[Closed]Law Enforcement: Adventuring Deputies
-
Delacrux’s Council of Law Suggestions
Adventurer Law Enforcement Powers:
Local law: Handled on a local level by Adventurer’s, Local Nobility, Local Clergy.(Generally PC’s).
-Instead of just any joe schmo deciding to pick up law enforcement powers, can potentially register with the Crown Guard as an Adventuring Deputy, granting lesser law enforcement powers. Jurisdiction outside of Arabel to neighboring townships(Tilverton, Immersea, Eveningstar, etc.) Can be stripped away, if found to be abused. Policed by itself, as there are no actual ranks(only defined and potentially upheld by other Adventuring Deputies) as well as the Crown.
-Individuals may apply as a solo Adventuring Deputy.
-Groups(PC Factions) can be formed and applied for as well, as long as all members are registered Adventuring Deputies and in good standing.
-Sponsorship can be offered to individuals/groups for special permissions, enforcement powers, etc.
-Not an actual DM Faction in any way, totally funded by and for adventuring PC’s.
-To ease the burden on Crown Officials, certain matters can be arbitrated and overseen by Adventuring Deputies up to a certain level of Offense.(Don’t want DMs having to respond to too much paperwork, if any, for minor shit.)
-Crown Officials may ask for Extradition upon capture of a suspect of any level of crime committed.
-Certain immunities(reasonable ones)to crimes whilst operating as an Adventuring Deputy(posing as a criminal to make an arrest, for instance.) in good standing.
-Obviously follow the lawbook of Arabel and surrounding territories.
-Policed by itself, the adventuring community, and Crown authorities.
[This is purely OOC at the moment, placeholder until I reformat and make it an official IC document. You can still weigh in oocly at this point. And yes, I know that Deputies were a thing in a different version. I'd like to see it implemented in a different and fun way while a Militia faction isn't around to be joined.]

@Puffy said in Enforcement of the law - Marshal's:
Adventurers granted the ability to enforce the law will be judged per a case by case basis, titles and formalities should not be detailed in a lawbook.

Until such a time as the Queen demands an official organization to be empowered with law enforcement no law is needed.
File is closed.

//closing this. We don't have a militia, and no plans for one in the immediate future. Certain NPCs and adventurers will handle this without the need for a special consideration//
