V5 NPCs?
-
Just for fun, what current PC would you like to see as an NPC in v5, and why? I'd say Rav, the artist, since she's pretty much been around the entire time I've been playing in CoA.
-
Is this where we all put our own PCs?
Seriously though, Seter's Hound is one character that consistently raises the rp standard in my playtimes, he is involved in loads of stuff but has been there long enough to warrant some sort of continuance (not to mention he is an elf and would still be alive and active in V5!)

I agree. Hound has been the quintessential elf for, what, over a year now? He should be NPC'd.
Edit: And yes, Rav too. I think she should actually be in the Road to Arabel area to greet new players, since that's what she does IG anyway. :)

Rav definitely deserves to be made into an NPC given how much history she has on this server.
-
I'd go with Rav since she's basically a landmark!
-
Malverick Anatara and Jhavier Lizardclaw.
Unless something happened to them that I don't know about, short of leaving the city or something.
-
Rav, Count my vote in, though I hear Darlene speak of it as if she didn't want it to happen.

I liked this idea very much. I once told her OOCly i considered the "baptism" of my char to meet Rav IG. :D
I would like to see this;
-
Rav +1 :D
-
Definatley Hound.
James Raventree would make sense to see.
Abraxthas is a given, for me.Beyond those top listings, there are so many people I would like to see, this is a very old server, and alot of us has had fun times for such a long time, that it would be awesome to see alittle bit of all the people who make everyday CoA a fun place to be. As much as the select few, such as those mentioned above, spearhead the fun of the server, it's all of us collectively that makes this place what it is.

Many of my characters worked with Rav since I started. That Character been here longer than myself.
I want to see Rav an NPC in V5
-
rav definately
hound should be an elderly teaching fed ex elf
we have one evil half dragon in the fugue already npc so lets use neo's aurixvrak instead of abrax
-
Its post-apocalyptic, meaning everyone died in the apocalypse.
Vampire-Rav would be the only one left alive. The rest are zombies.
Zombie Raventree. Of the Order of the Dead Hart. -

I would be incredibly flattered. Like, giggly flattered.

With all due respect to the DM team, I don't think any PC could be as accurately (or personally) portrayed enough to represent who the character actually was when played by their player. Novo is an easy example. It just feels hollow.
-
I don't mind small things that commemorate earlier events that were of great importance, such as history books in the library, plaques like the one in Flynn speaking of all the knights who sacrificed themselves, etc. But leaving previous PCs as NPCs just appears to serve one sole purpose: stroking the ego (read: e-peen) of the players who once played them, and nothing else. If you want your character to have a lingering presence, don't retire/die. Otherwise it just becomes a way for people to be smug and feel good about themselves. "Yeah, see that NPC? That's my old character, his balls were made of pure awesome." This adds nothing, really.
And as Kat just said; its hollow, shallow and pointless. I don't mean to offend anyone or be a hater, but I see no point whatsoever in doing this.
-
Respectfully, I disagree.
It isn't only a reward for people, but also an example for others, and more importantly an approachable reference for future characters, so they can learn about the past times. And I really don't mind the reward-aspect of this habit of the DM team. What's wrong with being proud on old characters' achievements?
-
Nothing really. I've never had a problem with a little pe- er… ego stroking.
Of course I've got a really really BIG ego anyway so I guess I'm a little biased.
I guess what I'm really trying to say is having PCs show up as NPCs is actually a really cool reward to recieve, especially for us egotistical bastards, but the problem of saying "Oh remember that character of mine that had balls that turned into DIAMONDS?" Is going to happen anyway.
Because of me.
I'm going to be like that whether I have an NPC or not. :P

Agreed, it's just a fun reward system for the people who have earned it. And, you know, some people deserve to say, "You see that guy? Yeah, I played him. He did X, and I'm proud of that."
That's why aueft's Riautu is the "other" whitelight option. It's why Novo is in the Guildhall. They earned it.

This is my lazy way of supporting the same thing. Thanks for writing this. :)
