What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Duleth De'Hunal Bedine warrior who tried to assassinate prince Hadrhune of Loross while acting as his agent and betraying him. He ended up playing a well planed part in his plan, but managed to damage him so he had to withdraw from the war with Cormyr. Duleth died in the process, so he is recognized as a hero now despite not the slightest intention to help Cormyr. Ever.
His tribe is probably still enslaved by the Shades though.
Fifur of Moradin Long-term dwarfen paladin. He questioned his own actions often, he believed in anyone and the chance of redemption. He also visited hell with Raventree and Mina, first of Tyche and the Red Hart respectively.
He was ultimately late to join everything, so he didn't get anywhere. But I enjoyed him a lot.
Stani Rogers He might still pop up again. Lots of dwarven friends, some secret stuff that didn't really unfold, sadly. What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Jupe's Janni, Azmaral of Secret Waters (?) He redefined a char of mine with a single session.
Burt, Ikul's socially incompetent half-orc, actually the only half orc char I REALLY liked. (Grum wasn't a half-orc at the end. )
Fandon the half-dragon of Sheep, mentioned earlier, showed how a player can be a DM at the same time as he sponsored villains and heroes to greatness.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
I'm all for explorations lately… I'm terrible at it. I always fail recruiting people.
How do you like your PvP?
I like to take it slow. Usually events pass me quick.
Playing times?
None sadly. Soon… perhaps.

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Selene (Dark but feigning Naivite)
Laura Sadaukar (Jergalite and doom guide)
Nikolai Kurkovich (Dry humour and russian accents)What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
SARRASHA NORIETH. (Everytime I think of that time my heart aches. A character that left an impression upon me like no other.
Lisa Amraphen. (Another who influenced my thinking greatly)
Rav (Mysteries and secrecy)
APEP (Khamal knows the last name nodnod)Do you have a preference in storylines?
Survival is usually too much of a focus for anything else. Things attack I try to kill it or retreat to players that CAN kill it. But when I can talk I try to bring out the best reaction. I had the bad habit to respond to everything the DM said IC because I thought that'd increase the experience. Awkward situations I've seen afterwards. How do you like your PvP?

Jon Emryn. Kach's ally and competitor.
Shibuya Naotoshi, "GRORY TO THE CRAN"
Imoogie. Little gnomey cursed mole-were-thing
Do you have a preference in storylines?
Epic and server shaking or deeply personal. I prefer ones that -can- move fast if PCs push it along nicely.
How do you like your PvP?
I prefer epic rivalries that build up over time, but -when- pvp happens, i want it brutal.
Playing times?
I work every other week so i get little playing times during that week, i usually play a lot during my weeks off. I'm GMT but hours range all over the clock

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
I'm saying four because I loved them all, each of them very different in their own ways.Lionel Ledricht, Retainer of House Hardcastle
Vayne Vilxley, Envoy of Mephistopheles
Damien Drake, Malarite werewolf
Frederick "Dracohorn", most popular guy in ArabelWhat are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Grail Rathmore, Sheep did a fantastic job with him and I interacted with him over three different PCs, each time was a pleasure. Vaelyn even played a heavy part in what became of his PC which I enjoyed
Aulten Oaks, golw's CG ranger who opposed my PC Lionel from the other side, while I was the corrupt NE Retainer. It was very fun watching his story and golw is just a great player in general.
CB's Horgar Coalhewer, fantastic portrayal of a Duergar and hilarious to the point of almost spitting water on a screen.Honourable mention to SpiffyHas for Alexander Autumnglory, the most comedic PC I have ever witnessed on CoA.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
Dark, gritty, mysterious, political, adventurous, I like bizarre cults and widespread death and destruction, tragedy. I also like to see moments where the heroes prevail or where the bad guys get a big win. Character defining things. I also prefer plots that move at a good steady pace, DMless ones in particular are quite nice when they can be solved in about a month of chipping away.
How do you like your PvP?
Showdown style. Lots of RP beforehand where both sides are just waiting for the other to pull the trigger. Hardcore. You don't stop attacking when I threaten to cut off your grounded ally's head, they might lose it. Important to take threats very seriously in PvP and keep it extremely realistic while maintaining OOC courtesy.
Playing times?

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Abin Nix- my first long term character, taught me a lot about the server.
Andros Olen- A cleric without spells for most of his career. Still got to do a lot. Still has a lot to do. Love to play him again.

Wow,this is even harder! So many great characters over the years.
Any knight played by mr Geek.
Trystan- of Tyrstan trades fame. Mostly as an example of getting things done. Kreswell was like that too.
Raslyn Dracart- love all of her characters, but this one always edges out the rest in my mind.Do you have a preference in storylines?

Do you have a preference in storylines?
I prefer story lines that try and get everyone involved and make them all feel usefull. so no one feels like a background character.
How do you like your PvP?
I hate the idea of having to fight another player because they usualy specalize in killing other players or they have some secret boon that buffs them.

