Or maybe I should fabricate one… With dragons and unicorns and shit.

Find people online who aren't doing anything and ask them to stage a fight against a series of monsters; provide them with potions for the effort. I'm not sure if The Voice has a model the DM's camera can see, but if not, you can use that to take pictures of the fight.
I would include at least a fight against thugs in Old Town, animals in the Hullacks (perhaps even with a druid aiding the animals), and strange creatures in the Ruins.

The guys I played with happened to be quite decent sort despite being complete strangers, I might even meet them again.
I'd gladly print some flyers, however I'd say black and white ones are more feasible to be distributed. -
Pretty sure you have to, as it installs with some default keys. I had to request them at least but that is some time ago. At best they send it without asking but you probably need to go through the copy pasting of cd keys..

You do, yes.

If we can whip up a print flier or something I could post it up in the local game stores.
Nerds love game stores.
-
-might- be able to help out with this, and i'd happily post fliers around Seattle/University District.

CoA has a facebook group with a sizeable amount of members (like 200 or so), I am trying to organize a time to get as many folks on as possible as a tribute to the full server days and to get old players who haven't tried to back into it. I'll let folks know when I have a date.
-
Make all the noobs know the pain of -waiting- to log in!
-
On this note folks:
Let's help out these new players!
If you receive a message IG from a playername you've never met before, and they're stuck on some quest, or curious about how things work, don't just "FOIG" them or tell them "IDK check the website." Let's help out! If you're about to log, trade them off to someone else. Orrrr have them message me. #recruitingnewbsforfactionsagainstyours.
A lot of the failures to launch with NEW players is that this is simply an old game that takes some getting used to. The mechanics aren't hard to learn, but there is a curve as to how we do things. Keep this in mind!

Tried to post, but it seems I need moderator approval.
Is that you, StrawMan? -
Moderator approval?
I don't have a clue, I'm afraid.I have only regular user posting permissions over on the Bioware boards.
Were you logged in when you tried to post? -
It's a new user something.
I guess they will approve it sooner or later. -
I tried to make a post last night, same issue.
-
The delay in posting rights there may be a Bioware/EA forum issue..
You are required to be Logged In to do anything other than view content, and likely the "new account" process is not the fastest.

Hey - we do have some legitimately new players in game. Remember to be patient and understanding, include them in cool stuff, get them XP and loot. Remember when you first started, cool characters and complex four hour political discussions are ok but cool stuff, XP and loot is where it's at until you get your CoA legs.

Might be bringing in one or two more. Remember to nice IG to all your RP buddies. Especially the new ones, which we can all spot a mile away, getting lost trying to find The book shop.
