Teapot vs Beholder: DM reaction
-
so yeah! forgot to take awsome screenies of the actual fight but, long story short, I took on a beholder mostly onmy own! sent Teapots after it and its thralls. Needless to say, there was a lot of explosions going on and beholder rays having no effect on lovely little teapots.
Once the battle was over (and so quickly without any death on our side), here is Harry's reaction:
-
I told them, buy Teapot Traps, I told them, Millennium Hand and Shrimp
-
I "lol"ed until I peed my pants.
-
I was cheering the teapots
-
Harry sent me lots of tells as well. I think he was dumbfounded that we all weren't dead!
I know I expected us all to die against a Beholder and a room full of cultist scum…But, yeah! Teapots saved the day!
-
I think my wife heard my incredulity from the other room.

The boss fight was hilarious!

Why oh why would you taunt him like this? Remind me to stay far away from the retribution that shall follow!
Looks like it was fun though.

All I can say is…....
Wow.
:)

Yep, beholders can not kill constructs very well, immune to all the eye rays except negative damage.
-
I'm sure someone else in my suite heard me giggling profusely at this. Well done.

On a more serious note, though. Awesome use of resources on hand and excellent thinking. I wish you were well rewarded for the efforst! -

I aim for 40% of the party on big quests.

Which means if you quest with Olen in a 5 party that means you only have a 1 in 4 chance of visiting the fugue vs a 2 in 5. Go with Andros in a party of three, and be almost guaranteed to live.
