To play as a minor son of the mossmere family. No real chance of inheriting anything save maybe a small stipend of coin

Geran mossmere is a minor son of the mossmere family and knows that compared to his siblings such as Eskil or his sister Radella, he is not the most explosive wizard. He is skilled in illusions and divination, and is fond of alchemy and learning mechanics. It’s wifey known that Geran learned to pick a lock before he learned to cast a cantrip. Despite this, Geran is eager to see his house prosper like any good son and cement his own name in the history of Arabel. Only in his own way. Being somewhat of a maverick, Geran tends towards unconventional means of ensuring his success and is not above rubbing shoulders with criminal elements as needed. In fact if it means a new book of forbidden lore to read Geran is willing to do almost anything.

Geran sees the recent loss of the Lower House as a chance to subvert the vacuum of power left in the alleyways and set up a more conventional gang that can act as a cats paw to ensuring that Mossmere Holds influence over the shady parts of Arabel and get him head of a seizable bit of income from not totally legal means. And if needed he can ensure the crown guard gets its chance to get its grips on crime entirely in Arabel and beyond.

Geran will be a sort of anti Ercole. Instead of a cult formation it will be largely focused on criminal enterprise. Gang wars, smuggling and subversion. He would seek to extend the crime empire to immersea in order to help get a hand of influence into the town. But it’s all a ploy to ensure the crown guard can seize control of immersea…with mossmere becoming the new lords of the town naturally. The crime empire is less a crime empire and more an FBI style sort of organization. Geran is also rather fond of the golden feather and wishes to revive that paper as an official satire press/gang of perhaps more willingly to mock everyone in a patriotic way.

Currently I’m playing a cleric but not sure how well it will go and if so wanted to try for this as a ready to go alt to main. I don’t expect anything extra beyond what a crown guard noble app pc might get.

Is this for Crown Guard in addition to background?

Good point, we should probably say that sine they're special positions its very hard to get an app to pass for being related to them?

In general not a fan of setting represented noble house lineage PCs. (Mossmere, Goldfeather, Summerstar). Misrim will all the bastards of bastard is an established precedent so that’s would be alright to me. This alone gets a no vote.

No sons/daughters or really any direct relation. A cadet branch that doesn’t even know or have any connection to the the noble “power” outside a name. With the name though it will open aome doors and make gaining favour of named NPCs a bit easier. So no

Nothing explicitly says he can’t continue with that newspaper thing on a subsequent pc but I’m not in flavour of it either.

I’m general, let’s get the faction officially launched, then players can submit apps and know what they are getting/need etc.

I let the player know it was rejected on the following basis:

Mossmere is a tight knit family and wouldn't let ANY son from the main family go into the Crownguard without due supervision and support (which we were not willing to provide).
You just came off a Mossmere related concept and would prefer to see you do something else.
