where do I go when I want to roll back with the beamdog client?

crystal's post descibes how to perform a roll back on steam to allow access to the server until it is updated.
@MattNoto

he doesn't have steam

He's not using Steam though. He's using the Beamdog client.

@joekickass Except that Beamdog does not provide a rollback option. This is because Beamdog does not wish to support v1.69 or older installs going forward, from what I can gather.
So, I guess this means I can't join your little community.
I'm currently at (Beamdog) v 8179 (NWN 1.76).
NWN 1.74 is Beamdog v 8166. So, the issue is definitely an incompatibility between client and server.
This stuff is new to everyone, so I'm not surprised there's confusion and hair-pulling everywhere.
Again, thank you for your time and patience!

I'm using the Beamdog client too, and can log in just fine. But I'm using a .bat file to connect directly to the DM Client so I'm not sure what to suggest for how to connect as a player. I'll look into it.

After the Beamdog update, your server shows as offline. This would lead me to believe the issue is the server, as other servers I've visited are still listed as online.
I assure you we're online.
Have you tried a direct connect using the IP address?Hubby will be updating to the new EE version probably this weekend, time permitted.@zolm said in where do I go when I want to roll back with the beamdog client? [Please lock &/or delete]:

Sweetie, I'll lock the topic when I think it deserves locking. Thanks.

@MattNoto The server will be updated to the new version soon. Sorry you're having so much trouble! Do possibly stop by when we're caught up to the new update.
-
@echo Thanks very much. Perhaps I shall. You seem like nice people to go through this much trouble.
-
@MattNoto Thanks for coming on by and the patience. We're hoping to see you IG soon. Let us know if anything else crops up preventing that but for now, things should be smooth.
Cheers!

aaah bollocks I forgot I typed that, meant to remove it. gah!
-
We are now updated to Beamdog version 8179 (1.76).
@MattNoto give it a try now and let me know, please, if you are able to log in.
Thanks

@echo Oooookay...So, I have downloaded all the haks and tlk file. I have copid them to both the base NWN hak and Beamdog hak folders, and when I try to sign in, I get "missing Hak file". The message does not specify which one.
My error log is empty (but there looks like some port issue, sending screenie of the error log. I remember a similar problem we had on Thain, but not the resolution. Sorry!).
Could you possibly check your server log, look for me signing in (that would be 7/16/18 @ 11:08 EST) and see if the missing hak is identified/associated with my sign-in, i.e. MattNoto?
-
Can you post a screenshot of your hak folder and tlk folder? :)
-
@puffy Absolutely!Be prepared...
-
AHA!
I think I found the issue. Give me 10 mins to have a cup of coffee & wake up some more before I determine for sure -
OK .. I did not find the issue. I thought maybe I left a file out of the 7z files you download, but I just counted them 3 times, and did a comparison checklist, and all 40 of them are present.
Could it be a conflict maybe with all those other haks you have?
Would you be willing to experiment by moving all the other files out, and just having the CoA files in there for testing? (Just move them to another folder, dont delete if you plan to use them again!)
-
@echo Will do.
-
@echo I'm going to ask a stupid, but important, question: when you compiled the list of haks, did you do so using the module's hak folder as a guide, or the "Module Properties" screen from inside the toolset?
Is it possible there's a hak in the mod properties list that is not reflected in the hak folder, and may reside elsewhere?
-
@echo Check the hak list against the Custom Content list in Module Properties in the toolset is what I'm saying. Worth a shot, no?
-
@echo Okay, I have tried with Arabel-only haks in the folder, and I'm still missing one (at least).
So, it's not a conflicting hak from another source.
Check the haks list against the Custom Content tab in the toolset, please.

Just use steam man. It's confirmed to work and prevents needless trouble shooting.
