What kind of player are YOU?
-
We have something like this for DMs, though it's a bit out-dated now I think. We could do with one for players as well, so tell us something about yourself, and maybe we can all have a better idea of what is actually fun for others.
I'll start.
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Raghat (cage-fighter orc warlord)
Viktor Valeholt (butt nekkid Talos priest)
Vazlah Nyirase (infernalism-dabbling sorceress)What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Jon Ermyn (such mystery. much stealth. very scary. wow. also banned)
Kraegus Thune ("Let them Burn")
Katherine Stoneriver <3Do you have a preference in storylines?
Intrigues, betrayals, rivalries. Cults are always fun, as are semi-heretical twists on established dogma.
I like my villains slow cooked but ultimately doomed to be eaten. The bad guy gets to be a badass but doesn't win the girl at the end, while the good guy gets the stick throughout until he finally overcomes his rival.
Most of all though, I like non-lethal rivalries. Two Talassan clerics competing for favour? A Tormite and a Banite squaring off to see who can win the most followers? This is the stuff legends are made of.How do you like your PvP?
Non-lethal. I have never been a fan of mechanics dictating a plot-line. If you do abuse this and make death seem like something not to be feared, death is the only means of preserving the setting. Give it the fear it deserves though and you'll often GET an out from it. Scared of being executed? Promise to become an Agent informant, join the penal legion, pledge that you'll spy for the Court or help the infernalists capture your priest friend for their blood for a ritual.
PvP is about everything from rivalries to show-downs.Playing times?
Generally UK evenings, though inevitably that turns into UK-some-forsaken-hour-in-the-morningWhat plot do you want to see on the setting?
Temple War. Been waiting since the wipe for this. Furies vs CoF vs Unquiet Night vs Temple of Truths.

Harrusk Berrozenial, "The Apocalypse is NIGH!"
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Sheep's wererat dude "the favor shall be returned."
Mortui's Thomas, "Where are you Alexander?"
Connie's Sorcerer of Clar Banda, "You should be nicer, Lilitu."
Do you have a preference in storylines?
Violent, dark, brutal.
How do you like your PvP?
Against the impossible odds.

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Vincent Le'Chance - Harper Wannabe who was betrayed so much by team good he turned to evil and infernalism
Horgar Son of Kor - Barbarian of the blood elk tribe, became a Wyvern Auxiliary, Sieged the temple of Tyche to cleanse it of dishonor
Cyrton Zaephor - Insane goat demon who convinced everyone he was a SatyrWhat are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Vesper Gentles - Best crime lord I've ever seen on the server
Sir James Raventree - Best Red Hard ever in MHO
Arturio the Selunite - Best long lasting rivalry I ever had, the back and forth shar vs selune was epic
Do you have a preference in storylines?
I prefer heavy intrigue with lots of spies, information trading, and minimal need for DM interaction. I like heavy action to be the culmination of lots of RP and work to date, rather than a constant stream of battles. If I were to run an event, it would be a long series of small information gathering or item gathering plots to solve a greater mystery and the final event would come when the group solved the puzzle.
How do you like your PvP?
I never enjoy FDing, not because I'm against FD (I'm ok with it happening to me) I just prefer having a long rivalry. Rivalries are needed for things to remain interesting without DM's. Good and evil/Order and chaos/Rival Religions/Rival Gangs/Rival factions… they need to be constantly at each other for things to remain stirred up. I'd love to do things to keep people at each other's throats or constantly working against one another.
Playing times?
GMT -6 (USA Central) Evenings during the week and SOME weekends. (Only get to see the fiancé on the weekends so I don't have much time unless I stay home) -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Jestomil Calwyr -My first application character. The original plan was to be a Helmite priest within House Fezznick but that was vetoed so he became an Arcane Devotee Conjurer of Helm. Eventually ended up as House Captain and retired him with Loretta's household in Immersea.
Sir Arvan Denethial, Knight of the Merciful Sword- A priest turned reluctant paladin of Tyr. His concept was conflicted scholar and was never intended to go into the Knights of the Merciful Sword. After running down a Red Wizard with Darmos he was initiated. He took part in the march that killed most of the order and left with the few remaining members after a short term as the city's first Magistrate.
Sir Welston Alanvil of the Red Hart- What's a wizard doing in a knightly order? That's what started this concept. He had a great run and despite being an elevated commoner, who constantly felt unworthy, managed to stay alive long enough to earn his red cloak. By far my most mechanically challenging character ever. Wore full plate while casting spells and wielding a massive two handed gem sword in the thick of battle. Died against a bunch of undead just outside the East way cemetary shortly after Clar Banda's ascension.
