Where is our DM team going?
-
I mean the DMs who have left probably just don't want to DM anymore, for whatever reason. It happens, people lose interest.
-
Yeah. I am hoping ((and it most likely is)) that simple.
-
I should add, Strife actually left about two weeks ago, he just didn't say anything until just now. :D
-
I'll just take this Xanax
-
There is a DM Valhalla somewhere I think.
It's full of gin and Van Halen.
-
It's a tough gig. Server was sitting on 32/55 last night though, which was awesome.
-
I just hope they stay in touch. A small part of me believes that they'll come playerside. Just don't want it to be it.
-
They always come back. Just look at caek. :cowboy:
-
You love looking at me, you minx.
-
DMing is a lot of hard work. People come, people go ( I know Moloch and I have come and gone more than a few times already).
Yeah, there's no secret on what happened, though; Gmork and Tinker want to work on their own EE module, Strife has other stuff to do (and quit 2-3 weeks ago, just didn't post then). Nothing gossip worthy, sadly, no DM avatar combat involved with hellballs and dracolich summons.
-
Will there be DM recruiting going on at any point? Or is that done in secret?
-
@lunatichigh There is a time honored tradition of two rules with new DM's coming up.
-
Anyone who ask or hints strongly or flat out ask to be a DM - won't get it.
-
A real life hunger games style challenge overseen by Moloch. If an envelop shows up at your door with an other players username on it - start the hunt.
-
-
@terris I suppose the question "Do you want to be a DM" with a "Yes" and a "No" answer in the feedback form is a trap, then :P
-
@edinsumar It was a method pioneered by myself. Anyone who answers yes is normally banned for a petty infraction in the next two months. Ahh good times.
-
This tracks with what you've told told me-- Uh, what you definitely haven't told me.
-
The question is to gauge interest, nothing more. DM recruitment has always been and will always be a "Don't call us we'll call you" approach, with /very/ good reason.
-
Those who want power are those most unsuited for it...
-
As some leave, others come back. That being said, hi. I'm playing again. May DM again in the future.
People come and go. It's the nature of the server. I wouldn't panic over it.
-
Just so people know there is a very common way for DM's to go.
Either you are a good-sport player who was more focused on helping everyone have fun than winning or you made concepts that got the server excited and showed great leadership and levelheadedness.
Then you would be invited to the DM team usually with the warning "Nothing will ever be the same."
Then after about three months of DMing you wished you could scrub your brain and go back to blissful ignorance.
As a DM I was a strong advocate for the DM team to be open about everything. When players were banned - or DM's left with no explanation - rumors and speculation whirled around. Never good for player or DM morale.
