For ease of use and Inferno, stick with your DH or Wizard. Trust me. Don't be a Dr. Penguin. trollface

Yeah, it's tough but I've managed to solo most of Inferno's act 1 with my Barbarian and my gear is still complete shit. I'd imagine if I got some decent gear and played with my skills & patience, I could do fairly well. Getting 5/5 Nephalem Valors in a solo Inferno game is quite fun. :)

Found a well thought out post that summarizes the current shitty economy of this game. Its a great read. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5270834615

Act 4, Inferno, last quest.
Belial does not compare.
-
Kinda upset.. Blizzard said it would take "months" for anyone to get that far. Bah
-
It hasn't been an easy road. The curses that come out of his mouth.. wow :D they make -me- blush hehe
-
He's dead. 6/1/12, 12:29 p.m., Inferno mode cleared.
-
yayyy :D pwease? ^^
-
Yeah, me too. I'll <3 you forever for a 1k 1h sword or axe or sumpin' a barb can use. <3
-
Think its settled for me. From now, until torchlight 2 is released I'mma sell off my account on d2jsp for forum gold. Then use that to start up on Torchlight.
-
Unfortunately this wonderful thread sums up d3 for me, right now. I also have little hope it will change.
-
I am still really enjoying my time with the game. I'm not at all worried about changes never coming, either, because Blizzard changes their games so much that it's annoying sometimes.
I do agree, though, Barbs suck for Inferno.
-
I still play daily! I'm .. nerding it up to earn all the achievements.. which means leveling 2 of each class to 60 shudder but still :D
-
I think what happened here is people got caught up in the name of the game, and not how the actual game is… This is really...not a well done game.
Bobby: I'll check back with you soon. I need to take this call from Tryndamere.
Bashiok: The president of Riot games?
Bobby: Yep.
Bashiok: Ask him to give us advice on how to balance melee.
lmao win.
-
I told you it was going to disapoint.
-
I dunno, I was a hardcore d1 and d2 fan. I'm not disappointed at all.

Same here! I'm itching daily at work just to get home and get back to it. Even thinking about installing it on my work laptop so I can at least check the AH and stuff while I'm at work.

The game itself is awesome. No doubt. The atmosphere, the story, the gameplay, I loved it all. What it currently lacks, imo, is longevity. Basically it's about farming items over and over. It sucks. I've been told that is what the franchise is about. I recall loving d and d2. Probably ten years make a huge deal of difference in what kind of entertainment I'm looking for. The most fun I have had so far have been the discussions to teach noobs how to play in the italian forum, trying to make it a little bit more valid. That has been rewarding. Other than that it's just hours after hours farming, and hours after hours looking in the AH. Unfortunately this quote from that wonderful thread sums up why I dislike the current gameplay:
Bashiok: Daddy's playing Diablo III, son.
Boy: But you're just looking at a big list of items and numbers.
Bashiok: This is the auction house. Daddy's playing his Barbarian on Inferno mode.
It made me laugh. Then it made me sad.
Also, the famous "challenge" is something they screwed up big time. The game was supposed to be difficult. One of the biggest walls was that to comfortably handle an act you need items that drop in the successive act. That's kinda brilliant (speaking of inferno of course). It means at the beginning everyone will struggle, making for a huge challenge. Slowly, the best players will manage to advance, eventually reaching the next act, after great efforts. They will then be able to obtain more powerful items that they can progressively sell to the slightly inferior players, so that they too can advance to the next act. Rinse and repeat, for a process that would have kept us entertained for months.
Too bad ranged have such an easy time they can comfortably handle inferno with items that drop in hell. DH and wiz are farming inferno act 4 while us monks, and barbarians find ourselves forced to buy overpriced items in the AH, while the sellers (said dh and wiz) earn millions after millions.
I never thought I would have said such words, but …
I agree with B-rock.

No, thats not the problem. The problem is that the core group that made Diablo 1 and 2 down to even the amazing musical score…are no longer with Blizzard but now make Torchlight and Torchlight 2 (not to mention these games are a whole 2/3rds cheaper). Thats the problem. Right now Diablo 3 is just a name. Its a Korean MMO pasted over with Diablo references. No uniqueness so what about it. No nice niche items that cast skills that aren't even of your class. Just mundane items that only difference between them is that increased attack speed and main stat is good. Everything else posted on the item bad and don't matter. And the fact is this won't change because if they were to change it back to how Pre-diablo 2/Torchlight is, they would break the game's mechanics and playability. And…PvP, oh yeah...I forgot this game was to have that...maybe by the time people spend real money on these items. lawl. Seriously, I can't see how anyone really can back Blizzard for releasing this half assed shit. lol. Only bought the game to PvP and make money off of it, but its like they purposely made both economically and chronologically impossible for this year.

And this is only the inevitable in all things.
