New Crafting System Questions.
-
Will any of the old feats and skill points be supported or transferable?
-
I have dumped a lot of coin in to my current recipes. Will I loose the investment or can a DM convert them to the new system?
-
The new crafting system does not replace the old ones. Potions and wands are still crafted the old way, socketed items are still in place.
The new system is for building weapons and stuff, which will be further expanded soon. Please take a look at the wiki.
-
This is the Link for those of you who are lazy with the implementation of potion/want/gem/socketable items.
Seems rather good.
-
Does the new crafting system take up less space?
-
You mean resource wise for the module?
By my count Vulc's system used 776 scripts, 19 conversation files, 924 item blueprints and 17 placeable blueprints.
The new system uses 5 scripts and 2 placeables.

hah! that was a dumb question >_>

Please tell me customizable ponies are next. <3

Yeah, they are. You can customize them into unicorns.
-
I want to customise my pony into a T-34.

According to the Wiki it says woodworking is the only crafting available right now, I trust metalworking along with other forms of crafting will be added in the future? Nevertheless I am thrilled that CoA has a crafting system again.
-
Yes, more systems are coming in soon.
-
Awesome looking forward to it
-
Just wanted to say thank you for the hard work. Excited for the crafting system. :)

Will there be projects multiple skills are needed for?
For instance, making a bejeweled crown requiring gemcutting and goldsmithing.
-
Maybe. It's likely that something like gemcutting and goldsmithing would be lumped into the same crafting skill.
Once we have 3 or 4 in we might add some really difficult combo recipes to make like, a catapult or w/e
We might also add stuff to make it more economical to work with another crafter. So like the blacksmith can make an axe head for the woodcrafter for half the price of buying it.

@Deadlock:
. So like the blacksmith can make an axe head for the woodcrafter for half the price of buying it.
That makes it all worth it - getting interaction.
or perhaps, only by using multiple skills would the best items be possible.
-
It is neat! Only suggestion I would have is to change the recipe thing. Waiting for a drop from a monster to be able to craft arrows while you know how to craft bolts .. well. Perhaps it could be linked to the crafting skill level? So the higher your skill becomes, the more different things you can craft and a recipe could e.g. give you a bonus?

I am eager to Druids being able to cut some wood.
Or the creation of Leatherworking…
