Strange Fragments

rades, Servants of the Black...
I come to you with a plan, a plan to change Tilverton and the Kingdom forever.
As you know, the Bishop of Eveningstar and his wretched Tymoran allies have taken it upon themselves to strike us. Not once, but twice. Thus far, we've done our duty and maintained peace, prospering our town and paying our dues to the Ghost King and his city. I have come to you with a plan to orchestrate great change and elevate our humble city into a bustling power know we already see ourselves as. This plan will take each of you to come to fruition, and force Arabel to see us for what we truly are; their betters.
Step One; Escalation
First, we must provoke Eveningstar into striking us, even if this means losing a few caravans or Ravens, we must twist their arm into striking first to legitimize our eventual cause, and sway the people to join our side as a means to end the war. The narrative must be controlled at all times by us. Thus, I propose stealing numerous Purple Dragon uniforms, and burning the Flour Mill of Eveningstar.
Ravens will also dress as "Champions of the Light" in Orange, sunbleach, whatever horrible colors they prefer with Lathanderite flags, and attack Cormyrean patrols in the Kings Wood.
This will create a narrative that Cormyr is prodding at Arabel, and the Bishopric is having trouble maintaining a defense against them, and of course, they will continue to blame Tilverton and the Ravens.
Step Two; Creating a Pandemic
We, Tilvertons' Ravens, offer to maintain the border between Cormyr and Arabel. We may make this motion through the Council. It will be denied, but we must show the powers that be that we are willing to aid. We must maintain control of the narrative, we want to assist the Crown and maintain PEACE.
Arn - As many of you are aware, there have been various gems 'created' or 'found' by Meil and Councilor Blythe, it has come to my attention that these gems can be used to siphon lifeforce for energy. I want to discover a means off masse production cheap knock offs, then of course, sell them.
Make them addictive, and offer them to our friends.. All of our friends.
I will speak to the Precept Arcanum about getting their supposs any Lathanderite items on jobs and such that can be left after these attacks on patrols in the Kings Forest to provide further incrimination.
We could also "encourage" Grete to sign a confession that the Temple of Tymora was hired by Eveningstar to attack the Caravan.
We also need to cost Evuit of Purple Dragon Padded armour on a job, Its in the com
gaudy golden armour, a golden halberd and a chalice of lathander, They are in the communal storage as well.
Might let someone pass as a warrior of Lathander
Pierrehield and a helm that looks to be of their faith. I will add them to the storage too.
I will endeavor to find the secret to thesure it appears to hold fire based magics such as fireballs or a wall of flame.
This should suffice for starting the fireut the tempan fire item in storage along with another suit of padded purple dr
to the troll bog to try and retrieve some.

use what we have found.
Perhaps some event like a tournament or Alexander could host a concert to promote the Dull one of the guards and leave him with the caravan men. Lock my arms up to a long board, beat me a bit, burn a lathanderite symbol on my face, and point me east to see the sunrise. Kill the second guard off a ways to indicate he died as the rest of his band flees. (Arrows in the back ect.). Take some loot place one thing on him easily identifiable "Good thing you came when you did Warden.... they did horrible things to me.... could have been much worse." Warden is a hero. I am a bit worse for wear but I am sure you will a
missing the quietest.
-RawenReally going to play up unity on the council..... going to have to practice at acting to play the role of betrayed peace maker.
Pierre, don't youtwo Tilverton voices on her precious little council.
Don't screw this up.

We could obtain some more or use a few things we have in storage and have Lorenza put a Talontar curse on them or perhaps Riversnow could taint them some way and then give them to Blhave spoken with Lorenza about the possiblity of her poisoning Eveningstars crops with Talonas blessings
She seems open to the idea
Pierrebers of the faith. One of their own was given a summoning book and convinced to call forth Angels to become a hero. The Woman had red hair and unusual eyes. The guard thought her a Asimar, but could easily have been a teifling.
We came to their "aid", I made sure the city knew by a sending. Also told them Tiverton will not take coin for doing our Duty to protect the realm. Besides, I got payment enough. In addition to the information received about the cause of the issue, I got to see some of their defenses and some of the weak points of said defenses.
Raven Targonmeone to explain themselves for the Caravan or using the Talonites against the
th Lorenza earlier and gave her two Lathanderite chalices to see if they can be tainted, If they can we should have the Talonites taint the rest of the ones we have, And then we can gift them to Blackwood.
If they cause prob"to show good faith" Then sprinkle in the tainted ones on the next delivery.
Perhaps the prospect tha
an opportunity rather than a hindrance.

