OOC discussion on Retainers/Watch/Lawfulness
-
I for one believe that all law should be enforced by one group….If 3-5 starts upholding the laws they see fit there will be Criminals when no crimes are committed due to IG and IC plots, beliefs, and ideas, and grudges....
Do we really want more criminals than actual players?

Why are we having a whine fest about IC politics and interactions on OOC forums.
Stop whining. Start plotting. Don't like the way it is IC'ly? Change it IC'ly. Jeeze.

whether it is good for the RP environment if "IC official law handling" is handled by very large numbers of people as opposed to relatively few.. -
Rat King slipped away from prison, that alone says a lot about the current weakness of the law…
Again, on CoA, unless DMs descide it's time to kill a character, criminals always escape from prison.
When i played a sheriff i've never put people in jail because it just doesn't work.
Hopefully this will change in v5 where prison system will be redesigned.Just to let you know, the prison system is being redisgned for V5 and I was one of the people that helped catch sharptooth the first time and I tell you with all honestly he had a full IC and IG logical way to escape. This was not a "free pass" given by a DM but a completely logical and brilliant escape by a really good rival. I for one am happy he escaped to continue the conflict wtih. I always hate when rivals go too easy.

I agree with latosinned.
I was apart of that too. And I for one had absolutely no Idea any one could come up with such a brilliant way of escaping.
I am glad he escaped due to that because it was just brilliant. And in no way was it a "Get out of jail free card".

As a member of the watch I have to say I am extreamly excited OOC when someone finds a way to break out of prison. I -HATE- sticking people in jail. It's boring as hell for them and I only do it if I have no other choice. Anyone I have ever put in jail that didn't escape can attest to the fact that I will still try and go into the jail often to RP with criminals just because being stuck in there for hours is so lame.
Plus, if you escape from jail I get to hunt you. Much more fun!
Just because I am OOC excited about it doesn't mean I'm going to make it easy for you. If you try to break out I am going to IC fight it as hard as I can, and possibly kill you for it. It isn't easy and all of the succefull jail breaks I have seen have been done with either a lot of planning or a lot of cunning that no one expected. I congradulate all those that got out… but I'm coming for you :)

Hope the Pit is still in the works because that shit is gonna be way more fun than jail
-
I might break a law or two just to explore it.

@no2ace:
I might break a law or two just to explore it.
And that's the reason we'll need The Pit.
-
Definitely encourages players to break the law because going to jail will be fun.

Hey guys tea party at my nest in the pit.
I can kind of understand the frustration with multiple factions all trying to be the lawkeepers but it's really more an IC political thing.