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Latok's- Satyr/Tiefling/Creature thingy gets special mention. I've many others I'd put on the list but can't pick only two.Do you have a preference in storylines?
Heroic struggles between two or more clearly defined forces. Good vs Evil. Order vs Chaos. Loyalist vs Rebel. Religious conflict. Anything that polarizes the server and encourages people to pick a side, not being neutral bystandersI like my storylines to include many people working towards something at a manageable and steady pace with group success being recognized and rewarded. I cannot keep the pace of a real mover and shaker in forum warrioring and questing/adventure so need to be part of the storylines of others.
How do you like your PvP?
Slow build up. Non-lethal. Non-asshole ICly actions that make me want to log since I know I can't possibly survive a mechanical conflict. I try to be the foil for the "bad guys" to play off against and try to extend their story. What I don't like is concepts being ended before they even get going. Example: There was a PC Half-Dragon(Red) who my paladin of Bahamut encountered. Given it was his first day IG, I likely could have smashed him but we had fun tauting and making veiled threats to each other. I log in the next day, excited to continue that storyline to find out the character was already dead by some gank squad.Playing times?
Evening mostly some daytime depending on work schedule.
GMT-7What plots do you want to see in the setting?
Anything involving knightly orders and/or religious factions
Closing/resolution of alot of the current ones before new ones are introduce. -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Malexia Vendu - Custodian necromancer, obsessed with overthrowing the Mage Guild and undermining the Eclestians.
Moira Tobin - Tychean priestess playing and betraying all sides in the civil war to bring the church to prominence.
Mithas "The Bull" - Lowly mercenary turned Plebian duke, Hoarran enforcer and slayer of the Wyvernwater hydra. What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Viktor Valeholt - Nekkid Talassan, crazy fun, knew how to make PC events exciting.
Apep Cipatli - Intrigue heavy drood of Sebek, scary and intimidating, also knew how to give a girl a fun time.
The Slime Cult - All of them. Best villains ever.Do you have a preference in storylines?
Adventure! Loot! Slaying things! Ravenloft style dark, gothic stories involving undead, curses and castles. Seeking magical and holy relics. And dragons! I am not terribly fond of heavy intrigue or slow plots. I like getting a plot done and moving on to the next. How do you like your PvP?
PvP is part of the game and I do not shy away from it. I am fine with being FDed if story builds to it. I'm not very good at PvP but doesn't mean I won't do it.Playing times?
GMT-5 Midwest USA, evenings and weekends. What plots do you want to see in the setting?
Religious wars.
Dragon slaying.
More shakeup/destruction of the setting. Drop Old Town into the Underdark, burn the Spire down with dragon flame or flood the Citadel with Umberlee's minions so half the city is underwater. Wiping Thunderholme is a nice start. -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Thaldan Menas (Heretical (and pretty awful) Ghaunadaurian and part-time hopeless romantic)
Rothan Krite (Blight-loving Chaos Brigadier, also Ghaunadaurian)
Lyran Rickertt (Paladin of Gargauth, Crusader of Fire)What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Lionel Ledricht
Merrigo Barrow
Lisa AmraphenDo you have a preference in storylines?
I can only enjoy being Team Evil. I prefer stories centered on obscure or weird stuff and they have to be fast paced.
Large-scale betrayal is fun. Well-developed relationships between PCs make for a more immersive experience and I love when other PCs feel extreme emotions towards mine, so I seek hate-fuelled rivalries, love interests, bromances, etc.
I like to see the villain triumph over the good guys until the very end where said good guys come up with a complex plan to take the villain down. How do you like your PvP?
I like mechanical PvP when it's a challenge and is rewarded properly - Crushing people effortlessly is boring and spending +100k to receive nothing is disheartening. I dislike lethal PvP and I only resort to FD when it's necessary.
PvP through roleplay (NPC support, exploiting RP weaknesses, etc) can make a larger difference to a story and is usually far more interesting than mechanical PvP.Playing times?
4-11pm on weekdays, ~12-3am on weekends (UK - Currently GMT+1)What plots do you want to see in the setting?
Shadovar!
Ghaunadaurian goodness!
Underdark stuff!
Cults of obscure deities meddling with things! -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Matthias Corsander - Tymorian ex green dragon/Phoenix Legion soldier lost his hand to the Ashbys.Sad that I had to retire him do to ooc issues.
