where do I go when I want to roll back with the beamdog client?
-
guys,
missing custom talk table
NWN EE
steam workshopwhere do I go with this issue?
-
The tlk is in the download. OPen your steam workshop and look for the most recently DLed folder. Should be in there under a .tlk folder.
-
I am going to hit you with your least favourite reply; "WTF I can't find any of this stuff." ok now that we have this out of the way;
Where on the workshop is this latest folder?
Where do I move the tlk to?
I don't have a .tlk folder in my steam library/etc/neverwinter Nights, now what? -
Not sure what the problem is, just subscribe on steam?
-
I have done so. I have also unsubscribed, exited steam, restarted steam and subscribed again. Your adivce is unhelpful, Joe :(
-
@zolm I'm having the same problem. The tlk is NOT in the hak download.
I do not use Steam. I have an original install of NWN patched to 1.69, and am accessing EE through Beamdog.
I've sent an e-mail to the designated "contact us" address, and have received no reply.
Do you use CEP here? If so, which version? Perhaps this is the problem?
-
I'm sorry we haven't gotten back to you! For quick replies you can refer to our discord channel: https://discord.gg/BK6AsgW
In regards of the haks and tlk, I'm looking into setting up a manual download -

We do not use CEP.
As for the email, sorry! It's not one I check regularly.
I am updating our Google Drive today with the current haks. I will reply here with a link as soon as I'm done.
PS, Check your email ;)

@puffy Thank you!
-
@echo Thanks much!

@mattnoto Okay, now this is getting ridiculous! The server, which was online yesterday, appears to be offline today.
In the meantime, beamdog updated my software. Related?
-
Yes, it's related. You'll need to roll back.
-
@echo And that would be helpful, if I was using Steam. I don't.
I have an original install patched to 1.69 and connect via Beamdog client. I have checked the Beamdog forums for how to roll back, but they have no info.
Any suggestions?
-
If you’re using 1.69 then you do not have EE, which starts at 1.74

Yeah... you need to actually install the EE stuff via Beamdog client - you cant connect if you are running 1.69 at all
-
@echo I have Beamdog installed. I could connect to your server (but not play because of the missing tlk table), so no, I don't think that's (not having a 1.74-compliant version. Isn't that what the client software was supposed to provide?) the issue.
After the Beamdog update, your server shows as offline. This would lead me to believe the issue is the server, as other servers I've visited are still listed as online.
I guess I will have to try another server, then. I thank you for your assistance, though.
-
Yeah, @CrystalRL posted something about that, you basically need to roll back to before the update until a DM can have a look at it
-
@joekickass Except that Beamdog does not provide a rollback option. This is because Beamdog does not wish to support v1.69 or older installs going forward, from what I can gather.
So, I guess this means I can't join your little community.
I'm currently at (Beamdog) v 8179 (NWN 1.76).
NWN 1.74 is Beamdog v 8166. So, the issue is definitely an incompatibility between client and server.
This stuff is new to everyone, so I'm not surprised there's confusion and hair-pulling everywhere.
Again, thank you for your time and patience!
