Bringing in fresh blood

Over 9000 Forum XP goes to Verk.

I'm attending a Table Top Con which my brother is part of running, they are excepting between 60-80 people per day over three days startind Friday the 30 October so not massive. I would like to leave something for CoA there, something that fits on an A4 or similar. Anyone up for making one? Deadline would be 20th of October.
-
We should probably do something about the +9 AB, 12 damage Raging Pikes, or the +11 AB, Sneak Attack, 3-24 damage Pirates which spawns in groups, in certain 1-4 quests.

What does this have to do with Fresh Blood? Come on Thune, be better then this.

Well I guess it's about low level quests having some bugs in them.
Valid point, could have been stated better really.

I was trying to say that to be more newbie friendly, our newbie quests should be newbie friendly. Some of them are not well thought out. The grey oozes for example. Without metagaming, it might be one of the first rooms you look at when entering frin's basement. The sheer number of traps added to the lost ring quest punishes you for not bringing a rogue, when we historically and currently have few rogues.
While these generally hurt you, my above examples have a proven track record of sending even jaded and experienced CoA veterans to the fugue with no trouble.
-
Before opening the room to the grey oozes you actually get a message saying it's optional and potentially dangerous. As for the traps in Frin's basement, they can mostly be avoided if you're careful and use detect mode. I agree the pikes are abit too strong for all but high hp martial classes to deal with, and even they can get destroyed.

This is going off topic. Please report things and make suggestions in the right place.
This was a happy thread.

Wow. I didn't even know there was a Reddit for NWN.
I swear there's one for everything, I'll post there in a bit.

I was going to ask if it'd help to include sample current characters so people have an idea of the feel of the server. And then I realized just how difficult it is to tell Tara's story in a length that people might actually read . _.
! Tara is a bardess with studies devoted to healing. Her past before coming to Arabel isn't impressive - an escaped slave on the run from her abusive master of a Lord in Amn. Arabel was going to be "just another stop on the journey", but she set root once she developed strong friendships. Many of the friends she made since she first came to town have died; a battle against a dracolich to prevent a dracorage mythal from being established killed most of them. Of those that are still living are War Wizard Labelle, Jack Tanner, and Silentpaw. Henri gained his position from merit after assisting with the events surrounding the dracorage mythal. Jack Tanner is now a bannerman in House Rathcore, a player-run noble house. Silentpaw, a wildwalker (druid), is upset with Tara and her beloved, Darien Rathcore, after they committed an atrocity to the nearby Hullack Forest…she has tried to make amends with him, and the Hullacks, but he still holds quite the grudge.
! Of course, she has gained additional friends. She has joined House Rathcore as an Associate herself, and is betrothed to the Lord who has since has his title revoked due to his involvement with a criminal gang in the slums of the city. Tara is trying her best to prove that he deserves his title back, but is finding difficulty because she doesn't really understand Cormyrean nobility and what their attitude should be. She's messed up quite a bit, getting thrown into the Penal Legion in order to be bait for criminals who were spying within the town's Militia. In fact, she faces a lot of confusion in general, as she is trying to be a lawful bard, which isn't supported on the server!
! Her overarching goal is the protection and growth of Arabel - and Cormyr - from that which seeks to destroy and corrupt it, such as the criminal gang that her betrothed was unwillingly involved with. Her immediate goal is getting Darien's title back, but faces difficulties due to her ties with War Wizard Labelle, who wants to ensure he never gets it back. Her theme is "healer", and prefers mercy, but isn't afraid of justice when justice is due. Her main god is Ilmater, and is considering devoting herself further to the faith, but wants to prove that she can stand by herself first, before she becomes one of Ilmater's tools to end suffering.
! She is a Level 9 Bard with low STR and high CHA. Her gear is considered decent/good, but not godly. Her armor is a DM-created reward, which further augments her healing abilities. She does not wear a helmet. Her boots are faction-loot, from a now-dissolved DM faction that she got when she infiltrated it. Cloak, gloves, necklace, and rings are either "socketed" (custom-created using the gem-socket system to turn mundane items into magical ones) or loot found through scripted server quests. Those items can easily be improved, either with better socketing gems, or by better loot from harder quests. -
I gave you RagingSun, isn't that enough of a pox?

Just linked the reddit to all my local groups. I would encourage you all to do the same.

I'll visit a roleplaying weekend saturday.
If someone comes up with DM-approved flyers, I'll ask them if I can distribute some on the tables. Anyone? -
@verkosh:
i levelled in forum warrior prc and found it.
We have this one, but it is not really a flyer to print out. I will just go for this one myself if no one has time to make a fancy CoA flyer which is a bit more printer friendly. We need to catch their eyes, the flyer is great for forums but an A4 not so much.
-
It's a university roleplaying group, I'll contact the organizer if I can distribute flyers once we have something ready.
-
I like the one that Knightmare guy made. I'd have put a particularly epic screen shot in the middle of it though. I'll see if I can get in touch with him, maybe he has the flyer saved somewhere and could edit it for us.
