for the offended party to issue challenge, where the offender would then choose a time and place.

Duels to the death require a non-affiliated observer and are prohibited amongst intoxicated persons. A breach of this ordinance will be viewed as a capital offense in the Kingdom of Arabel [murder].

Spoils are Shared Equal Part -
Spoils of adventure, plunder of any sort, shall be divided evenly as peers after the Kingdoms Due is taken. None may discuss plunder nor spoils until the job is seen through. Breach of this will be viewed as theft in accordance of the Kingdom of Arabel.

Those fallen shall have equal share given to next of kin, delivered by the crew.
Those wounded shall have One-Greater portion and given safe passage to recovery by the crew.
Those who took part are given least pickings and promise of next voyage.

Torches in Warehouses, Torches at Docks -
No unauthorized persons may carry torch nor wield incendiary magics at docks, cargo bay, nor warehouse. To do so would be viewed as anti-revolutionary activity and a fine shall be issued.

Vandalism in Immersea- vandalism, or other disturbances to the public welfare that exceed expected patriotic duty to the Kingdom of Arabel.

Entry of Ships -
Accessing any naval vessel without writ, or captains authority will be viewed as theft, and tresspassing.

Impersonation of a Captain-
ten lashes will be issued to the party impersonating a captain without expressed permission of the naval vessel and its crew.

Self Defense Law -
If attacked unawares, it is the responsibility of the defender to clean up the street and pay debts for repairs. The offending party forfeits whatever loot and plunder to the defending party.

Minor offenses - no more than 150 coins owed.

Failure to Toast -
If a captain toasts his men, or his men the captain, a Hear Hear or Cheers is to answer the call. Failure of this is bad luck, and no less than 10 coins is to be granted to the sea.

Cheats -

If caught with spare cards or bones, 5 coins to be given to the sea, and five new bones made. The game is done.
If two caught at cheats, dispute is settled by legal duel.
If the offending party outranks the offended, a petition may be made for judgement of peers. --- //I understand the vagueness of this, its essentially meant to represent if you catch your boss cheating, you can publicly shame him, but cant really do anything else about it//
