Remove Gorgon Bulls from the Forest of Eyes Mining Tunnels
-
The area name is Helmlands: Forgotten Tunnels.
The mobs in there can be pretty tough, but these mobs have a fairly high DC petrification breath that is just patently unfun to fail a save to.
With this area being mostly there for providing crafting nodes, I think it's a little much to have these mobs here. There's plenty of dangerous stuff in there, but these are just a little too much I think for anywhere outside of a dungeon.
They're in a few other places too, so if anyone can grab the area names I really think these things shouldn't be something you can just encounter out in the wild.
-
Maybe trim down the numbers a bit. I’ve encountered these mobs twice with a group and was able to handle it.
Without some threat like this though the crafting supplies would quickly be farmed into oblivion.
-
It is sort of in the nature of the crafting system that they NEED to be farmed into oblivion, so that isn't really a problem in of itself.
There's still plenty of other dangerous stuff down there, but these mobs are just... Boring. The counters are not widely available, the cure to petrification is only (as far as I am aware) available in the most upper tiers of Alchemy and through a scroll that costs quite a lot of gold.
If you fail the save you just don't get to play for the rest of the day if you're by yourself. There are already more interesting mobs down there that are plenty dangerous, I just don't think these effects should be found in the wild without better access to the countermeasures or cures.

Pieces of said Gorgons are also one of the thing you need for the crafting of certain items.
-
They're in the CARES system. They are drawn at random to spawn. It's impossible to remove them from one specific area without removing them from all areas. They are currently set to spawn a maximum of 1 at a time.
-
There might be something going on with CARES then because I only seem to spawn oozes and gorgons (with the rare spider or goblin mob). Or maybe I'm just that lucky. :)

@Sparr0w yep, random is random (or not because computers, but effectively)
