War with Tilverton

So I got told there's a war with Tilverton now. That they're doing infernalism and what not in there.
What's known? And what's the plan?

Mordecai leads the defence/offence of the city, the council of twleve supposedly provides a selecetion of voices with regards to the factions that might support.
Little seems to be done so far as i have seen, but then i have been absent myself in recent times. I have been seeking Wraithowl in the Hullack and believe that he is wounded and cornered, soon we must push for his head.

Everyone's going to be focused on the war I bet. We need to keep an eye on the evils that lurk all around. They might take advantages of it while everyone aint looking their way no more.
And we can apparently add necromancy to the list of evils done in Tilverton.

I have been in discussion with Mordecai about the ill thought out plans that are being proposed for the Marches. I have volunteered that we, the fellowship, will carry out a surprise action.
There are explosive devices stored in Immersea that we might acquire and bring to Hillmarch to use to explode the mines blocking the passage to the marches and removing them from the equation of the war entirely. It will cost to reopen them should we prove to be victorious over tilverton but that is likely a price worth paying to ensure that the coffers and attention of the city are focused on actually winning the war ratehr than grandstanding and playing with their ulterior motives around the marches.
Sapphire i would have you help me in this and any other that would volunteer to aid. I stress that this needs to be kept secret, any revelation might remove the possibility of success.
I knwo that should we succeed and our part in the plan become clear that we will be held to account, but i see that this is a way forward that will provide the greater good for the city and region. The fellowship can disavow me after the fact if it is deemed politically expident.

I'm in.
The Wildwalkers can figure out how to get rid of the outsiders either once the war is over or in another route to there.
Annoying we got to do it that way but we got to pick priorities.

@Cadiz
Archer,
Iverlesk has approached me, seeking to buy our vote, and having me convince you to vote with him. Any good ideas of how we can use this to our advantage? Especially, knowing what we are planning?Oaks

See how desperate he is, i doubt that he has anything worthwhile to offer.
Our plan is made and unless something dramatic happens i would not alter it.Archer

I have been pondering, since hearing that the Skulls have "stolen" Misrims family. The skulls are little better than their zhentarim masters. Whatver they wish with that family, it can only be nefarious. Have we considered freeing them from captivity?
Esvele
-
First time I hear of any family being kidnap. Who got kidnap and which Misrim would that be?
If its kids, we need to rescue them. No question there.
Go any details?
-SAPPHIRE

I presume that you have noticed the rumoured prize Adrian sees in his future , lands in Hillmarch gifted to him?
His motivations become more clear, though still as self serving as predicted.

@Cadiz
The deed is done. However, I doubt our involvement will stay hidden for long. So what do we do? Do we have any allies to turn to for leniency, or another path forward?Esvele
-
It will be clear to all that i was there and likely your description from the duel. A short throw to assume that our Sapphire was the hin involved.
I suggest that we try to keep the blame oursleves so as to not interfere with any other plans for the war, but we ought to plan what we do next because standing still is not an option.
I am duty bound to hunt he of green and gold - the Duke Obyn - and bring him dead or alive to the Hullack. I doubt that this is achievable with stealth and subtefuge but it is a path we ought to consiider as all prepare for war. If we could end this war before it began then countless lives would be saved.
Maybe this archmage would be ameanable to managing a teleportation for us, to within Tilverton that we might move on Obyn directly.

