A Heads Up
-
A group of griefers, calling themselves the 'NWN Greifers', have hit a lot of servers recently. If you are currently experiencing griefing problems, or have been recently, then I suspect they are the reason:
I have some of their IPs, so let me know if you need any further assistance in combatting this form of 'e-terrorism'.

I suppose the biggest group I've griefed in on NWN is 3, but I dream of raiding Arabel with a small army of half-orcs and dwarves. Imagine that. No DM on for 30 minutes. Utter chaos, slaying almost everyone. Dry-looting the corpses so that half of the server's collective inventory is effectively robbed.
this is from the board seems our friend must have been tossed before

Oh I'm totally joinging this new faction! they have their own forums!
-
There is a chapter in Hitler's Mein Kampf entitled 'The Strong Man is Mightiest Alone'.
I'm not really sure if that's true, but let's briefly analyse whether it applies to griefing.
I'm quite new to the whole team-griefing thing. I've done quite a bit of griefing in a duo, and a lot of solo griefing.
The beauty of solo griefing is that you have that total freedom. Griefing itself is already liberating, and as a solo griefer on an RP server you feel in total control. While Billy Bob Roleplayer is emoting in great detail that he is quietly reading a book, you're suddenly impaling his head with an axe. There is that element of unconfined speed, as well as the off-the-cuff decision-making and panache.
This guy A) Is very funny, B) has waaaay too much time on his hands, and C) likely a sham. Entertaining read though.
-
Failure at life does that sometimes. :D
-
They struck today, infact, or someone similar. I was the sole casualty. I went for my axe, and removed my armor by accident instead.
-
I kindof like the violent half orcs running around. If only they'd rp as stupid criminals rather than run around going "Lolololol U suck" It'd give something for the law officials to do.

Also if they would attack in situations/areas that make sense, crowded areas with multiple (NPC) guards around are not the place in which an ambush should be sprung…
-
Anyway, can't a pc equipment be retrieved looking at the server logs?

this was my favourite quote:
Griefing is good for you. Griefing allows you to be part of a community. We don't judge each other, but respect and admire each other's griefing abilities and achievements. There is no community quite like a griefing community. Our respect for each other is immense. In our community, you always have a role to play. What's more, griefing opens up the mind and is probably healthier than most 'roleplaying'.

Griefing opens teh mind..
wow a new religion..where is the tower?
Where is my gun? -
What a group of losers.
-
Descend to their level?
Yeah, thank you, but no thank you. There is only one way to deal with greifers as a player with no power to ban them, and that is to pay them the smallest possible amount of attention.
If they do not get attention, they get bored and go find someone who WILL bitch and scream.
-
Well, looks like a few people need a life. "Oh, I hate RPers so much. I'll just stay on my computer all day and be a slight inconvenience to them! Yeah, that'll show em. That'll show em all!"
-
All of this.. This… Just made me LOL.

We are now accepting applications for NWN Griefers.

Yeah this and realize how exceptionally special some people are but very few are this funny.

Poor losers… obviously they are nerds with no social life and griefing brings some joy to their pitiful existances and makes them feel like they are someone.
Anything to escape the sad reality, eh guys?
