2: Applying for Tiefling
1. Tiefling/ Fighter/ LE/ Vortiger
(Minimal outward indicators, no reflection and hot to the touch, otherwise could pass for a human if careful.)3. Goals:
Vortiger believes himself derived from a distinguished infernal lineage and has all the innate rights of his human counterparts to rule. However, as a realist, he knows he cannot leverage this claim transparently for power. He recognises that to fulfill his ambitions he must align himself with a legitimised noble house. This might involve serving a blueblood figure like Corianne von Dorn in the first instance.
Vortigers aim is to undermine his chosen noble pa/matriarch so as they are a puppet front through which he can realise his birthright.
He will push shadow deals, intrigue, politicking, all perilously balanced on the revelation of his heritage and intentions.
Vortiger seeks to honour the memory of the fallen Duke and his forces by preserving their relics within the temple of Siamorphe, recognising their valour and nobility in the war.
This will require expeditions to Tilverton and the creation of new library records that portray Tilverton in a more positive light. Operating under the belief that history is often shaped by those who emerge victorious, he aims to restore some dignity to the fallen faith.
These are stepping stones towards Vortiger's ultimate ambition:
To liberate Arabel from the grasp of the Queen's court, weakening her authority and establishing a Court of Nobles to preside over Arabel.
5. Bio:
Vortiger, a devout follower of Siamorphe raised in Arabel, believes in the supremacy of the strong and the power in lineageWitnessing the chaos of Gondegal and the destruction of Eveningstar and Tilverton, he deems Arabel weak under a foolish monarchy.
After surviving the war against Tilverton and sensing a stirring in his blood, he returns to Arabel, driven by a sense of purpose to seek out a destiny he does not yet comprehend, but knowing that the weak need a strong noble ruler, one worthy of claiming the throne left vacant by the fallen Duke.

Am I the only one who sees these as a contradiction?

portray Tilverton in a more positive light
Also, he does realize that the "siamorphe church" of tilverton was an infernalist group, not somehting a "devout follower" would support.

Fully agree, makes no sense. Also, why would a LE tiefling all about nobility work with such an agent of chaos and failed nobility like Corianne? lol

Quite, and as a tiefling of "siamorphe" and "tilverton", he's kinda fast tracked for execution

I dont care much about the execution part, but the religion connection... doesnt connect. As a Fighter class, it really doesnt matter who his deity is, not like with a cleric/paladin.

(Minimal outward indicators, no reflection and hot to the touch, otherwise could pass for a human if careful.)Absolutely not. Subraces are visible, known, and obvious. We require the player to pick some distinct characteristic and make it apparent in the description
3. Goals:
Vortiger believes himself derived from a distinguished infernal lineage and has all the innate rights of his human counterparts to rule. However, as a realist, he knows he cannot leverage this claim transparently for power.Fine
He recognises that to fulfill his ambitions he must align himself with a legitimised noble house. This might involve serving a blueblood figure like Corianne von Dorn in the first instance.
Player focus fun
Vortigers aim is to undermine his chosen noble pa/matriarch so as they are a puppet front through which he can realise his birthright.

He will push shadow deals, intrigue, politicking, all perilously balanced on the revelation of his heritage and intentions.
N/A- He is going to be known as a tielfing from day one. However the exact nature of his bloodline could be fun to develop and learn in gameVortiger seeks to honour the memory of the fallen Duke and his forces by preserving their relics within the temple of Siamorphe, recognising their valour and nobility in the war.
Might be fun. Would have to get buy in from the player base though since there is a lot of OOC hatred, for whatever reason, toward the Duke. Regardless of the notable things he did that we revealed. Might be a lost cause ICly because of that. This will require expeditions to Tilverton and the creation of new library records that portray Tilverton in a more positive light. Operating under the belief that history is often shaped by those who emerge victorious, he aims to restore some dignity to the fallen faith.
Might be possible if he plays up the Duke was a victim. Manipulated by the Black Chalice Infernalist (which is true) and the church of cyric going crazy with the undead (player agency)

5. Bio:
Vortiger, a devout follower of Siamorphe raised in Arabel, believes in the supremacy of the strong and the power in lineageLE SIamorphe is legit. And this will put him immediately at odds with House Cormaeril and the Siamorphe pcs (who are definitely good leaning even with the LN alignments)
Witnessing the chaos of Gondegal and the destruction of Eveningstar and Tilverton, he deems Arabel weak under a foolish monarchy.
Fluff but fun
After surviving the war against Tilverton and sensing a stirring in his blood, he returns to Arabel, driven by a sense of purpose to seek out a destiny he does not yet comprehend, but knowing that the weak need a strong noble ruler, one worthy of claiming the throne left vacant by the fallen Duke.
Fluff but fun as an overall outlook that drives the character and shapes the goals.
Will not vote yes unless there is a change to obvious tiefling lineage. Depending on the player’s desires for the concept this might make it a non starter.
I voted no as the entire goal and bio section may end up being redone by the player to meet the subrace requirement and align with what they want to do.

I'll feed it back to them. I feel like there is potentially something good there. But it needs a re-work.

The entire point of the Black Chalice "Heresy" was that in a sense, it was a legitimate interpretation of Siamorphe's dogma.
My view on the Church of Siamorphe, that unlike most other gods, Siamorphe as a title, is passed down through her descendants, much like how a King or Noble passes their title to their heirs.
Morvyn was a legitimate heir to the title of Siamorphe, and by virtue of this, could access the divinity in the title of Siamorphe, and thus, bestow clerical powers onto his followers.
He was trapped in hell by the original Siamorphe, but with the Silence, the devils felt the contract by which they confined Morvyn could technically be breached if he inherited the title, and thus, they concocted a scheme to free him by letting him become the true Siamorphe, thus, making him a god on the Prime, bypassing the Silence, and having a god who owed them a solid and also could spread their influence- a deity who could guide their followers directly was no doubt a trump card.
He was defeated, the scheme foiled, and Hell is moving onto other dastardly schemes.
I got zero interest in continuing this plotline.
No from me.

Spiffy has some good points to consider. Plot is done. Black Chalice lost and was destroyed. Next

I dont know what the protocol is but Sarevok has taken on the feedback and want to re-submit with revisions.
-
Likely best to do a resubmission.
- No hidden sub race
- Black Chalice/ specific devil prince associated with it are destroyed
- Existing goals will need to be re imagined
-
Sure. I've put up the new version. This can be closed
