New Domains v2
-
@Notsoslimshady:
I just felt that giving a reroll on failed saves on mind magic to a class with high will saves was too much of a mechanical advantage over some of the other domains is all.
I totally agree 110%…
-
Anyone have any idea what spells a Moon Domain would give? Using NWN spells.
-
Light? Darkness?
-
Moon domain might have close ties to the divination line of spells, due to the nature of the moon's cycles and how it influences the seasons, crops, tides, etc.
-
I can try…
lvl1) Faerie Fire = Continual Light
Lvl2) Moonbeam = Ray of Light
Lvl3) Moonblade = Darkfire (make a version of it with magic damage that only those with this domain can have)
Lvl4) Emotion = Fear
Lvl5) Moon Path = ???
Lvl6) Permanent Image = ???
Lvl7) Insanity = Confusion
Lvl8) Animal Shapes = Polymorph Other (must be a willing ally/party member)
Lvl9) Moonfire = Cone of Cold (should have double damage vs shapechangers, but…)EDIT: No wait... Faerie Fire should be more like Flare, I think. Maybe you can catch a casting of Flare in your spell hook and add a bit to it if the PC has the domain? For example, increasing the duration to 1 round per level of the caster?
-
There should be a faerie fire script in the subrace system. (subrace_inc, or subrace_power, if I remember the names right), that coudl be linked onto flare (or whatever else).

Well, early testing is going well.
I'm sad to say that Sap, even after editing the 2da won't work properly, so Suffering [Pain] Domain needs a different feat.
I'm still contemplating a Cold and Moon Domain. DMs and maybe a few players will be testing out builds over the next few days to a week. If all goes well, this can be live by next week or within a fortnight.
Barring unforeseen craziness on my end or a major unforeseen bug.
-
Here's a suggestion, inspired by the previous post.
Moon
Lvl1: Ultravision (Makes sense)
Lvl2: Searing Light (Moon Beam)
Lvl3: Greater Magic Weapon (Moon Blade)
Lvl4: Fear (Emotion)
Lvl5: Confusion (Insanity)Feat: Favored Enemy Shapechanger
(If possible such a thing is possible, Turn Shapechanger) -

What exactly is wrong with it? I remember it works fine given to monsters, though…

I'm now leaning towards:
@Moon-Fog:
Level 1 Clarity
Level 2 One with the Land
Level 3 Neutralize Poison
Level 5 Owl's Insight
Level 7 SunbeamTurn Lycanthropes
It has to be called Moon-Fog as that is the only element in the .tlk file that is even close to suitable.
@Cold:
Level 1 Ray of Frost
Level 4 Ice Storm
Level 6 Cone of ColdResist Cold -/5
-
Replace Ray of Frost with Ice Dagger at level 1, and give Turn Elementals?
-
Will this be able to insta-gibb PC lycans?
-
I'd have to add in functionality to catch PC lycanthropes, but that can be done just like we have Turn Undead hit PC undead.
-
I still need to add in COLD and MOON-FOG Domains, and Suffering [PAIN] had its bonus feat replaced with Toughness because editing the 2da for Sap Feat still didn't change how it worked.
-
I agree that Slippery Mind is too much seeing as Clerics have high will. Considering the feat is meant to help rogues with one of their main weaknesses(Mind spells, low Will), and Will is a strength of clerics. Otherwise Martial Weapon Proficiency for Metal is powerful. I like the idea of feats that give the domain choice flavour.
-
Martial isn't really so powerful.
-
@Bolthor:
Martial isn't really so powerful.
Its pretty good for a cleric, especially for free with a domain. I think its cool for Metal domain.

It's actually weaker in the source material (where taking the feats for proficiency only unlocks one weapon) instad of nwn's Feat = All Weapons thing. Though that does counterbalance out that nwn doesn't let you use unproficient weapons.
-
Is there an updated version of the new domain list to be seen?
-
Is there any possibility to change the description of the new domains in the character creation menu? Right now they do not spell out the different feats, spells, abilities, skills, etc. they grant. Would be quite helpful.