Alain Elrad - Free spirited robin hood esc pirate/ Silver Bannersman die when the devil dagons tower fall down on him with trying to safe an old man.
Gabriel Constantine - Dawnbringer/Silver Bannersman know for his god saving him in the depts of the Lich King's lair. Also sad that I could not keep playing him do to changing my op system to Linux and not getting CoA to work. What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Malverick Anatara: Terris - Hyper active elf retainer to house Thond and member of the Phoenix Legion. Also had to copy Matthias and lose his hand.
Renner Kelm: Centurion2142 - Lots of funny moments where had.
Private Honeydew: Swingsing - Lots of laughs and threats to arrest MatthiasDo you have a preference in storylines?
It's hard to say what my preference in a storyline for me is because as long as it is a good story it is good to me. Though I would have to say one that get everyone involved on either side of a conflicted. Something that pushes the players to make difficult choices and over come great threats. How do you like your PvP?
Not a big fan of pvp meanly because I suck at it. Though that being said I know it has a place and well not shy way from it. I like pvp when it's clear cut case that that is the only option left and all others have been exhausted.Playing times?
UTC-04:00) Atlantic Time between 1 pm and 6pmWhat plots do you want to see in the setting?
Not sure if it's been done but something involving the Demonlord Dagon's minions. Ever since they have added him to the list of demonlords in dnd 3.5 I've wanted to play in a game theme around his cult. I also agree closing/resolution of alot of the current ones before new ones are introduce. -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Artio Walker– from back before I had a CLUE that I was mechanically inept and unable to do diddly against those who could pvp, She took chances, got pitted, beat the crap out of a tiefling with some help from a god AND made a stand against the Primordial that got put into a book ( not too mention wall scratchings in the pit <3)
Will Travail because I enjoy being that guy, And the Greater Good should always be the driving force for everything a character does. He fell, he got the hell back up. He sacrificed his own hand to save the city from destruction under mt ruswanna(?). He sacrificed it again to keep from being corrupted. He was a Paladin, but he was Human through and through.
Cormac MacNulty with lots of help from other players, healed the Pool of Eldath.
'Nuff SaidWhat are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played? This is harder by far because so much awesome in RP is out there.
LMBA's "Ophelia" <3
Latock's Sharran– even thou he regularly kicked the living crap out of Artio, it was grand :-) -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
West Coltern- Teenage Rogue from the Icewind Dale who fell in with a Maskarran Prostitution Ring before becoming a Slime-Touched criminal and being executed by the Red Hart.Micha Smithson- Cannibal Necromancer Barbarian Knight with an Affinity towards Social Terrorism
Tobias Kenryk- Grandpa Punisher
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Taryn Rodgers- Most Badass Love interest EVARJamenditha Foechuckle- Crashing Airships is his business, and business be f***in' Crackin'
Lional Ledricht- //Shit My armor broke!
Do you have a preference in storylines?
I prefer storylines that include everyone and make for an all around 3 Dimensional feel to it. All characters having their own agendas, own thoughts, own plans. I love Civil War type Storylines and especially love War in general. Definitely love storylines that make people have to sit down, stop questing, and actually make a plan. (Miss the meeting room in the Courthouse.)How do you like your PvP?
Love my plot vs plot. Would much prefer many of the badguys getting wiped out more by outside sources then actual Mechanical PvP. I love hit and run's too. It's not about winning the fight, it's about doing damage.Playing times?
Random. What plots do you want to see in the setting?
More open conflict between 2 factions (I keep suggesting opening up a third, out of the City, faction)
More Wyvernwater
Anything that actually scares the crap out of Citadel NPC's/PC's
And of Course, Dragons. -
Going to answer all of these from my days as a player, not a DM.
What are up to THREE of your OWN favorite characters to have played?
Odie Grim - Private Investigator and undercover Wyrm Guard eventually assassinated while trying to expose a ring of Sharrans.
Safar - The leader and probably least interesting member of the Pale Sands, who was basically just the faction secretary, was still one of my favorites to play because of how awesome my faction mates were.
Daedeloth - Democratically elected Chieftain of the V4 elven warband that included Erul'kan, Razgrizz, Nawen, Qa'naepp and many others that eventually ended during the Red Hart war.
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Lizardman's Raghat - Managed to become both nemeis and rival to Daedeloth and the War band despite almost never interacting IG because of time zones. The life of parties he was never even at.
Azazel's Erul'kan - When he said "I do not afraid Dragon" I don't think he realized he'd started a lasting CoA meme, but this guy lived DNA. As a player he didn't even like PvP, but he played true to his PC's character and always did what the PC would do. Tons of fun to play with.
