Lets Hear it For v4.5 and v5
-
Hey Guys,
Not to get over the top, but I for one am very very excited about the DMs recent announcement. It sounds like we are going to get all the awesome of v5 organically. During last night's event, I sent a tell to one of the Watch players telling him how jealous I was. Why? Because he is literally going to be in the Wrymguard from the ground up. How -awesome- is that from a story perspective? Just think about. That character has now lived through the days of Kreswell (sp?), served in the Watch during the horrors of the Second Shadovar War, and is now one of the founding members of the Wrymguard. -That- is what I would define as the Awesome. That is also what the entire DM team is giving us a chance to all experience through the organic growth from v4.5 into v5. So everyone who is lurking, Dive In Game! Everyone else, lets keep the awesome going.- Axiom

I read this posts and announcements and think to myself "Those stupid nobles, acting all high and mighty and proclaiming things."
I play too much CoA. Dx -
With the announcement of the status of v5 I am curious how much of the spoilers revealed in the past will still stay true in terms of what is envisoned for the new version?
-
Quite a bit. But some will depend on what happens.

Perhaps a new round of mass emails is due letting folks know the transition from v4 to v5 is starting. Could bring back some more old players

I don’t play that often anymore, but I’ve been on a few times in the last week and the numbers have been mid to high forties at prime time, seems we’re not a million miles away from NWN’s heyday which is a miraculous achievement given the current climate and really is a testament to the current DM Team and players that everything seems to be going really well. Tell your friends! CoA is not only alive, it's flourishing.

I've been DM'ing a weekly NWN campaign for the better part of a year now, and have often told my players about the amazing quality of play on CoA. We've all been involved in PWs to one degree or another in the past, whether players, dms, admins or builders & as I've told them, the commitment to excellence here is second to none. So I'm hopeful that they'll join during the transition & come along for the ride. So bummed I miss the Shadovar War & the return of Cormyr but I'm super excited about what lies ahead!

And I got so cheerleadery I forgot to mention how much I LOVE the smithing system. Crafting/Tradeskills can often become a drudgery of crafting the same limited recipes over and over again, but I'm actually making useful stuff and having a blast to boot. Seriously.. I'm probably addicted to smithing now to a point where I'm having more fun than I probably should be (as pointed out to me by the wandering Troll Chieftain… or as I like to think of him, the Ironsmithing Quality Control Tester who just wanted to inspect my handiwork. I think he said "room for improvement." Or "grrrrrr"... I really don't speak that much Troll.)
Anyway, cool stories aside, my main point is that I'm having an absolute blast here, and would say so to anyone who asked.

The numbers have been increasing which is outstanding. Good to hear so much positive feedback. Makes Coa worth it all.