Atreus Kemp: My favourite character i have played without a doubt, a horrible horrible bully, loved every minute.

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Rexahr Rakal - Grossly disfigured Hoaran paladin that sought redemption from his past crimes, eventual leader of The Gauntlet
Solus - Sith-like power seeking monk that meant to one day replace Tempus or die trying (he died)
Tex Shoeman - Spiteful, uncouth and uneducated Old Towner turned gangsterWhat are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Jon Ermyn and the Sharran Cult - Created an IC and OOC atmosphere of terror in Arabel, having become the most successful mass murderer of all CoA history, since he never got caught
Mister Gentles - Awesomely suave criminal that controlled Arabel's underworld and rivaled Kraegus Thune with the help of Solus and his many other underlings
Trey Crent and the Slime Cultists - Like the Sharran Cult they instilled fear and swayed the direction of the server for a long timeDo you have a preference in storylines?
Player based plots and conflicts.
How do you like your PvP?
I like the excitement of being afraid of going into a particular area, as well as the paranoia of a possible ambush at any moment. I like it edgy and realistic in the sense that the danger feels entirely real and immersive, with high stakes. Obviously it also should be meaningful and make sense to the circumstances.

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Vorn Xarran - Custodian of Candlekeep.
Nathaniel Reyn - Eclestian Witch hunter.
Evemerus Lycanther - Mage guild, Aldek's first apprentice. What are your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Ahn'ak'cho - I've seen a ton of amazing characters come and go, but I'll always remember Almadyr's Githzerai. Never seen a better alien.
Kraegus Thune - It's rare that I get to follow a PC from his humble beginnings to the defacto ruler of the city.
Raghat - Ran a one-shot orc evil quest once. He turned it into a server plot.Katherine Stoneriver, Eliphas, Ak'dul, Qu'larq, Novo, Jamedithas get a honorable mention. Malleah Tulla is still the best Jynx I've seen.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
Twisty-turnies, Netheril, Underdark, Planes. I like the fantastic, the abstract.
How do you like your PvP?
Haven't really done much of those. I usually had people to fight for me. I accept it as part of the game, but it doesn't give me a rush as indirect battles do.
Playing times?
I don't play anymore.

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
-
Marin Lightsord - The character of mine who has done the most. Started life as a street thief, joined the Stone Guard in it's heyday and worked up to Elder. Joined Fivestar as a Bodyguard and then worked her way up to becoming a High Merchant. Became City Councillor and Judge. Joined House Oberstal and ended up Chamberlain. Joined the Immersea Pirates and became Bosun of the Tipsy Seagul. Killed the Dragon. Retired rich. Definitely the character I had who gave me most pleasure as, in all her ventures, she started off at the bottom and worked her way up.
-
Sir Jason "Ogrebane" Belstable - A bold Redhart squire who gained his Knighthood slaying, or trying to, an Ogre.
-
Radwa al Maloof - A Thond retainer. She was so mixed up sometimes, I didn't know where she was. Started out as a member of the Golden Lions, recruited by Jhavier. She grew with a whole bunch of fun characters including Jhavier, Mal, Casey and Rhapsody. They were a fun bunch. Mixed up, for sure, but fun. I don't know how Jhavier and Mal survived us Lions. She was invited to become a Retainer and ended up joining the Phoenix Legion. A fun character to play. She had some dark moments working with Lasira and her evil bunch.
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
-
cadiz_stoker's Glork Glorinson and Olouth's Katelyn Obarstal
-
ElvenStarr's Dame Melina Adams, Super_Hessu's Helmar Bloodchurn
-
Amber Ferguson's - Rhapsody, Falstaff's Jhavier Lizardclaw and Terris' Malvrick Antara.
Do you have a preference in storylines?
- Questing that involves travel and exploring ruins, caves, forests
- Storylines that develop choices: Go left and face the Giants, go right and face the traps? If you betray your friend, you'll further your faction's plotline. Give up a choice artefact that you won, but gain political power in return.
How do you like your PvP?
Non-lethal unless it's epic battle scene. I love it when my plot is shifted because of the actions of an enemy PC. My skill in mechanics tends to mean that I loose PvP fights, this means I tend to fear that encounter and work as a character to avoid it. However, I love and seek the PvP encounters that drive plot. It is these that have, in the end, gained (and lost) most for my characters and where the most fun is to be had. Damn you for stealing that artefact moments before I got my hand on it! Damn you for persuading the giants to attack our party just as we were about to trap you! Damn you for bringing that one piece of evidence to trial that meant my nemesis went free! Damn you for infiltrating my faction and passing on all that juicy information! DAMN You, All of you!
Playing times?
Weekends in GMT. Some evenings when my wife is on shifts. -