Inordinate Force's Sharlaan - The Moriarty to Odie Grim's Sherlock, I had a lot of fun with the back and forth scheming.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
No. I like anything that fosters intrigue-heavy sustained conflict between player groups. I think the best stories and plots are those that force two groups to really work against one another, not just beat each other up.
How do you like your PvP?
DNA. Embrace loss. Winning is irrelevant. I like to be the underdog. I am personally very opposed to powergaming, but I will do whatever is in character regardless of what I might OOCly suspect the consequences will be. I encourage others to consider that they are probably discouraging other people from interacting with them by becoming extremely powerful, even if it does not scare me away.
Playing times?
When science allows. Which is not often these days. Late night American east coast.
What plot do you want to see on the setting?
More plots involving cohesive player factions that oppose one another in meaningful ways. I like knightly orders, evil cults, elven war bands, hafling troupes that bring their own plots and goals to the game.
-
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Jonathon Greenwood - maskarn cleric/mage/rogue tried to pull a long scam, failed but was fun to play
Ratter - talonite cultist, made the sewers his home, only used things he found, nothing he bought.
Kimli - dwarven loreseeker, investigated thrivaldi. What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Gurm - long played half orc druid, taught me lots of stuff about the server ic.
Helmar Bloodchurn - werewolf leader of the red moon, inspired a lot of activity and rivalry with red harts.
Novo Mundus - zool's adventure's guild founder, i didnt interact lots but did appreciate the efforts involved to tell stories.Do you have a preference in storylines?
Any really i think. How do you like your PvP?
With suitable reason behind it…Playing times?

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Holden Ruusu, a dual-concept necromancer of Velsharoon who sacrificed his own brother.
Dayne Parley, a Fivestar Merchant and Cult of The Dragon, was involved in east way's demise along with others.
Semira Crimmon, started off as a Silver Talon Company's mercenary and healer, and now… Doing other things. What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Eliphas - Back when I played a druid, Eliphas was pretty much everything I expected from one. Ageless, wise, nurturing and encouraging.
Rav - When my first character met Rav, I was awestruck. Much like Eliphas, she brought certain stability and longevity to the populace. When you needed to know about what had happened long time ago in the past, she was the character you'd eventually be asking.
There's a ton of other characters who'd deserve a mention in here, but I can't single out just one.Do you have a preference in storylines?
Occultism, Necromancy, Infernalism, weird stuff. I enjoy -actually doing- stuff. Collecting bones, hair, mushrooms, tomes, lore, blood, items, etc. I like clear goals that can be worked towards without a DM present (even if the final push requires DM). I kinda dislike these complex riddle plots that are scattered around the server, because it's damned hard to get anyone to explore with you, exploring is dangerous and doesn't pay, and exploring solo is just asking to get killed off by some monster that you have no chance of beating alone, in addition to the fact that the server is so littered with random tidbits of information that I can never make out what is related to current plots, what is old plots, and what are retired plots. How do you like your PvP?
I admit I enjoy the rush of adrenaline when mechanical pvp happens - It's just so that most time it happens, it's me burning through tricks in an attempt to escape a gank/trap/ambush/unlucky encounter. Problem is that I like the -escaping- part, not the part where your characters story ends prematurely because someone saw you as a threat/wanted your plot thing/loot.
I'd rather do pvp through undermining others plans or outrunning them with your own plans, instead of simply beating them up and taking their hard earned progression (or possibly ending the character too). In my 7 years or so in CoA, I think I've FD'd only one character, ever. I think the server would be a better place if everyone was required to ask the person they are going to FD "Are you okay with me killing you off, or do you want to slip away?" before they were allowed to FD.Playing times?
Well, back to work tomorrow. My playing times will be about a few hours per day, between 15:00 GMT and 24:00 GMT. Somewhere in that slot. -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Thomas Brushborne: "Master wouldn't leave Thomas, would he? Would Alex?"
Wynton Durwood: "That pisser better not have mocked me, he DID didn't he!? OH IT'S ON NOW!"
Guilus Shaleskull: "My might makes right, nobody elses does!"
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Alexander Autumnglory: "THE NOT MAUVE EYE SHALL PREVAIL!"
Merrigo Barrows: "OHOHOHOHO!"
Apep Cipactli: "FREE MY SISTER!" (Or was that the Queen of Ice and Fire? :P)
Do you have a preference in storylines?
Huge, epic battles. The fights for Castle Crag were amazing.
