Case file: Stormhorn Skirmish

  • Precept Arcanum

    Councilors,

Today several members of the Scarlet Tobias the Bard, and Jack Wilds the Wizard made an attempt on the life of Dawnlord Jadzia and assaulted of several citizen of Arabel (Zarissa, Saul, Mikul) with the assistance of Greywatch member Clark Skinner and Gnome twins Boom & Bewm In the territory of the South Stormhorns.

The Precept were attacked by the Gnome twins followed shortly by the rest of the cabal of suspects as they encircled the prone form of a bleeding Dawnlord Jadzia, and several other victims. (Zarrisa, Saul, Mikul) upon entering the skirmish Two members of the cabal were downed for interrogation Gnomes Boom & Bewm before brief continued combat turn into full retreat by the cabal in question with Greywatch member Clark following suit after making attempts to injure several members of the Precept Arcanum and assisting civilians. (Trystan Rycroft, Sister Nethki, Marcus Baker, Blood Dragon Naresh)

The Incident appears to have been sparked by Scarlet member Jack Wild's failed attempts to enter the council, with Greywatch member Clark being confessed to "Wishing the death of Dawnlord Jadzia" by other witnesses. (Zarissa, Saul)

With the incident witness by all members and the flight from justice, I propose immediate bounties for the suspects at large. (Boom, Bewm, Jack Wilds, Tobias, Clark Skinner)

Ah. This may be the growing symptom of Jack's drinking vampire blood. Attested to by the late Dextar. Seeing how the blood of a vampire affected people who even smelt it, it's safe to say that Jack and those associated with him (the Syndicate specifically, perhaps the others noted) are acting with the blessing of a patron vampire.

In any case it is true that according to this testimony there are several persons guilty of Armed Assault. Seeing how Jadzia yet lives they are not guilty of Murder. This being a Major Offense, Clark is liable to be removed from his position in the Greywatch, while the others are all subject to whichever we feel will actually take: a hefty fine, or service to this Council for a tenday.
If Jadzia had actually been killed, then this would be Murder, and they would all face execution or exile.

Of course for the Syndicate I feel any of these punishments are moot, unless Obyn wishes to enforce the punishments of the King and Queen. Therefore a live bounty placed for their persons would be best; especially since it would allow the Precept and the Greywatch both to interrogate and test what may have occurred after Jack's imbibing vampire blood.

There is a man who openly drinks vampire blood walking the city freely, and there are no reports regarding it in our council files?

    This seems strange.

    -Clerk Johnson

  • Jack and his Scarlets have long been suspected of being beholder thralls because of the two of there number were confirmed, and we suspected Talla of being a spy working for the same, the same Talla who also tried to murder Jadzia.

Boom seemed a little crazy from what I've exprenced. Possible he was in it for the giggles.

Clark being there is odd one being there. Dispite Jadzia causing deep tensions with her angel summoning, I think it strange that he work with a group a fellow member of the Greywatch is investigating and we should work on the asumption that perhaps he's been thralled.

Bryce you know him best, what you think going off?

Just seen this. I think it dress up and misdirection to be blunt, because these guys have never acted like followers of Amaunator. Also calling a religious rival “Spell Beggar” seem very off to me, it term used by those with no respect for the gods in general, not a specific deity... like beholder cultists.

I believe we should just treat the group as a cult region wide and putting a dead or alive bounty on them, with these none Scarlet's being less clean cut, and thus wanted alive.

Their bounties have been announced per the request of the Council.

I was wondering how the Ravens were making so many points....

More to the point, it's more and clearer testimony for and against the parties involved. The clerks should update the bounty before someone manages to kill Clark; since it's uncertain whether he's involved I suggest again that it at least be that he be taken alive rather than dead.

Can this be exapnded upon? Received some mixed reports. Did he or did he not attack the Dawnlord?

This is a member of the greywatch. We should hear from their council regarding this transgression before condemnation.

Considering Clark stabbed one of my Crew, I'm much less willing to give him the benefit of the doubt or take the risk of bringing him in alive if I do not have to.

That all being said, I'm sure all best efforts will be made to bring all of the accused in for questioning and a proper public sentencing given the opportunity. Perhaps she might convince him to turn himself in?

    -Levi.