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Rav (v3 and v4) probably as a individual character responsible for the most factions that ended, directly or indirectly (there have been players who have ended many factions, but those were spread over many characters..granted, they did get credit for what they did)
Cilwa (v4, but had her just before the end of v3) a fey touched who never harmed another, only healed (ok..i accidentally hurt a vampire PC who was injured, but i did not know they had just earlier that day turned into a vapire..oops on my part)
Artist (Roka)(v5) a true survivor with a interesting secret (i am not sure, but i think in game only one character knew the truth..and he perished due to unrelated in game events)
What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
This is really unfair, as picking three from all my time here is severely limiting, i guess it could be broken to times, and if i were to make a list it would easily include 3 characters per year i have played here, that would add up to 60 characters, and i would have to go over my characters diaries to pick individuals from each era (in the very start, some were Natassia and Melanie Bresk, Wynn Salagrasta, Oliver Baba, Samarin the war wizard, Rose and Urebrin..honestly this list is impossible…i would not be able to stop adding names from various eras, and each era would include players whos characters i spent a lot of time with)Do you have a preference in storylines? i like stories that involve some thinking and dialogue, i do not relish fighting, but this is a pvp and a fight based server, so i find and make my own fun, much as i had in the past, i can not go into detail, as it involves spoilers, but i did tell one DM what i was up to in game. I only need other PC's to make the stories (if they are willing to stop and RP)
Stories I like to see from a distance? easy, ones where the DMs rally the players/characters against a common npc enemy, some of the best i seen was back in v3 where villains and heroes had to work together side by side, and they reluctantly agreed to do so, the RP that came out of those i witnessed was worth waiting to log in, in those 55/55 days
How do you like your PvP?
in the past, i preferred it to be done subtly, words only, i would try to leave a aggressor in a good mood feeling i was a friend or was terrified of them , but the words would then lead to me getting someone else to do the deed for me, be it against a individual or a whole faction (not once had Rav ever been connected to any deaths in the city..except that one accident with the bear and the dragon, i still feel bad over that..stupid spawns, but i never felt bad over the others, because they needed to be removed if my character was to survive) , in the past something like that could be done quite easily. Now i try to avoid it if at all possible, the first sign of aggression or trouble and i am two maps away before they finish their monologue

What are up to THREE of your OWN favourite characters to have played?
Burt, because of how easy it was to get involved with him.
Akmin, the first character I felt had done anything more memorable than kill some bats.
Frado… I don't even know. For all of this and more. What are up to THREE of your favourite characters that OTHER people have played?
Yeesh. Three. And I'm bad at names.
Lisa Amraphen, That Guy Whom Mond Considered His Only Friend And Whose Name I Couldn't Remember To Save My Life, Horgar come to mind?Do you have a preference in storylines?
I like storylines where you solve problems through lateral thinking more than a DM having determined, "the players roll Spellcraft here" and that's the extent of your problemsolving.
I'm also drawn towards 'craft a magic doodad' type storylines for my characters. There are several reasons for that. Firstly, it allows me to keep initiative for most of the plot: it's relatively easy to say, "I now need this component" and work towards that. Secondly, it allows me to apply some creativity in the selection of the components. Thirdly and importantly, both of these things allow you to very easily include players, while allowing them the option to just tell you 'no' ICly and wash their hands of the entire thing if they prefer to.
Lastly, I prefer storylines that progress steadily, but continuously. I prefer things where I can make a -bit- of progress once every two days, but which will can take a couple of months of chipping away. I dislike both feeling like I've made no progress whatsoever and feeling like I need to be online and pushing the plot 24/7.How do you like your PvP?
Honestly, I find it hard to enjoy PvP in general. Firstly, it tends to develop faster than I can keep up. I don't think well on my feet. This also has a significant impact on the mechanical aspect of PvP, as even if I understand the theoretical aspects, thinking of them on the spot is not what I enjoy. It goes further than just that, though. I also, as I mentioned, prefer carefully planned, thought-out, multi-tier strategies at which I can patiently chip away, and all too often I find myself on step 2 of 15 of the first sub-goal by the time the other guys already have a world-ending artifact, an archfiend backing them, and a secret base which cannot be found except by those what already know where it be.
I dramatise, of course, but the principle is true.
All of this makes me feel that in most PvP conflicts, I'm less a participant and more of a prop. The redshirt that gets killed 3 minutes into the episode the highlight how dangerous today's monster of the week is and is soundly forgotten 15 minutes in when Kirk tears his shirt for the first time. Frankly, I don't enjoy feeling like Faceless Mook #234.There are, of course, times when I do make, or help in making, a sizable dent in some opponent's efforts, but usually this happens in a way that makes me feel like they didn't get a fair fight, which leaves me with a gnawing sense of guilt. PvP tends to be a catch-22. I get to feel like a useless mook or like a craven thug.
That's not to say all PvP is bad, but as a rule it tends to not be very enjoyable to me.Playing times?
Maybe in a month. Or two. Eventually. What plot do you want to see on the setting?
I honestly don't know. I'm out of touch with the setting right now. -
