Quest turn in gp and xp 450 gold 361 expThis quest was ENTIRELY consisting of fighting high AC cursed Monks and undead cats and NOTHING ELSE. It was a slog and not fun in the slightest.
The loot was hilariously bad and so utterly lacklustre in quantity I was appalled.
What on earth happened to this once fun quest? Why have you massacred my boy?
Why the hell was it reworked? Turn it back! It was far more fun in the past!

I was on said quest, and yes it was a bit of a slog with the same enemies in the same looking big, empty rooms - the Monks also seemed to spawn already injured, and I think set off the traps on the quest too.

@jalafoon DR wasnt the problem, it was hitting them. If i hit a big hp pool enemy that's fine, hitting stuff with swords is cool. seeing

It’s just a very boring, samey, sloggy quest with not very good loot that’s a long way off the beaten path.
I don’t know why you’d chose to do it, I won’t be back any time soon!

This quest has always had bad area layout but now it has bad mobs AND 75% of the loot containers have been removed
All round another one for the 'not doing this quest again' list.

Quest has 25 undead variations and over a dozen treasure spawns, will have to see if others have the same issue before making any tweaks.

This is a known issue.Yes, they are stepping on the traps.But hey, that keeps you from stepping on them, ha ha!

Lots of options here on how to defeat the enemy. And as puffy mentioned, there are 25 options for what gets spawned, which is dependent upon party members levels and summons m -

We did this quest last night with 3 characters, levels 7/9/9 i think.
Our experience was very much as zolm originally posted, cats and monks only.
Having read the diary in the tower room there are names and descriptions in that that could easily be used within the quest spawns to add to the theme and lore of the quest. (eg the lathanderite priest that was incarcerated)

Have done this a couple of times recently and agree it has become very boring. Today I did it with two of us, one level 9 and one level 7 but it was similar when i last did it with four or five.
All we fought were skeletal cats and skeletal arcanists. Was generally only 3 or 4 spawns on each floor, not a lot for such large areas. Felt very easy for the gold reward and loot was also very sparse and lacklustre. Overall it was a bit of a snooze fest.