Cultist stuff is also cool, anything heretical.
How do you like your PvP?
Long, drawn out and methodical, like a proper battle before descending into extreme madness and chaos.
Playing times?
GMT +10, a few hours most days. -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Oscar Straub-Pleb Court/Penal Legion, CE Paladin of Cyric who was willing to stab everyone in the back(And he did)
Dorgan Blackrock- Custodian of Candlekeep, Gnome bard who spent most of his time seeking to destroy the infamous Slugasoras
Can't decide between Slimy Scilla(Cabal, Half Orc barb who willingly walked into the sheriffs office) and Martin Crump(Sheriffs & Shepherds, CE Bard who infiltrated the sheriffs to provide inside info for the Shepherds)What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Novo Mundus- Bable was one of the first players I met on CoA and Novo was the biggest influence on my game. When Novo died I tried to carry on the torch to the best of my ability. Adventurers Guild & Gatecrashers 4 life.Baron Xzavien Kreswell- Most impressive rise to power from a PC I've ever seen.
Qu'larq- Built Kilgrave from the ground up.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
I'm a big fan of massive evil NPC groups that endanger the city and allow PC's to either fight them or join them.
How do you like your PvP?
Adrenaline pumping and nerves shaking to a point where you know that if you make one wrong move you may be done for good! Always looking for a great ending to a character but understanding that you don't get to choose what kills you(most of the time).
Playing times?
Rather sporadic right now until I find a summer job. But once I get one I'll be locked in to 5pm-2am on weekdays and weekends being wide open. GMT-4 -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Fandon'Zorak Hairyscale - A Bard HD who made his stories by traveling and helping villains to rise, and then see them fall through glorious heroic deeds.
Ethan Barksdale - Crooky Sheriff.
Hurin of the Roads (Aka Eric Smithson, Aka Nathan Rogers) - The KoTR leader (where Jon Ermyn, Thrag & gang were born)
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Tobin Sett - Unlike Pyatt Pree, Tobin escaped the unbreakable prison of the WW. The moment when I saw his return, disguised as a Thayan Knight of a Magus, made to my memories.
Baron Xzavien Kreswell - Fight to the last!
Ondeth Waters, "The Black Dragon" - The, speech. So, epic.
! @Rorschach:
! >Edit: Apologies for the bad spelling. I half-feared the Legion would arrest me and lop off my head if I wasn't quick about it.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
I like Epic, large battles. Dragon vs Knights breeds a good story, always! How do you like your PvP?
Good rivalries, constant attempts to make the other fall, ending in epic battle, or to an assassins blade at the local tavern.Playing times?
Nope. -
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
K.S. - A wizard/cleric I got to have a lot of fun with, who's story trailed off into obscurity after a really amazing character came into their life.
L.A. - A paladin/Divine Champ who fell from grace for losing their temper once and had to cut a bloody swath through the bad guys in order to crawl back up. Did something cool after that but it never amounted to anything and the story was concluded off stage, I guess? I quit shortly thereafter for a good while.
Tanith Meynold - A paladin/cleric who was off to do some good and actually did some cool things. Still on the fence about what to do with her, if anything. Running into a couple back-to-back roflstomps and quiet realizations about 'expectations' with regards to the server really, really put me off. Still one of my favorites, but I fear she's destined to join the stack of other characters I give up on.What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Jezebel Dourstien - A tortured woman who was unapologetically evil but still HUMAN. Not just a couple saving graces, but she had a full range of graces– She set the bar for every antagonist I've ever read or written about since, and that bar is incredibly high. She was the only evil character who's death actually made me cry and made me feel emotionally dead for a good while. (Previous to that was Roy from Bladerunner, yeah, it'd been a while)
Dame Dedrie O'Connel - A knight in every sense of the word even if she was a bit crass and totally anti-knight at times. She was really well represented.
Malvrick Artana - An oldschool Thond retainer who was as lighthearted and incredibly serious when it came time to do something righteous. When his throat was torn up and he had to breathe through a modified helmet and had the darth vader thing going on, it affected him– and broke my heart to see. Really well played.Do you have a preference in storylines?
Ones that actually have progress, definable benchmarks (think 3 act structure), and a conclusion. Something I've almost never actually seen here.
I'm open for pretty much any story, I write for a living and love movies, anything can be interesting if handled well, something we sadly don't do. It's no one particular group's fault, but there're plenty of resources out there to get better at it. We could all stand to learn a thing or two.How do you like your PvP?
