NWN:EE is Out Plan?
-
Folks, curious, we have NWNEE out on Steam. Many new players will come in, we should probably switch over soon for a variety of reasons. How soon is too soon, what changes/features may we want to focus on? Is anyone not going to be able to get the update within a few week span? Do you need help? We have some people offering to chip in to help--do you want to help too?
What's the community feeling on this?

At least wait till the intel integrated memory leak issue is fixed, else those of us on regular laptops will crash and not be able to log back in whenever spiffy spawns more than 20 suicide goblins!
-
I'm getting it this weekend.
No I am not helping you get it.
Get a job.
much luv, kham -
Already have it. Good to go.

I have a spare copy or two.. if you’re having trouble affording this I can be a resource. As far as setting up goes though, I’m not very good at that sort of thing.
However, it’s a Steam Game... you should just need to hit download then play!
Moloch are we doing practice servers for stress testing? Can we help?
-
A poll would be handy to set up on this.
I would migrate whenever. -
If you download it will you no longer be able to play CoA?
-
@mr-moloch I haven't looked at it too much, how does NWN:EE and Steam handle multiplayer and needing haks, etc? Is CoA going to have to have everything on the Workshop for installation?

Once we upgrade to EE, you cannot play on EE servers. However, you can have EE on your computer and still 1.69 servers.
The Steam Workshop will have all our haks until the autodownloader for servers is functioning as beamdog promised.

To be clear; NWN and NWN:EE are two different programs. Downloading and installing NWN:EE will not stop you from being able to use NWN and playing on CoA while it is still a v1.69 server.
That said the two programs are not cross compatible. That is to say that once the CoA server is updated to use the NWN:EE client, your NWN will not be able to connect to CoA and you would HAVE to use NWN:EE to play on CoA there after.
Does that make sense?

I'm ready to roll.
-
Okay now I’m confused. We’re gonna need Hakks for NWN EE?
-
@gruffman
It still at it's core functions the same as base nwn. Custom stuff still requires haks.My EE is downloaded and ready to go whenever.
-
Yes. In theory, EE will auto-install the HAKs needed for modules, but you can still manually install them.
-
Now I get it, thanks :3
-
NWNEE downloaded and ready
-
NwNEE ready!
-
ill get it when we change over.
@Mr.Moloch questions though:
will we be able to access CoA via Steam from any computer we have EE downloaded on? (currently i cant play my characters on multiple computers, though i can access CoA from all 3 i have it installed on so have alts on the lesser used ones)
how will the security measures CoA has fit within the steam password system?
all the haks that CoA uses will be placed on steam and downloaded if we require them, automatically? -
I have NWN:EE
I've been a bit disappointed by the graphics though, expected something different.
Now it's just more 'blurry', but I'm sure I can deactivate that option somewhere.
Also, I play on a laptop, and there was some weird graphic bug. My laptop is TOP NOTCH, can run witcher 3. So I hope it's just an option I can click that makes it laggy/graphic glitch.

NwNEE ready for a while now :-)
