New CoA DM?
-
Leave Terris alone. He's done plenty and doing great with the current pc. We need whole new dms with new ideas to the server.
And if you rly want Terris back as dm you'd have to kill his current pc ig :p
-
Did I forget to mark that plot post as private? Damn.
I'm just kidding you were always my favorite Terris.
-
Basically, we should allow him to DM for 1 week at a time, then change the DM password. Then after a week as a PC, change the DM password back.
The trick is to not tell him when the DM password has been changed.
-
Let Terris be you monsters. He once apologised for the horror they had inflicted upon me when they gave me the access codes. Dude knows what he's on about. :)
-
He can make a difference in the player's chair, not as an admiral.

This thread has been derailed.
For more information on my DMing past - please observe this classic thread.

So Terris was Drexor Imodeus, alright.
-
DREAMBOAT. Classic moment.
-
Someday I wish I could achieve dreamboat status. But here I am stuck in shitraft territory.
-
I'd think shitraft is a purpose while dreamboat is a status.
:P -
I hate to bring this up again, but after being VERY active for the past two weeks, I can't help but share the sentiment I had when I originally posted this. I have been active in seeking out DM attention and so have those I travel with. In the past two weeks, I have had two Puffy RP sessions and one Echo DM event which was open and spontaneous.
It feels to me like plots are creeping along and no matter what I do IC, there is only so much that can be done with others before I turn to running that same quest every reset and doing this quest and that one. I play A LOT of CoA and still have only seen this. There are 30 unanswered bug reports. I'm still not meaning to make an intentional attack on the DM teams efforts, I am just wondering if/when a new DM will be announced because right now it feels like we're right back where we were in December.
The only difference this time, is our player numbers have climbed where our DM activity has decreased. Is there any way this can be remedied?

Don't take me wrong, Dobby, I mean no offense at all, but I think they have already answered you in this thread as accurately as possible.

Exactly, you can ask a million times.
We'll always, always give you the same answer. Please look at the things the DMs specifically have said.

We're always on the lookout for new DMs. It's not something that's forgotten about.
As for picking one, we consider candidates who've demonstrated the qualities we require, which go beyond proactiveness and creativity in game (though naturally, those are important too).
Making new DMs often results in the dude burning out, losing both a player and DM. As a result, picking one who doesn't demonstrate everything we need tends to be high risk. We've learned what to lookout for in 12+ years of CoA existence, and rest assured, a DM will be made when a suitable candidate exists.
DMs are made when we find a candidate. There will be no "settling" here. I assure you, a bad choice in DM will cause far more problems than you will see as a player.
Please do not think it is a matter of simply taking one and we are deliberately not doing so. Because it isn't. When we find a candidate, we'll discuss it.
That's all there is to it.

I don't want to DM again, but I am definitely willing to spoon a few people.
-
Request Denied.
Bunch of scrubs.
-
Will you not spoon, KiY?
-
S.S. Dreamboat has arrived in port!
-
I don't need KiY anyway.
: I tried to get some people to spoon with me, but there were no takers.
: It was a sad day on the coa forum for me.
…
: how about e-spoons, Harry? Does that count?
...
: Espoons are definitely what I was looking for from the DM team.
...
: Then E-spoons it is! -
HARRY!! :D