I don't.The play cycle (the time it takes to roll up a character, become pvp viable to the moment blood hits the ground) is way too long for someone like me who doesn't know the engine backwards and forwards. After having my ass handed to me more than a few times by far more mechanically competent people, I've actively started hating pvp because of the way it tends to get handled on here– he who has the best toys wins-- yes, I know it's the nature of mechanics, but my /god/ is it discouraging.
It's gotten to the point where I'm actively trying to unlearn things because when I start thinking about them, I get upset and irritated. That's not cool, nor fair to other players. PvP has its place in any story, but outside of two examples, I've rarely been privy to 'good' mech-pvp, so I try to avoid it wherever possible.
My few attempts at non mechanical pvp have been hit or miss. . . the Thaldan thing being a good example of the usual result.
Playing times?
Currently taking a break. I always say its for good, but I know better.I'm weak willed to begin with, I keep coming back because there's nowhere else that has the low power level play of CoA (I despise high level play with godly characters) and the focus on roleplay over 'let's comp-stomp.'
-
What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Laura Greymourne - Senior Retainer of House Bhaliir. First real attempt to play evil, and I felt she was believable. Likely the best character and the second most enjoyable I have had to date.
Jessabel Harondale - Sharran Clergy and Werecat. Sought to create a ritual that would summon forth a Nightcrawler, and use it to force all into the service of Shar. I had some epic enemies, and alot of fun with an openly evil individual who most couldnt touch. Never have forgiven Thune for killing her off as he did.
Kendrick Tallis. Pacifist turned Venor of the Phoenix Rebellion. Hated to hurt others, and eventually sold his soul because he feared dying. He eventually was burned, to save his soul by the EO.
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?-Mumad- V3 criminal. Was just epic in every way.
-Raghat, by Lizardman. I had an almost nemesis relationship with him, which was fun. Involved so many people, and did it with style, and not just OMG smack. Loved him.
Sheeps Grail Rathmore. Epic, well played, awesome story, so believable, right to the end, rising from beggar and servant to evil bastard. It was always so nice to know, that a silver sword scared him, despite him being perhaps 3 times his opponents level.Do you have a preference in storylines?
Non Epic, believable. I love Intrigue, I love fighting humans rather than epic dragons. I love layer upon layer of mystery, that is inbetted into the stories overall storyarch. In V5, plots that involve Hardcastle, inner faction conflicts and the mystery of the Citizen gain my attention. I love stories that CHANGE the landscape, and where players are given the chance to make a difference. Like when we were given the chance to kill Aldek and finish the war if we succeeded. I hate epic plots that only leave dents in the server. The story of House Bhaliir, that was a front for the Unseen Hand, another faction, which was really the front of Beholders, was awesome. The Grey Circle Plot, was awesome.
Finally, plots that make Canon Sense, Cormyr wise. Nobles fighting nobles, small backstabbery, secret agents, double crosses will always entertain me 20 times more than dragons and demi gods. But meta plots, broken into small plots, each spinning the wheels is also awesome. Especially if each chapter runs no more than a few weeks, a month at a time.
How do you like your PvP?
I like epic battles between roughly equal opponents. I love stories and rivalries where each individual seeks to outsmart the other, rather than just beat them down. I HATE PVP when it is one sided, where it is one person being twice my level, with me having zero chance to win. I like deaths that come at the end of a good story told by two people. But if I dont think the other person plays fair, I usually shy away, as I have lost too many awesome stories to overpowered and powerhungry opponents.Playing times?
GTM +1, Early afternoons mostly. Have a had time playing weekends. -
I'm reading every one of these posts and it's a nice mix of nostalgia and summarizing what people are after today.

Vigor the monk (he felt very alive to me, great roleplayer)
That lady who was in charge of Red Harts. Her name escapes me, totally badass though.Do you have a preference in storylines?

Kutter - half-orc thug, devotee of Talona. Helped set a plague off in the slums.
Archibald Trask- Red Hat Errant - tried to get Harts riding Wyverns!
Cale Fitzbaker - went from Arabellan thug to bodyguarding for CandlekeepWhat are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Griam - Gnome cleric, looked like a golem. Awesomely played.
Sir Welston Alanvil - so much gravitas
Gregorious Fallow - super cool wizard with so much secret (then not so secret) badguy stuffDo you have a preference in storylines?
I like gritty as a rule. Smaller stories with people the major players.
How do you like your PvP?
I like it fair. No ganking please, no million potions rush - remember this is supposed to be fun! I like it when the bad guys or good guys get a chance to spoil the others plans.
