Faction recruitment drive
-
We're looking to get more characters into just about every faction. There's going to be a few changes coming in the near future that should spring some new life and kick-ass into the factions and outline their goals a bit further, it's a good time to send in your applications and start working towards earning membership IG.
-
Yeah man, I even have a "Chaotic Good" character working for the Zhentarim >.>
P.S, I need an Alignment Change….
BTW, Factions good, join them.
-
I'd like to suggest that more information on the factions be revealed. I was recently chatting with a former NoWhere player, who mentioned the basic idea behind the group and it instantly sounded incredible.
I started thinking that if I had known more about the group, I would have apped for one, or at least pursued the PCs for plots a lot more.
-
Join. Do it.
Got questions, get in IRC and ask a DM.
Speak with the PC faction members.
-
I promise that the best possible way to get involved in both player and DM plots is through a DM faction. Additionally, since you interact with the DMs so often in a faction, you get XP very often. Thats a good reason to join one. More so, you're more likely to get loot.
There's literally no reason not to.
-
I would love to join a faction, however my playing times are so irregular and infrequent that I couldn't further the intrigue to a level that I would feel justified taking on a faction character. :?
-
I would app for a faction if I could delude myself into thinking the app would be accepted.

#coacharacters
Regular help is given there.
Don't be afraid to write applications and ask others to help you out. Take a Tymoran approach, fortune favors the bold. Having an app rejected means you only lost a couple mins of writing the application. And if you invest serious time into it, a DM's help can make it work I'm sure.
Generally, factions aren't hard to get into.
-
I know there are DMs that are willing to help you work on an application as well. The added benefit here is that they have a stronger idea of what you're trying to create and can mention that to their fellow DM's.
-
Yeah, I was being a bit melodramatic. I can get accepted. I'm gonna write an app in the future, definitely.
-
I'd app again but I play like, twice a week. :-/
-
I believe William is making friendly advances with the Red Hart, though I didn't want to say anything because last I heard, they were overcrowded. >.>

You can get lots done playing twice a week.

That's okay we kill some off every now and then to make room

Why haven't you given me your exact playing times and dates? Are you avoiding me or something Ord? Huh Huh Huh?

App and see! Alternatively speak with a DM.

Elsbeth and I would like to re-invigorate Fivestar. How about heading there? Lots of possibilites as a crafting merchant. Guards are always welcome IG. We could do a whole heap with intrigue. Adventure searching for rare artifacts to sell and make money with is also fun.
-
I'd probably app for a faction but there are no current factions that my character knows about which she would participate in.
On an ooc level, though, I'm horrible with follow through so I tend to want to avoid putting in apps for fear of disappointing people.

Good to see I'm not the only one

Not to mention, there is LOTS for Five Stars to do, while making heaps of money if you pursue that.
Its a perfect cover story for being a member of strange cults, obscure factions not typically represented alone in Arabel. People from the Cult of the Dragon to the Luskan Brotherhood, to the Twisted Rune could all theoretically be hiding in the group.
Beyond that, Sembites organized the civil war. They used it to pry Arabel away from Cormyr to enrich themselves. Plenty of Sembites will be come to the city now to try to squeeze every last drop of gold out of the town too.
