A sad day for the wee hours of the server
-
A sender in shylocks that doesnt charge 3.5 times as much gold would be nice!
-
Yes there is,haven't you seen them?
In fact no.
a very strong "thug" team at the moment that tends to show up and demand gold, or forces you to PvP
I find the implication that we are attacking anyone that wants to go questing offensive.
Should we bump into others then some RP maybe even conflict will arise but we do not follow questing groups around waiting to gank them, that's just lame.
Even known enemies are often given the chance to run away screaming,if they choose not to take that option then they can't complain about getting a beating. -
Ok, I was trying to lighten the mood with my response. :-)
All I've ever done with the current group of big bads, with 3 notable exceptions,
is RP.
However, knowing that there is a price on wills head, makes it less likely that Im going to make a sending and let the server know where Im going to be with all my soft bits being exposed ;-)Its not being cliquish, its not being exclusive, its being smart.
I will party up with any one in the spire, even as a lawfull good Pally–
I have no idea who is evil or not, except by actions, cant see evil done if Im not with a group.Any way, BIg Bad-- nice job keeping us on our toes.

i have encountered this today in the game, i was really simply ignored and excluded from a party, was i upset? nope
but someone else was similarly excluded at the same time(he made note of it to me via a tell, and was astounded at how my words went unheard, or acknowledged, i felt bad for him, not myself, as it does not bother me..really) , that is not good for the server, myself people know excluding me hurts no one, as i can and will find something else to do..even with no one else on
the thing i do miss from the v4 arabel is the ability to acquire gold via deliveries at any level, this meant i could stock up on gold for supplies, ie: healing wands to aid others in quests, supplies to aid new characters (and potential allies, this aspect of the RP is now sadly lacking for me now), and gold for coveted items in the various vendors.
some of those quests would nice again, especially for those of us who are excluded from events/quest train
-
What happens in my case many times is that I will make or respond to a sending and we get 5-7 people, and then go do a quest. Now that we already have a 5-7 person group, which is close to the party maximum, and we are far outside the city where there is no resting without campfires and no senders.
Now with my limited time do I -
-
Take the 45 minutes it would take to hike back to the city, make a sending, wait, and hike back out to the next quest just to grab one more person and completely max the party out; or,
-
Walk the one transition to the next quest with my party of 7 that has an 8 cap anyway and save an hour?
I pretty much always pick 2. It's not personal, I'm not being exclusionary, I'm not min/maxing the quest. I'm min/maxing my TIME.

Moloch said he was going to make a change in the questing system about rewarding larger parties. If this is implemented I think you should expect to see a change in this.
So, just wondering if this was ever implemented, and if not… Can it? that would be awesome.
Okay bye,
Lucky -
I've made several suggestions regarding party size and xp/money gain. I'm glad that it seems to be on the verge of being implemented. :)
-
There are issues with larger quest parties.
-
They tend to focus on "Splat Red"
-
Folks are too busy splatting red to talk, shame on you, even RP.
-
Folks are too worried about their buffs running out to plan a manoeuvre. It can be so much fun planning an assault on a group.
Q'lerb, you take the left flank. I'll move up the right, and leave Godrick to march up the centre. Priest Calford, you move up and support Godrick once he's engaged, and keep him alive with your healing. I'll step in and cover you if it gets difficult. Jancise and Lyra, you target the mage with your bow and spells.
How much more inclusive is that than just "Charge", albeit, there are some PCs for which "Charge" is wholly appropriate, and awesome fun!
-
Front liners often charge ahead, leaving flankers and rear-guard vulnerable, or just leave them bored ridged while they catch free XP.
Personally, I love a party of three or four. I don't really care if the players are long term friends or I've just met them. I do love questing with friends, but if there's another player hovering around, I'll always include them, for, even if I prefer a smaller quest party, I know what it feels like to be excluded.
I tend to grab another character I know IC and start building a party around that, usually with a sending, but if there are enough in the spire, I won't bother with the sending.

LuckyIt's still being tested.

Yes but there have been some positive looking results recently.
I also implemented a fairly flexible "monster loot" system that if used cleverly on quests, would make having more people give you more/better loot (from the monsters at the least) as quest encounters already scale number, and power of monsters automagically
-
I'd love to hear more.
Is it secret?: )
-
What do you want to know?
So far, it appears the new XP system is working on Nadas quest already, so it just needs rolling out for a few more quests and a little more testing to make sure it is actually working (You guy's don't want to lose XP, and the server doesn't need XP exploits, so it needs decent testing)
The monster loot system already exists in game and is used at the very least, by the Stormhorns Vault quest, though fairly sparingly and simply, it may well have been implemented elsewhere that I'm unaware of though as the system is fully functional and live.
It just means DMs can place down special loot chests which contain loot that specifies certain monsters can drop loot from said chest, they can base it on racial type, challenge rating, specific tag of creature, and some other stuff I forget, but it's pretty detailed.
It can also use chests for that specific area, or across the entire server.
So if we decide all goblins goblinoids should have a chance of dropping a mace of smash face +5, we can do that across the whole server with ease, as well as overriding that for specific places (say a place where the goblins are infernal, and so drop a mace of demon loving +10)
-
That sort of stuff, thanks.
Sounds great.I've realized that the new things you guys keep implementing are a major factor amongst many other things that keep me enjoying my time here and logging me back again and again.
