Recommended Overrides - Optional

A nice little override I found on the Vault recently.
Really freshens up (if that's appropriate in the context of the walking dead) the appearance of the ghoul and related species.Grab this here.
And while you're at it, grab the re-skin here.
Unfortunately, the ghast isn't included, but that's simple enough to remedy:
Just make a copy of either the c_ghoul or c_ghoullord file in your override folder (whichever you prefer) and rename the copy c_Ghast and you're all set.
Following the re-skin (if one should choose to go that path) you'll be seeing ghouls that resemble this and this.
A welcome improvement by my accounting.

This won't interfere with servers that don't use this override, I presume.
-
It's a client-side override, so wherever you see a ghoul, provided you have this installed, it'll appear as exhibited.
-
are there any other overides CoA recommends?
-
I'm recommending it, personally.
There are no "official" overrides (excepting the Luck Domain 2da file which can be downloaded from the home/main site) in use by City of Arabel. There was a thread here somewhere, once-upon-a-time, but it appears to have been inhumed.
It was an old thread however.
So, if folks have any recommendations for new, shiny and useful overrides, feel free to post them.Except head overrides.
More often than not, anyone using those ends up with a headless character, which subsequently needs to be remade. -
Woah! Huge improvement over previous skins. HUGE!
And I agree. Overrides are a nice little addition so long as they aren't interfearing with other people's gameplay. You may feel free to recommend any other spiffy ones you use or know of :D

Good find, I'll certainly be using it. To be honest, I have always been somewhat underwhelmed by the default ghouls- even zombies manage to out-creepy them.
-
Oh those are definatly going into the collection. I have a lot of overrides, mostly textures.
Used always:
kurairyu's hands 1.5
Updated Werewolf Model
C.R.A.P. Kobold Reskins
Redux: Weapon Texture Override
New Orcs,Bear,Spider,Troll
Platinum-haired NymphI also use bits of the World of Aenea PW GUI
Personal preference textures:
Skull Helm Retexture
A snowy-looking tts01_stone20 for Winter Rural
Red PseudoDragon
Texture Fix for Bioware Bebilith Model -
Looks awsome, I'll be installing it as soon as I'm back on my own computer.

At one point, some people here made a override to change colors so the default (this was pre-dyeing) ranger gear colors would blend in more.
Personally, I'd suggest NOT using any overrides that change appearance (of characters) too much, as it can lead to you trying to describe someone else (such as to a guard) in a way that simply has no relation to what another person sees. Especially when it is "suggested" to not say describes Randy Mcfandy, it is important to not use overrides that change clothing, color, or heads.
-
Sorry for the noobish question. But to get the overrides to work, do I just have to put the files into teh override folder in the NWN folder ?
-
most of the time its writen in the details or under the file when you load the page
-
On this note, does anyone know where i can get the standard textures? I downloaded some stuff when i played on a arena server (Antiworld) which removed the blood and a few skill animations.. I kinda miss them now :(
-
Bowstrings!
Original Running Animations
Cave CeilingsHope you enjoy these as much as I do
-
With the adveent of 1.67/1.68, the bowstring override is probably pointless now. Upto whoever still uses it to judge, though!
-
Does that original running animations make cloaks all wonky? I also noticed it changes the large phenotype. How much does it change it?
-
yeah i think it makes them stiff
-
Yep, it does.. I want it back to normal but i dunno how >.<
-
Just take the files out of you override folder
-
It didn't work for me :(
Should i remove them from all override folders? "override_bak" "override_bak0" aswell?
