Is there a DM policy on this? OOC consideration seems pretty simple a concept.

A certain PC that has been around 6 months (and is a relatively big plot character) was dry looted. Its very possible that someone gathered their things and will soon seek to return them, but its not been done yet. Being as I was the person originally trying to help, but was forced to leave before I could rescue the loot due to RL reasons, I feel extremely guilty over it. Finding someone you've never heard of before, that isn't online at the time, and you never see again, hardly qualifies I would think. But in this case, with a high level person with a lot of valuable gear, who's been around a long time, and is still online.. its just totally amoral as a player. Or a player that seems to think RPing evil requires you to make things less fun for others.

I attempted to locate the lootbag to hold as "ransom" to the PC in question. I found some of his items sold in shops.

Wow, kudos to the player for being a complete jackass.

Probably it has been done by a new player who is not aware of the "gravity" of the act on CoA.

I am sure that, in this case, DMs can help.

On a different but related note, if I find dead bodies in the wilderness and they are not logged on I feel entitled to loot them dry. Usually they have few coins and minor equipment, it never happened to me to find the ubersword of doom +3 or the fullplate of the neverdying hero. In such case I'd probably putting a note on the forum "general discussion"/"off topic" saying that I am holding their valuable gear.

If Chuck Norris had performed in 300, the film would be called 1.

1). Depends on the situation really. If they die on a quest and planned to respawn its pretty much unacceptable. If they plan to get a raise, it may be acceptable to take a few small items here and there. If you find a random corpse out in the wilds somewhere but the player is still in the Fugue, it may be acceptable to take items (that's the danger of traveling alone after all-you may die without friends around to help you). If you find a random corpse out somewhere, and the player isn't even in the Fugue still–I doubt anyone would think you out of bounds to loot the corpse.

2). Never call anyone a "complete jackass" it is simply not acceptable to degrade into name calling no matter how you feel about anyone.

3). If you think someone has broken rules, send us an e-mail. The General Discussion forum is simply not conducive to a useful conversation on this kind of topic. At worst, this belongs in the Ask a DM forum.

In the future, there are two simple rules to remember:

                NO SPITTING.

                DO NOT CROSS MISTER MOLOCH.
