Report: Attemped Murder and Arson in Eveningstar

Yesterday I left the barracks to see smoke rising from Eveningstar.
I arrived to find Calatha, Jazdia, Talia and a member of the Precept by the Treeline near the House of Morning, The trees had a hole in them which started the fire and it was said it was caused by a beam of light from the tower of the temple which had almost struck Jazdia.
Further questioning placed Talia alone on the roof when this occured, and the wood near the brazier on the roof was scorched as if the beam came from near there.
Jazdia questioned some of the villagers as to what they saw, and it was reported that what appeared to be a Knight was seen on the roof just before the beam and appeared to be doing something with a sword, either polishing it or blessing it.
Shortly after there was another commotion in the village, it was reported that someone had fallen into the river and been swept away.
I made a sending calling for a search party and Jazdia and Talia came, Jazdia tried to boat us down the river but it didn't go so well, we floated down and were fished out by Calatha.
She said she had found out how the attack had been carried out and produced a Mithril Bastard Sword that could fire beams of light, Talia blurted out it was Dextars sword.
Calatha mentioned she had seen a figure near the river drop something into it, Noticing the glint she jumped in to get it out but was swept away.
It is known that Dextar gave his sword to Talia when she asked for his weapon after he broke his oath to Lathander, and when he was questioned by myself earlier said it was not returned to him.
With all the facts it seems certain that Talia was responsible for this.
As this occured in Eveningstar I suggest the Order of the Aster deal with this harshly as innocents were burned in the fire and it would have been catastrophic if it had spread

I assure you Councellor the Aster are taking this incident very seriously. I will keep you informed.

Dex has also reported that Talia asked him to attempt to remove a celestial blooded new member of the order. He says he refused as it sounded preposterous.

For clarity, wasn't this Talia once part of the Scarlet Syndicate, the same group that the abberant cultists were part of?

Yes. She was.
She claims she left them when they hired Borovar and Jax as they began focussing on savagery.
Rumours however claim she may still be a Scarlet and pretended to leave to spy for them
