Sending and answering them
-
my fellow CoA players. I have come to see many complain that there is not enough sendings and that is why you do the lower level quests that are repeatable but I have seen the reverse. many of times have I had someone make a sending that has roughly 30 people who can do it and no one came, and yes I checked to see if it was 30 and it was.
this is sad, and I am starting to think that there is no true adventerer among you. I do not know if it is you fear death or loss of exp, but be a man about it and answer the callings. I could understand if all of you where on a quest but if I wait an hour in real life for 30 people to end a quest then something has gone wrong.
I would ask the DM's to remove these low level quests if that is what stops players from answering callings. -
The server messages indicating how many people logged in that can do the quest is (to my knowledge) only about who is within the level range requirements.
Some of these people may have already done the quest but are still part of the count.
Beyond that there are a multitude of IC and OOC reasons why people may not come running to a sending soliciting a quest that I can only speculate on.
-
Some people quest exclusively in groups. Some prefer roleplaying itself and digging into plots to the point where they don't have time for questing. Others just plainly don't have enough time for certain quests, it's already in their journal, etc etc.
-
As stated before there are probably several reasons why people don't show up to quests. Making a sending to a quest where 30+ people online can do it, and not having a single person show up happens to me daily and I waste time/money doing so, so I can sort of understand where the OP is coming from.
-
Even with 30 players online, only a protion of that will be free to quest, and only part of them will be in your level range. And out of those that fit, you need to get lucky and hope that said players both want to quest, and want to, or can go on that specific quest.
-
This happened to me in the past, and seems to happen still. Granted, there are quest preferences and the opposite as well. (Impossible to get a team for Lady Winter's quest despite it's THE AWESOME) But I usually try to figure out something to make my character more interesting.
(Or make a new one, but that's hardly my suggestion.) -
if you are doing low level quests, it might be good to mention this. you can be less specific about the quest, and might get more people.
others have suggested building a good team is important for success, and many people are part of factions in roleplaying, who… might not play nice with others outside of the faction as much, etc.
Being a team builder, who introduces new characters to each other, and helps connect those new persons for both 'quest trains' and rp and dm plot story. It's better if a few people share out the work of organizing, but in real life, people get paid good money to do 'organizing' and 'leading', because it takes a certain skill set, that not everyone possesses, to do it.
Do you hear the call? Perhaps you will find out what is missing to bring people together and move things forward.
If you do, will you share your secrets?good gaming to you.

To be more specific Ponies, when we say "There are 30 people online who can quest with you" it means that when you talk to the quest giver, it has a nice feature where it informs the player as to how many people online can in fact do the quest. Not just simply stating the server's current population. If a character isn't in the quests level range or has already done the quest, the feature won't include them in its count.
-
Actually I think it does include them if they have done it.
It's just the level range it looks at

There are numerous reasons why people don't want to do a quest, and it may not have anything to do with OOC fear. They may have done it, they have be doing some other quest, they may be exploring, they may be plotting, or maybe they just don't like it, or they don't feel like doing a quest.
It has happened to everyone since CoA started, and probably will continue as long as the server lasts. We'll just have to accept that people aren't going to show up for our stuff all the time.