Brothers, sisters,
First order of business. I have read through the fragments provided. If they are indeed fragments from the files of the Ravens, then we have a serious threat to our village upon us. I shall speak with Mr. Pendleton to find out what more I can regarding their plans.To ensure that no imposter can infiltrate our ranks or disguise themselves as one of our own, I propose that the security word "Chalice" is used.
If there is truth regarding a poisoned chalice within the Temple, I propose we investigate this further. If one is located, then next order of business would be to get in touch with the Wild Walkers, and learn why some of their Circle are now attacking Eveningstar, and taking part of conflict between Tilverton and Eveningstar.
Dawnsquire Blackwood, could there be more than one Raven on the council of Peers at present? If so, I propose we "smoke them out".
How we can arm ourselves better, I have already proposed this in another file, regarding recruiting allies amongst the travelling paladins and holy servants in the area.

By Lathander's Luxurious Legs!
Can this actually be true? I thought we were all working together! Rumours and notes are one thing, but there she does seem to be a lot from this Mister Pendleton fellow. Though he seems like a stranger to us. How can we verify that what mister Pendleton gave to us is true or not?I know EveningStar and Tilverton have butted heads in the past, but an open war would only bring destruction to the people. Before we start accusing Tilverton and taking action against them, we had best get all of our bulls in a row!
Let's check our supplies for poison. And let us speak with these Talona worshippers ourselves to learn the truth. The god of decay has no place here, and there's no rot that Lathander's power can't overcome. The only Talonite that I would ever tolerate is the one who works to keep the Lady of Poison's disease at bay.
In the meantime, I have heard rumors that the King and Queen have had twins! To celebrate their birth, I am going to embark on a series of quests around the kingdom, using Lathander's might to defeat many strong and dangerous foes, and shall send them a trophy as a gift for each!

The Town shall be thoroughly searched for poison or other vile effects, both of you have done well.

I have continued digging into these rumors. The attack against us by summoning a slaad a few days back, was conducted by the raven called Arn. The druidess Lorezza is a witness, and should be able to confirm. But she has already informed the wild walkers of this information, or so Miel the druid said.
Evelyn

Also! The fragments speak of the incursion of heavenly bodies that were tricked into attacking EveingStar as well.
Also also! An undead summoning to the plane of shadow was also discovered in the Southhorn. I do not believe these three instances to open portals to the outer realms to be separate from one another. Something foul is afoot!
If this is to be believed, then convincing the wild walkers to testify on our behalf about what Tilverton has asked them to do will go a long way!

@Lord_Acererak
The content has finally been verified. I had talks with Lorenza the druidess, which was amusingly enough witnessed by Arn of the Ravens.We duelled back and forth on words, and Arn is clearly a skilled deceiver, he is very trustworthy. I had nothing, but as I walked them out of the village, I let slip that I did not have the chalice. Lorenza became paranoid, and the entire shadow play fell through as if the sun burst through the clouds on a stormy day.
Lorenza was hired or motivated by the Ravens of Tilverton to create a powerful ritual in our fields, likely to damage our crop. She had created an artifact deep within the Hullack forest, creating a potent weapon. But as the ritual took place, something went wrong, and said ritual is now the cause of the slaad infestation. I am not the most schooled, but even I know that slaads and druids do not go hand in hand.
She is rightfully scared, and desperate to undo the damage she has no doubt caused. The cup was given to one of our knights, do we know which one?
She admitted guilt and she admitted Tilverton put her up to it. She now seeks to atone, and that I shall not deny her.
Whomever is representing us on the 12, please see our verification of the attack on Eveningstar, by Tilverton, comes to the attention of the 12 and our King. It is due time we fight back.

@o-louth said in Letter: Ravens of Tilverton:Pierre, Arn, Kincaid and the rest of the Ravens,
Shame on you! Shame on you, as you, while we bleed and fight to protect your lands, that you have the audacity to attack us in the shadows. Shame on you, to attack our People, Our lands. Shame.As you read this missive, a herald of Eveningstar is headed to the Palace, and the Council of 12, with the evidence we have now gathered regarding your vicious attack upon our town, our lands, our people.
Two squires were dispatched to secure your trade routes from bandits. 8 bandit lords are dead by our aid. And yet you attack us in the cover of darkness, seeking to spread famine and plagues upon our people? Shame.
While the King decides what punishment and what consequences your attack shall have, this is our demands.
- Tilverton will supply EVERY single grain lost to your actions, to ensure our people do not starve because of it
- You will move heaven and high water to as quickly as possible, undo the damage caused. You will spare no resource, you will leave no stone unturned, and you will not rest until this matter is resolved
- You will, out of respect and as penance to Lathander, allow the church of Lathander to preach within the lands of Tilverton, -and- set up an ourdoor shrine in the city, attended by a priest of the church of Lathander, so that any citizen of Tilverton can pray to the sun without fear of retribution.
Finally, you will bring the Raven responsible to Eveningstar, alive, to pay for his transgressions, and accept and respect any punishment decided by his Lordship the bishop.
That is the price for peace.

