Case file: Eveningstar, Ms. Clark
-
Late in the evening, Sir Myrkyr made a sending about a murder of a citizen of Eveningstar. An older woman named Ms. Clark, a gossip of the town. Died behind the Lonesome Tankard decapitated with several stab wounds.
From the look of it, she stumbled into them while checking on the stables. Tracks lead from around the outskirts of Eveningstar and appeared to be coated in a acidic ichor. The ichor seems to come from the caverns below Eveningstar, which connect to another cavern just outside the Red forest.
There was a sighting of a subject fleeing into the Stormhorns, the militia couldn't identify them. Unfortunately, that's all I got.
The Greywatch will keep an eye on it for a bit, but there isn't much to go on.

If you are able councillor i would have you show me these things first hand that i might determine the threat within the Bishopric as well be better placed to aid for the city itself.

Councilor Aland,
I can offer the assistance of one of my crows if you wish, or perhaps an ally good at tracking? We have plentiful resources in the North.

If the assaulter had ooze to assist them, it is most odd that they did not use it to remove the body or assault the victim. Several stab wounds and decapitation is excessive damage for an elderly woman, perhaps the assaulters were interrupted before they could finish what they started?
- Ooze, possible for spellcasters to summon using conjuration. Also occurs naturally in caverns, such as the cave system beneath Eveningstar.
- Decapitation, very unnecessary display of violence. Was it one single sweep of a large blade, or several smaller hackings by daggers?
- Stab wounds, what size were the wounds let by the stabbing? Smaller wounds hints towards a smaller weapon being used, rather than a large weapon. Larger ones would hint towards large weapons.
If there were no bludgeoning damage, we can rule out any blunt weapons.
If there were no tiny puncturing damages, we can rule out any thin piercing weapons.
If there were small to medium wide but thin damages, then the murder weapon could have been a dagger or a shorts word.
If here were medium to large damages wide but thin, then the murder weapon could have been a longsword, greatsword, or bastardsword.Judging from the brief description, we are speaking of someone with a blade for weapon. Or, two assaulters depending on the tracks left behind. No commoner would chose to hide in the Storm Horns, it would certainly spell their doom. Meaning the assaulter must have been confident enough to believe they can survive battling undead, and the creatures that roams the Mountains.

I've a more detailed list of injuries locked in the Barrack files, for the sake of the investigation I've kept the matter purposefully vague. I'm willing to share more on the findings personally, just stop by the barracks.

Excellent, I am more than happy to assist.
