Higher Levels

Okay, almost always, after level 9, no one has too much to do.
This sucks.
I understand that being a higher level should tempt more people to get involved with plots, and the like, but sometimes maybe a higher level doesn't know how?I don't know what me posting this will accomplish, probably nothing, but there's room for comments, ideas, and things like that.

plenty of folks need to do expedition outside the city or in the underdark and other dangerous reagions like that. Join them? Heck you might hook on a plot or get fun RP.

Do quests. Talk to people you get to know and trust on quests about plots you know about. Then follow them up.
Failing that, you could complete or work on your character's goals. Once that is done, reexamine if any new ones emerge or make sense. If not, it is time for a new character. Stagnant characters are stale.

Unless you ask to have your loot removed too, not likely. By the time you hit that level, your loot should be too good for lower level quests. Do the higher level quests.

I've been to the Haunted Halls twice, once on my own, once with a group. Been to the Flynn Mountains to hunt Grogg..
Underdark though.. That's something I should attempt. Sounds good.

Believe me, even the Underdark gets stale after the tenth time down there.
At higher levels you can either plot with all the same olds, since most of your plotting buddies and best friends are people you met during quests at lower levels.
Try and squeeze your way into plots through sheer force by higher levels. Like follow groups out of town that aren't going out on a scripted quest. If they say you can't come and attack you, beat them down and keep following. :D
But seriously. Levels and equipment have NOTHING to do with the amount of fun that you have on the server. Unless it's of course that 8 vs. 1 scenario, then yeah, you being high level is fun for everybody.
The way I see it though, if you hit level 10 without having someone FD you beforehand, you're probably doing something wrong! The higher level you are, the more ballsier you're suppose to be when it comes to player conflicts.

Or you're doing something very very right.
You should be able to generate your own plots without having to look around for them long before reaching level 9. Being a highby only gives you more tools to do so I figure.
You've got much more to lose if you die yes, but you can risk pulling off crazier stunts with better odds of success being a highby. So your odds of generating intrigue go way up if you're willing to risk losing that high level of yours.
Honestly I'd rather have a short lived character that left a mark in the memories of players, then a long lived level 12 character that no one remembers the name of so the risk is worth it.

You really should be focusing more on plotting and activities involving other PCs at the higher levels. Everyone notices when you're a high level character and you do nothing. Observers tend to be ignored.
Just go out of your way to talk to everyone you can. Eventually something will stick.

That's exactly what I said though! Well, or at least what I meant.
And when you die in PvP, you don't risk your "high levels", you risk your CHARACTER!

That has nothing to do with high levels though. You can do that at any level! Just because you're high level doesn't mean you should be plotting more. You should be plotting at all levels! Like the Sewer King, he had the title and began forming his Court since level one!
I'm just saying that you should try way crazier and difficult stuff when you're high level, not start "playing it safe and just talk more".

I took a trip earlier into the Rakasha laboratory.
Met three people who I didn't know before. :D
One of which wasn't a player that has been around for long, so he sent me a tell saying he appreciated the trip and learning new ropes and stuff.
I think I want to show lower levels or, maybe a certain type of character around more.

I won't sugarcoat it. Being mediocre at 10th level is way more noticeable than at 6th. Just focus on generating interactions and ideally conflict. The more conflict the better.

And conflict doesn't mean Player Killing!
It means, find something your character wants to do and accomplish that ideally other people may want to work against to achieve something they want.
We have a whole thread about what we want people to do to create Adventure and Intrigue, check that out. By level 10, you should be focusing on that list (ideally, people would focus from the start) but by high levels you will find the DMs begin to approach you about doing more with your character. In return for being able to play one of the more powerful characters on the server, we ask that you contribute some fun back for everyone else.

Start doing something interesting.
Rather than just "existing" as a character in Arabel my advise would be to try and add something to the setting with your character in the way of a story to follow; Form a rebellion against the queen and overthrow the government, Ressurect a dead god, Destroy the universe.
Try imagining you're a DM or a writer for a movie or book, then try and think of what you'd have as the motivation or goal of the main villain, I'm sure you can think of dozens of examples of memorable villains with unique philosophies and aims. Typically a good villain has an interesting goal that gets people on his side and is strongly opposed by a small/large group of people. Most writers in present day don't think of their main villain with an idea like "He's evil, when something evil happens he'll help the evil guy."

Darksied; Bring order to the universe by finding the Anti-Life equasion and using it to destroy the universe, and in the mean time cause order through conquest of weaker planets.
Sorry that all my advise is for villains, but it helps get my point across better. The same principals can be applied to a good aligned character.
