Sooo I know it'd be a Team Vote on champ, but if Ulric leaves Crimson after Malak talks and goes official clergy. Any chance of Divine Champ since Ulrics done a ton of Talos stuff, like pretty much sacrificed Widowmaker and entire camp of orcs to Talos and took down a fair few people and bled em for TalosCNavitaToday at 11:16 AM
I'll bring it up.
More likely than not if you do that, OC, you'd have to go further for Divine Champion.VerkToday at 11:16 AM
Yeah just wasn't sure, tbh this situations a mess lol
Like at first puffy tells me to try and convert Crimson lady then later on its decided that wouldn;t happen so i kinda have to pick Crimson Guard or OCCNavitaToday at 11:18 AM
Yes it's mixed signals, and we did fuck that up.I believe he's due something big, he's mulling over leaving CG for Talos which is probably best. I've put up three options.
-
Right, I'm not IG much so I probably don't know enough of Ulric to vote, so here's what I expect from a Divine Champion of Talos.
He's the god of destruction and storm, and he demands his followers to spread destruction where they pass. He is not the god of conflict, not the god of war, no the god of intrigue but destruction (and storm).
Commonfolk should fear Talos, as well as talossan. A good example of talossan should be someone hunted down by any lawful/good faction simply because of the sheer amount of chaos he caused throughout the city. A Talossan would bully out people to worship Talos out of might...
If he does this kind of things just let me know and I would vote 'yes'.
-
He's not evil, I've told him that I'm against an evil god not having an evil DC and vice versa for a good-aligned god and non-good DCs.
I did, however, propose in Discord if we granted DC, we'd have to give him a quest. If he gets shifted to CE during it then he'd earned it, but it'd still be a moral choice of the character.
At this point I think 100% Official Clergy. But he has to leave the Crimson Guard.
-
Official Clergy, leave Crimsons. Not Divine Champ unless he gets more aggressive and evil and pushes some real change that affects everyone.
-
No to all.
Official Clergy
Does the deity have a church in the setting?- They can join the Church and get relative NPC backing of said church.
They don't have a church?
- They cannot be official clergy without first finding a way to bring the church into the setting (Note that the very act of earning the church in the setting will likely mean that character is Official Clergy of it)
--- If Ulric wants to be OC then he needs to stop fiddling around with some mercenary unit and focus on representing Talos making Gondegal think he's worth official recognition. Right now all his actions are done by the Crimson Guard member who happens to worship Talos. Remember that OC gives legal protections and only churches approved by Gondegal will get official status and therefore be eligible for Official Clergy
Life is a combination of random effects and chaos, so grab what you can when you can, because Talos may take you to the afterlife at any moment. Preach the might of Talos, and always warn others of the forces only Talos can command – the fury of all Faerun. Walk unafraid in storms, forest fires, earthquakes, and other disasters, for the power of Talos protects you. Do so publicly whenever possible, so that others see that only Talos can protect them. Make others fear Talos by showing the destruction he and his servants can cause. To avoid tasting his fury, pray to him energetically and tell all folk taht such observations – and only such observations – can protect them from the furies of gales, hailstorms, winds, floods, droughts, blizzards, hurricanes, and other natural dooms. Hurl such forces at one’s foes if Talos deems a place or a person worth defending. One cannot afford to ignore Talos, but must box down and worship him. Proclaim this message to all and show everyone the destruction event the slightest of the servants of Talos can cause.
Divine Champion
- The only mechanical requirement that is still enforced is alignment. If he want to be a DC then he needs to start acting CE and earn the alignment shift through IC actions. He is not doing enough CE that I have seen.
Addition: And if you are thinking DC then why not be CE at creation and RP that at creation?

It seems like the road he's taking (leaving the Crimson) and starting to consider his faith as a motivation driver is what's expected from every single cleric from day 1, not something to be awarded.
So far I'm "NO" to all just like Prof.
-
3-3 as of this post then.
-
Alright I'm convinced. Changing my vote to No. But Verk will want clear direction how to do OC, he won't be happy.
-
I'll have an npc meet him.
-
I'll mark it as rejected, majority in favor of no reward.

Verk has earned OC before. What needs to be impressed upon him is what it means to be OC of Talos. The option for heresy is wide open so if he can come up with a more palpable version of Talos then who knows.
Start here Heresy and You
I'll talk to him and we'll go from there.