Squire Blackwood, please let us know what the Council of 12 have to say regarding these attacks. If you are too busy to handle it yourself, let me know and I shall happily present it to the 12.Evelyn

@o-louth
Tilverton are hunting the spy who stole the fragments. Pendleton came to me, scared for his life. So to help him save his life, he asked that I accept a duel from him, and if I could stomach it, that I would lose.While I dislike the shadow games, I evened the odds between the bard and myself, and he did the rest, besting me with ease, and the use of mind magic.
I worded the terms carefully. I would not raise a sword against a member of the Raven, unless they attack us again. And I would remove the posters. I did just that. And I will just have to find something else to beat them with, if needs be.

Misrim killed the leader of the Ravens, in a farce like display of justice, to try and place the blame of all of this on him. Sir Myrkyr and I just stood there...
I have made our case at the Council of 12, but nothing has yet come of it.

@puffy said in Further conflict between the Astar and Ravens?:
The formee leader of the Ravens was executed for these crimes, no further legal action is planned.
Clerk Johnson
Will we stand for this mockery of Justice Sir Myrkyr? I propose we place a bounty on Arn Targon, to stand trial in Eveningstar.
Stillwater
@Puffy -
@o-louth
An update from the Council of PeersLord Misrim executed the leader of the Ravens, Mr. Calantar, yesterday eve. He did so, after the High Council had been debating behind closed doors, and without informing the Council, prior to the execution. We arrived to find Calantar kneeling, as if he was to be knighted, and with Pierre, Arn and Alexander standing behind him. Lord Misrim announced Calantar a traitor, and killed him.
The High Council will not take further action on the subject, and ignore all the misdeeds of Arn, Pierre and Alexander. Mr. Targon is a skilled diplomat, and is doing all he can to mislead and decieve any members of the Council.
I doubt we will find further justice from Arabel on this matter. So the question becomes, what do we do from here?
Either we take the matter into our own hands, place a bounty on the Ravens, to stand trial in Eveningstar. This will likely create friction between Arabel and Eveningstar, and they find their mockery of justice enough.
Or we seek to remove Arn Targon from the Council of Peers. As Pierre was removed for previous misdeeds, that leaves Alexander to take his seat. And I can honestly say, that shall be an improvement for us, in our struggles.I have already proposed the second option to the Council of Peers, but if you wish to seek other avenues, then I shall act accordingly. I represent Eveningstar, not my self on the council.

The Ravens have paid for their aggressions towards EveningStar by losing their leader, and the curse brought upon our crops has been lifted. This is great news!I do not feel that going after Tilverton and it's people will fix things, rather, we should practice Lathander's teachings. Let us try to renew friendships, and spread Lathander's teachings onto them.
Yes! To this end I propose a tournament of games held in Lathander's honor, hosted within Tilverton's land so that all of its people may bask in the day's celebration. The Ravens are known to be home of tournament winners, but I wonder how they would fair outside the field of combat!

Argun,
An interesting proposal. It would definitely be a path towards taking the high road in this regard. However, being the victim of several beatings by their hand, we shall find a way to... balance the scales evenly, so that it is an actual tournament, and not merely a display of Pierres prowess.Evelyn

The Murrain asked for 50.000 gold pieces, to be bought out of the war. I will not do it. But I cannot stop anyone else from removing them from the lanceboard (chessboard).Stillwater

@o-louth
Lathander teaches us of redemption, growth, and renewal. It is always important to keep these ideals in mind when we make decisions in our day to day lives. However, in order for one to renew themselves, a genuine effort has to be made. That said, the Murrain, those Talona worshipers, do not seem like the kind to be even remotely interested in trying to redeem themselves, and the worship they do spits in the face of Lathander's teachings.-
I don't think they would make a genuine effort to turn to the light.
-
There is nothing stopping them from taking the funds and betraying us, and I'm sure the Duke could outbid us for their services anyways.

Plus they smell bad.

@swifty-willownall
Perhaps we should offer an alternative then? 30.000 gold pieces, to the person or people, who can keep the Murrain off the battlefield.However they choose to handle it, is their business. But keeping them occupied, will suffice.
