The return of the Tressym

TRESSYMS
For too long has the land of Eveningstar mourned the departure of the Tressym, its population all but lost by the hands of greed and evil. With guidance from Wildwalker Junnen Borla, and Druidess Eowadrien Jooscilo, the Church of Lathander continues to lay offerings of fresh fish, and catnip by the Tressym Memorial located on the High Road. Whilst praying to the Morning Lord, to guide the beautiful winged felines back to our lands, and fill the void caused by their absence.
Shall any wish to aid the Church of Lathander, with this humble yet essential quest. Please aid the Church with offerings for the Tressyms, and utter prayers to Lathander, so the light may guide them back to their home.

Trueservant High Dawnlord Charisbonde Belon Bishop of Eveningstar.
Your grace, I humbly request you, to out law harming, slaying, or inflicting any pain upon the fleeing creature known as the Tressym. Even if they do not number our land now, already forces seek to harm them and frighten them away from the land of the Morning Lord. Let us act now, rather than later. Show a firm stance against the wicked, and that we can act swiftly.

On behalf of the small unit of Aster just recently transferring, I concur: Within the Bishopric, let us make hunting these creatures illegal. Though they are not specifically within the teaching of Lathander, to hunt these pleasant and endangered creatures for no reason other than sport or magical reagent is simple cruelty.

I will consider this.
But in truth, I see little point in it. The Tressym, while 'cute,' possess no theological importance or are important to the running of the village (and many have complained in the past about their propensity to thieve from the fishermen).
They are animals, nothing more, nothing less, and I am reluctant to abuse my authority in such a way that will put otherwise good citizens in poor standing for driving off the creatures if they do not wish them on their lands.
Maybe instead of an edict or law, we can merely ask the citizens to be tolerant to the creatures, and perhaps, set aside some food for the creatures instead?
Bishop Belon
In summary: If people view them as pests on lands they till and raise our crops on, they should be allowed to drive them away, much as any other unwanted guest or creature.

After thinking this over,
We can perhaps include them under the idea of chattel- making them the property of certain owners in Eveningstar if they so desire. If the Tressym misbehave, the collared creature's owner will be responsible for restitution to the person they troubled, or to the temple if otherwise troubled.
This said, I am extremely reluctant to do anything of the sort, the status quo is fine as it is now, Tressym are a curiosity, nothing more, did nothing for the village then, and will do nothing for it now.
The vehemence in defending these animals is quite curious.