@Cadiz @TheMinionOfArabel
I have pondered it and I too Think we should simply own up to what we did. The Fellowship has been seen as individuals, not a United front. So now we stand forth, and show we are the moral backbone of the city. Inform Them why we did it. And see where the chips Fall. If all goes to shit, then we will find a Way forward together.The important part is to show that we did it to support the war effort, not as an act of treason.
Esvele -
@O-louth said in War with Tilverton:
@Cadiz @TheMinionOfArabelI have taken the liberty of letting my pen do the work. I propose we make this public. It will shield the involvement of House Cormaeril, as we take full responsibility. And at the same time, it announces to the entire country, why we did what we did, and that we would happily do it again. Instead of hiding, perhaps by owning up to our actions, we can draw enough support to ensure that we do not find ourselves beheaded outside the palace.
Esvele
To my fellow countrymen,
Last night, several explosives were stolen from a military warehouse in Immersea. These explosives were used to seal the tunnels running from the marches to Hillmarch, to ensure that they could not be used by any advancing army to circumvent Arabel’s defenses. Beyond a few sore spots and bruised egos, no man was harmed by these actions.
We acted, to remind the Council of 12, that winning the war takes priority over profit or self-interest. The Council sought to empty the coffers of Arabel, spending ALL of it on one Archmage, who could clean up the northern marches. Not because they are afraid of a few devils. The devils have been there for years. It is not a new issue; it is an old one. They did this, solely to line their own pockets, by expanding the spoils of war. Spoils that they could divide amongst themselves, once Arabel have won.
Instead of buying armors for our soldiers, instead of arming them with more than bended spears, tired leathers and buckets for helmets, they wanted to increase their future profits.
We did not commit an act of treason. We did not attempt to revolt against the Crown. But when Arabel loses its way, it is the obligation of every man or woman, to shepherd them back upon the right path.
Arabel is the land of fortune, the chosen seat of Tymora herself. We took great risk, to help steer the Council of 12, and show them the right path.
Our eastern flank is now secured. It did not take an archmage, it did not take emptying the coffers of Arabel. It only took the bold action of a few brave souls, who were willing to do what was right.
For too long have good men stood idly by, while others committed the most horrid of actions. House Florent, The Precepts, The Black Tower. The list of dark deeds being committed, because those who know right from wrong, did not have the courage to act.
Long live the King, long live Arabel, and may fortune favor the bold.
We are the Fellowship. And we are no longer idle. -
Your words ring with truth.
Make it so.

The piss of panic implicates us all, you bumbling idiots.
Your confession gives fuel to our enemies and damages our efforts in other areas, why, in the name of all that is sane did you CONFESS?
Why did you do their job for them?
Now, we'll look like lowly terrorists who do not abide good law and common sense. The individualistic nature of the Fellowship was an asset and now you paint us all part of your ill-ran conspiracy. It was designed in such a way that if one of us found a cause worth falling on a sword for, the rest of us had plausible deniability and could shift blame elsewhere- the deed of one does not paint the rest.
Now, you 'stand as one' and shall 'fall' as one.
Matrim is not a merciful king, you best pray it is the Queen who presides in judgment.

@SpiffyMeister
Miss Winter,
We got spotted. By a Council Member, no less. One who from what I could gather from my talks with Iverlesk, agreed to the idea of the Archmage. As so, we would be discovered, and our three active operatives would be hunted down, despite whatever desire we had to hide our involvement.By owning the action, we at least have the opportunity to make use of the situation and talk around town, to draw in some much needed allies, as well as to shield the involvement of Ser Cormaeril, who is our only real ally within the city currently.
You say plausible deniability. I say that to the general adventuring population, we appear as idly cowards, who hide in Collinwood, speaking high and mighty about doing good, but at the end of the day merely being the very symbol of inaction against evil.
Our actions yesterday, gives us a chance to step out from the shadows, and use the bold move as a beacon for attracting much needed allies to our cause. Do we gamble with King Matrim being royally pissed and vindictive? Yes. But hopefully there is something to gain by it as well. We risk our lives, to kick good folk slumbering, out of their beds, so they may voice their support to us.
But if all you see is desperation, then you need only ask and I shall proudly resign from the Fellowship alongside Archer, and you can go back to denying the involvement of the Fellowship.

I do love the One for all, all for one type vibe you have going, sweetie, but allow me to illuminate you to some realities of the situation.
- Politics will always be a part of any organization. A group of armed individuals is a threat and we need to take actions to prevent being seen as such, or, at the very least, not as great as others.
We have proven, just now with this little confession, we can, and will, Oppose the designs of the King, his councils, and his plans. We have proven we will do so bravely, boldly, and even brag about it. We have proven we are a threat to his reign.
Do I make myself clear, Esvele? I will do my best to mitigate whatever clusterfuck you have landed yourself into but I will not see you destroy the Fellowship because of your ill-thought plans, but well meaning principles.

@SpiffyMeister
We will not. I... I am a screw up, a jinx. Always have been. being born a bastard, often means you get the raw end of the deal.... But this thing, we did. That is the first time in a long long time, I felt I was doing something right. Something I was born to do. If someone needs to fall on their sword to protect this place, I shall.But perhaps an idea, Miss Winters. It has long been a thing of gossip, that the King and Queen are not always on the same page. King Matrim has his ghosts, and little by little, he has taken a good chunks of power away from our Queen.
Perhaps that is something we can leverage? She needs people in her corner, so to speak. And from what I know of the two, she is the one most likely to see things our way. I am not of court, so I could not say for certain. But perhaps there is something in that idea, that may get us out of this debacle?