  • It is my understanding from reports that Clark did not attack the Dawnlord.

The attack on the Dawnlord was commited by the gnomes and Syndicate.

Clark attacked Trystran when he arrived as Trystran beat him the day before and had cut off one of Clarks legs for firing him for assisting Greg attack people to keep them from the Hullack.

The Precept then jumped in to assist Trystran.

In this case it seems like perjury from the Precepts councillor.

  • Precept Arcanum

The man made swings at myself, and Sister Nethki when she attempted to get close to heal the Dawnlord. The Scarlet's using Lightning bolts upon myself during the skirmish and he fled with the Scarlets once they began the retreat, in the same direction, . If your defense of his actions are "Well, he could have done worse", I must debate what worth you have to speak for your order's actions in a representative capacity at all. If the man had a defense to these accusations, he would not be fleeing.

Or are the Greywatch adverse to answering for their actions?

    -Blood Dragon, Naresh Sabzvari

  • Did you, Or did you not interfere and aid Trystran when Clark was trying to apprehend him in the stormhorns?

If so it is little wonder you got stabbed when you choose to aid a man who cut off Clarks leg.

    Bryce

  • Precept Arcanum

If you mean, did I react to being hit with several fireballs, lightning bolts, mind spells and conflagrations cast on us as we left the bend of trees. Yes, Bryce, I did interfere because my life was being put at risk and you seem to forget who the aggressors were in this situation. There was no conversations, no attempt at anything more than complete destruction of myself and others. Clark did not speak, or attempt to during the entire skirmish and aided the dangerous bloodcasters. A threat you seem quite invested in yet willfully ignorant of in this case.

Unless your idea of a civil discussion is liberal use of arcane artillery. Clark made no such concerns clear, and this attempt at deflecting his actions is an impotent display. We stumbled upon them and they reacted with force and when we could not be swiftly removed. They fled.

    He stabbed my Crew, Bryce.

If they say they did not start the fight with Clark, then as far as I am concerned that is the truth. Mistress Mistari's recollection of events not only seems to have massive gaps in this area (no doubt because she was being actively beaten to near-death by the men Clark ran off with) but does not align with my more general impressions of the man.

If he was innocent, why did he run with the Scarlets upon the conclusion of the battle? Why does every accounting, even Mistress Mistari's, have him fighting alongside the Scarlets? No accounting of events I have been privy to seems to have Clark siding with anyone save for the Scarlets, making little if any effort towards aiding the Dawnlord, and all have him actively fighting alongside them at one point or another.

These are men I once spent forty minutes talking down from murdering a child, and he sided with them over those who actively serve Arabel. Why are you protecting him? Is your distaste for the Precept so great you cannot see how wholly corrupt the man is? He may as well be working for Obyn with how much chaos the man has injected into Arabel by simply being an unrepentant moron.

    -Levi

  • Ok I heard some sending saying the Scarlet Cult is now working for the Greywatch, you know the ones we suspect of being beholder thralls and Raven spies, please tell me there some very steady logic behind this Bryce?

    Soppi of the Redwood

  • The only proveable crime on them is the assault in the mountains for which they were punished for. Both with the exile from Eveningstar and a solid beating from the Greywatch.

The rest of the charges is quite frankly throwing things and hoping something sticks.

    The bounties should be removed.

    Bryce

  • Twelve Peers

Bryce, if you actually did what you said you have, then you missed an opportunity to clear the bounty by bringing them in. That's exactly what the bounty calls for. If you believe the charges to be misrepresented, then you can defend them before the Council, while we have them captured.

The exile from Eveningstar still stands, so too will the bounty from the Crown.

    -Councilor Grurec, son of Torunden

  • The bounty also calls for them dead or alive.

Quite frankly I distrust at least 3 other councillors to not try and kill them in a cell due to hurt feelings over the mountain skirmish or thinking they are cultists.

    Bryce

  • Precept Arcanum

Your deflections make it quite difficult to determine where you allegiances lie, to the Scarlets or the palace. I do hope you weren't offered something in return for this simpering behavior your putting forth for criminals wanted by the Queen and King of the court.

Not to mention the lack of awareness that the prison is watched by the Palace's own guard, are you saying they would allow an unlawful slaughter of prisoners?
