Character Descriptions
-
I thought it was obvious why mine doesn't have one :P

With the new "." dot commands you can make a new one each time on the fly…lazy ass...
-
I'm terrible at writting bio's. lol. Wish that was an auto-generate interesting bio tool.

Yeah, i'll get right on that after my .shift command gets implemented so I dont' have to constantly cycle through a laggy glitch infested convo.

Because its one more thing I have to think about which really isn't worth it imo. I'll remember a character based on my interactions with them not by reading their description.
That is sooo lazy! And so inconsiderate of the players who really do value such. This game is about interacting with other people/players. Even if you don't read Bio's, it's clear from this thread that other players really value them and use them to initiate or guide the RP.
I usually tend to DM Kill people without character descriptions on sight.
I think, I'll follow your advice, Penguin!

Having a description is IMPORTANT as hell in a game with so few options on how you can make your character appear. To me it is VERY lazy and frankly quite stupid to make a character without one. It doesnt have to be long, just some basic info, are you tall? skinny? Young? Old!? Alot of these things are very hard to do with only the engine itself.
For John/Eagleman I purposely made "Johns" description take up one full "page" so you then have to scroll down to reveil "Eaglemans" discription. I thought that was clever.
Anyways, descriptions or go home!

Everyone but Shifters need one, imo.
-
Shifters need multiple. And thats do-able with .setbio
I changed my description when i shifted form as a druid whenever possible. Pretty tough to do in combat, but no ones checking desciptions at that point.
I created keyboard macros to automatically change my description for common forms. But i'm just sad. (i mean macros in separate software, not on the nwn hotbar)

There's a whole dark sub-world of RPGs where people go to to do weird things an and they are always overflowing with character descriptions that dig in the darkest depths of the thesaurus to come up with new ways to say "blonde" that nobody knows.
They're just words, man. But then again, if your prose is more violaceous than the gonads of a pathologically priapistic adolescent, you might just be overdoing it.

The .bio command answers a lot of questions since I looked at the only 3 random people I ran into on the server last night and they all had descriptions that required scrolling. As a result, I read none of them. I don't have time to read a description that long while I'm trying to maneuver through the marketplace. Yes, all three were hanging around the marketplace.

I actually have one these days, lol.
Though I'll forget to update it and people wonder why a dwarfs description is "The tremendous black wyrm seems angry and all set to eat you"

Spent so much time walking around with my druid, with my description being 'A dirty stinking rat!'
