Muse is in the Hospital
-
Title's pretty self-explanatory, but Muse was rushed to the hospital whereupon it was discovered that there is a large mass on one of her ovaries. It's currently unknown whether it's benign or malignant, but it seems like she's in a substantial amount of pain. I'm sure she'd appreciate it if the server populace took a moment to hope she gets better soon.

Best wishes Muse! :(

Thanks guys. They discharged me .. due to me not having insurance. So it's kind of a waiting and try to find game of doctors atm. I appreciate the support. A lot.
Kind of sucks having adoctor that won't treat you in the -hospital- because he wants to be able to charge you fully by only seeing you in his clinic. -_-.
Either way, home now, heavily drugged, don't mind my typos. :)
-
and… what now?
I bet it would cost a lot more to get an insurance now... good that i live in a country where nearly everyone has insurance. Even if the hospitals are unequipped.Offering a prayer for you today!

do not give up
you may not be able to do the next part, you may need someone to do some searching for you, to find out what type of aid is possible and if there are groups that will step up and aid you in this situation, the other alternative is to get people (relavives, friends and local groups) to see if there is something that can be done, fund raising or pointing you to the right sources where help can be gotten
i am sure there are people on here now who know the American system to the point where some rescources can be found
dig in and ask(this is to those in her support group which includes us), answers need to be found asap, when i had my cancer that caused a histerectomy to remove a fast growing cancer, it was not delayed, i remember the doctor going through his apointment book from the earliest possible date he could get me in, then going page by page backwards, and moving his finger from appoinment to appointment, saying "this can be delayed" he did this till he got a date only a couple weeks from that visit (we have a decent system as far as being free, but the delays if you fall through the cracks here are fatal)
i am not sure what cancer you have (and my thoughts and prayers are with you) but dig in and get people looking. my sister delayed in getting the proceedure done (this type of cancer does run in our family) because she was determined to have a child, she did not have a child nor is she with us today (2008…almost 5 years now)
here is hoping and praying you do not have a fast moving cancer, but even the slower ones demand immediate attention...so
anyone who can please point her in the right direction locally, i will see if i can find anything on the internet, but all of us can do those type of searches, i suspect it may be something where local knowledge may prove beneficial
what ever research you can do..try to do it, but with the stress and pain you will be undergoing you will need help from others if that is indeed possible locally

slow down!
Noone has said so far that it is a cancer, when i had something like that, the doctors avoided to speak the word 'cancer' and they did it with a good reason.
-
It has already been noted that it is causing pain. If it is causing pain, it is likely doing something bad.
-
Could be nothing more than Ovarian cyst. Those can cause sharp pain. They are 95% of the time benign. So lets not freak out yet and hope for the best.
-
From looking at the video thing they sent me home with (ultra sound video I guess.) It looks like both .. are covered in cysts, but there's also .. necrosis? something, I can't remember the word that pertains to pre-cancer/cancer whatnot. So basically pain meds until I can find a doctor that doesn't have his head up his ass and his eyes lined with $$ signs. We're trying to get me in at Ohio State University which is a really good teaching hospital. Will be posting up dates though as I said when I get them.
<3 you guys a lot.

i hope you get this all sorted out quickly, insurance based health care is so frustrating…
What is the video supposed to show you btw?
on a more positive note, ovarian teratomas are the most commonly found growths on the ovaries and are benign though they can cause problems if they attach to other structures. they are basically caused as the egg cells within the ovaries possess the potential to grow into human beings, this can result in an abnormal growth of cells potentially even forming teeth and hair within the growth. the point there being that the cells have the potential to be anything that you find in an adult.
the largest one ever removed (obviously surgically) was 23 stone (332pounds/150Kg) it accounted for almost half the weight of the patient pre-operation.
