IF the 50 Years for vs 5 comes.
-
I was gone a few months and feel to lazy to go back and read. But if it is still going to be a 50 gap come the new vs. Here is a neat quest that can be done.
Shira "59 years old" -Can you help me find my doggie?-
-Sure- [Go to the graveyard find the Shira's dog Tombstone and go back to Shira]
-Sorry your dog is dead-
-No that can't be, he is probably chasing a cat again-
[End]

Or it cold be part of the "exam" for that prestigae class that needs you to spend time with undead

The New Porry Hatter quest:
"Adventurer, when I was gone for my studies to become an archmage a Cult of the Were-Rat has grown in the basement of my house. It now threatens to destroy all of Arabel! You must gather others to stop them before it is too late." //7-12lvl 3-10
The New Sander's Chicken Quest:
Sanders has been captured by incredibly disgruntled demonic chickens. They now plan on sacrificing him to the Elder (Eldricht) Chicken God. If Arabel is ever to taste those wonderful chicken legs again they must be stopped! //5-8lvl 2-6
The New (Epic) Meat Delivery Quest (if things play out in a certain way):
Hunger is looming over Arabel, due the harsh Shadovar rule there is a huge shortage of meat in the entire city. You must head all the way to Zhentil Keep, obtain a Meat Shipment there and bring it back to Arabel, evading all the dangers of the road.
-
Should blow up cormyr just to make that quest happen.
-
Hehe those would be hardcore quests.
-
Celas has become the owner of Arabel's library and Peram the Mob Boss of a prominent crime family.
Celas quest: retrieve a stash of stolen books from Peram's compound
Peram's quest: Sneak undetected into the library and steal an expensive document.
-
Lost Shrine of Tyche:
Over the years the Lady's House has become a prominant temple in Arabel, but there were rumors that many years ago, some less prestigious Luckbringers worked to tend to an old crypt of the faith. When the old and defunct shrine was torn down to make way for expanding Arabel, rumors began circulating that the now forgotten crypt has become a haven for undeath and necromancy, beneath the city streets.
-
I'd expect some firm announcements on exactly what is happening in a few weeks. The DM team is going over a big discussion soon on this all.
-
Couple the none troll ideas for quests are decent, Keep those up.
-
quest:Search for any writings that might have been left by "Tymorans Lost in Rift" that ended up in the ruins after rift closure that describe what happened with Tymora and Rift. (not sure if was plothook or BS that I heard)
Quest:Find the old golem dumping ground from when Arabel was ruled by Mage guild breifly. recover a specific thing, be careful with magical energies near them, so they dont waken.
Linked quest: find old Shadovar portal remnants that Bedines guard, find activation means in helmsland/NK ruins where monsters roam, go back to portal, follow it, only to find it goes to underdark and/or arabel ruins where King Bhaliir-related stuff is found
A plot having to do with a newly made (50 years ago) godling of certain creatures rising out of the helmslands sands to seek dominance.

If the museam exists in V5, I'd like to see a few questgivers there doing research into the past. Each of them has a differnt level range but the same general idea: Going into a dangerous area rumored to be a loctation of a past plot and retrieving either artifacts or lore on said event for the Library/museam.
Some random ideas being:
Sent to ruins below the palace to find evidence of the Staff of Ilmater
Sent to Hullack to find relics relating to Raghat's Reign of Destruction
Sent into a deep part of the sewers to find traces of the Slime Cult
Sent into the Ruins to find artifacts of Lyss/Rift/Shadovar or any other plot relating
Sent into the underdark seeking evidence of (sp?) plots relating there.Would be a fun way to preserve the past of Arabel in a way that even new players will get to see a piece of old plots, and maybe bring some form of conclution to things that were left ambigious at the end of this version.

How about something like the current wagon axle search, but this time it is someone doing a history book and wants you to go to the graveyard and find a random tombstone each time. The individual would be a random NPC of renown like Kresswell, Maleen, etc.
A simple lvl 1-3/4, 1 party.
Meat Run–-Booze run. Someone in the slums wants you to boot leg a crate of imported ale and you have to deliver it.
Bread delivery-----similar one or Letter delivery, You deliver a letter to a spy or noble.......May open it and decide to either deliver it opened and get yelled at for it, or deliver it to the opposing party.
[Example] You were asked to deliver this letter to one {random NPC} The letter could be a simple love letter were no harm no foul,, Or could be a letter to a spy and if opened can then be delivered to the authorities. Opened love letter delivered =1/2 XP non opened love letter = Full XP, a spy note delivered =1/2 XP or authorities = full XP.
This is Cormyr, Cat are loved…...Cat up a tree were you have to role a DEX check to get it down.

@Zargen:

I love this idea! It adds a bit of randomness and choice to a simple delivery quest.

I remember long time ago . .. there was a orcs quest in the sewer.. and when you do this quest….and a other one it unlock some ORCS slums invasion....
I not said it be cool to have this quest again in particular.. .. but I like the idea of having to do a quest for unlocked a other one...
AS finding part of key and having to find all for open a crypte... ( there already DM game about this)...but make it a scrypted quest.
Hope you gone fixe the Hullack quest too..or creat a new one..
I realy like when we need a scout for quest.. it push players to not run when they afraid to fall in a traps..or when it take specific skill or abillity ..

I think a quest that starts a little differently would be cool. Like, one you could "accidentally" fall into.
Like insulting an NPC results in something bad happening to you, or something similiar.
Imagine going to Sheila the vampire now, and saying "Oh I don't deal with disgusting vampires." in the dialogue option. Imagine if instead it resulted in you and your team having to escape from a bloody vampire lair.
For v5 I imagine it would be kind of fun to approach some powerful NPC, evil or good, insult them, and have to escape their dungeon. Just think it'd be neat.

The above. I approve of it. That is just plain awesome sauce with extra cool all over it.
