Closed: Councillor Ethel Blythe removed
-
I propose that due to the grave and numerous crimes, we cannot allow Ethel Blythe to remain a councillor.
She has a powerful necromantic artifact which taints the soul, possibly to the point of altering the individuals very free will, that she has linked her very soul to. This soul link itself may be by design, a deliberate ritual carried out by Ethel.
An attempt was made to undo councillor Blythe's careless use of the weave, which cost the life of another councillor, possibly adding murder to the list of charges.
List of charges are:
Murder
Redistribution of contraband items (A necromantic gem that taints an individuals soul)
Possession of contraband items (the same gem)
Magical CrimesNo attempt was made to have your soul altering/linking ritual sanctioned by the council so the full weight of this charged should be placed upon the list.

The fact that you accuse me of having conducted the ritual is a slander towards the late Councilor Tylel, who himself dictated and lead the ritual. I would never dare to claim ownership of another's job. The link was removed, successfully, by Councilor Tylel. The ignorance of others, caused disruption in the rite, leading to him sacrificing himself to complete the ritual.
Despite many rumors, I have not had any necromantic artifacts in my possession. Nor have I ever distributed any items, the Red Gem, or heart of the spirit as it should be known, has always been in Mr Shepard's care. Its the heart of a spirit, yes its corrupted, but it needs to be cleansed and freed.
The linking to the item is a rare but well known practice, which I performed to protect Mr Shepard. Few are willing to do so, for it comes at a greater cost.
Obviously, I object to this removal.

The fact that councillor tylel had to unlink your soul from the gem is the recklessness I speak of. That he died to repair your mistake is the reason you should be charged with his murder.
Councillor Elias Goldcrown
-
There was no unlinking of any soul, I am uncertain why you believe myself such a powerful wizard. The link was made on purpose, willingly, with my full knowledge. It was no mistake, neither was Councilor Tylel ever repairing any mistake. He was lending me his aid, but due to external disruptions the ritual was too much and he gave his life to complete it. Don't you dare to insult the late Councilor with your ridiculous conspiracy theories.
E.C. Blythe
-
So the link was made with your full knowledge, an admission to that at least.
I am led to believe that Councillor tylel was undoing this reckless act when he met his end did he not? With the intention of linking it your familiar.
Is this the truth of the matter?
Councillor Elias Goldcrown
-
Incorrect, Councilor Tylel was moving the link to my familiar to release me of the hearts burden. He was not undoing anything, he merely moved it from my heart to my familiar.

You may object but you cannot vote yourself against a vote for your removal.
From your own admission
Since the creation of the ring, I tied my essence to it to protect Mr Shepard from any possible failure on my side in its creation. This meant, that the draining and discomfort was directed at myself rather than Mr Shepard. It also ensured that whilst my body felt an addiction to feed the gem, I was unable to do so, since it was not in my possession. As time went by, the side effects became stronger and stronger, and thus Mr Shepard decided we needed to remove the link. As destroying it would had meant certain death for myself.
You tied a part of yourself to the ring, Which may well be a magical crime as it is magical tampering with the composition of the body or its humours I would summise.
-Magical Crimes- Animation or Control of the Undead. Summoning of planar beings from both lower and higher planes. Magical tampering with memory, mental states, or other compositions of an individual's body or their humors.
Whilst you may not have held the real gem you certainly made a decoy and tried to trick the Precepts Councillor, I would suggest a charge of Evasion of a Peace Official is fitting as well
-Evasion of a Peace Official- Intentional deception, evasion, or misdirection aimed at a member of the Council or Militia.
Had you done neither of these things a link would never have had to be moved and Councillor Tyrel would still be alive
I have to support the Precepts call for your removal

Yes, I tied a part of myself to the ring. Just as a wizard ties themselves to a familiar.
The decoy was not my idea, I merely created it upon the advise of Councilor Brutus, who was made aware that people sought to steal the artifact.
I have not crossed any lines as far as I am concerned. The fact you, a man of no arcane knowledge, is trying to argue over a matter of the arcane, is ridicilous.

Nothing illegal about making a decoy, and you ain't a authority in anything but freaks an sorcerers. Any attempt to seize the ring would be a violation of city law unless the city sanctioned you to do it.
I don't see a warrant, haven't seen any bounties placed.Stay in your lane Precept, why don't you find some freaks to suck some blood from?
-Brutus
-
Ah yes, Brutus, I forgot you were still permitted a vote here. Tell you what, if I want a consultation on the law I'll seek out a guard, and if I want to rob a caravan and engage in banditry I'll come and see you.
It seems we have two votes for and two against.
Councillor Elias Goldcrown

The accusations are without evidence or facts. Councilor Blythe works tirelessly to defend Arabel. My vote is that she remain on the Council.
Grete Moonsilver, Luckbringer
-
Numerous unsanctioned necromantic experiments with an artifact that easily satisfies the status of illegal contraband.
Secret rituals that result in the death of a councillor, conducted within the very home of the King and Queen no less.
It is good to see what some on this council find acceptable.

A few notes here...
- Councilors, can, indeed, vote against their own removal. Nothing says they cannot.
- Please sign your notes. Please. I am not here to pretend to know who you are and your handwritings.
- If you think someone was murdered, do something about it yourselves.
- Clerk Johnson
-
Lay off the beetle snuff Johnson. Can't vote if you're the one under review. It's in the bylaws somewhere.
Everything else sure. How's the wife?
Clerk Pinwall
-
Missus Pinwall is dong very well.
Oh, you meant mine.
I'd be more worried about your own right now.
- Johnson

A vote is still needed from Councillor Signe,
We must remember we should not abstain from votes

As i have stated elsewhere i cannot see but that Blythe has decieved the council and brought danger within the palace walls with her impetuous actions. That is misconduct that cannot be ignored.
