Spell descriptions are... weird

level 0:
Larloch's Minor Drain:
"Does 1d4+1 dmg to the target, healing the caster for the same.
obv a necromancy spell
I think SF/GSF increases the amount of damage dealtDisrupt Undead
"This spell does 1d6/2 per caster level of positive energy damage to undead.
It only works on undead.
It is probably getting nerfed soon.Magical Beast:
"Bad StrrefLevel 1:
Spider climb:
"Grants +20 to climb checks. Transmutation"
Should probably mention duration too.Toad Leap:
"Grants +20 to jump checks. Transmutation."
Should probably mention duration too.Wall of Smoke:
"Grants target 15% concealment. Transmutation."
Should probably mention duration too.Level 2:
Level 3:
Dark Bolt:
"(1d4 cold + 1d4 magic damage)/2, evil only spell. Evocation. Fortitude save versus being immobilized for one round per level. ((Needs Testing))"
I can try to test this. >.>Shatter:
"Save versus Sonic - I think that's a will save"
-> I'll test this and update the post laterLevel 4:
Clarion call:
"The call of the righteous horn summon the goodly of heart to the battlefield, rending through evil's ranks and letting that pure cry uplift the heroic to heaven..
1d6 sonic damage attack in a large radius around th caster. Good Aligned Only can cast this. Evocation. Fortitude to save. Failure stuns for 1d2 rounds."
The description sorta implies that it would hurt evil, but maybe not good? I'll test this later.Lesser Premonition:
"I think this is a turn per level spell. If it is not, let Spiffy know so he can bash his head into the wall and edit it."
-> I'll try to test this as well.level 5:
Baleful Polymorph
"Fortitude save I think? Someone tell me if they reach level 9 and use this on Khamal" -
excuse me, this is art

Laziness isn't art, get to work.

can you not see the depth of my dedication in this work puffy
a talented man forced into drudgery filled labor

You decided to bring this upon yourself, not my fault you're a masochist.

The magical beast cantrip has a sub-selection (like, say, protection from alignment) but there's only one option, and that's Acid Fog. Acid Fog happens to be a level 6 spell, the highest I can currently cast. Will test again with a lower level character to see if they get a different spell. It also shows as if I could cast it as many times as I can cast my 6th level spells (3) and when I cast another sixth level spell the uses went down to 2.
In any case, attempting to cast it gives a message: "no uses or preparations left for that spell"Offensive cantrips (at least acid splash and disrupt undead) drained my spells per day (sorcerer), I don't think that's intended.
Disrupt Undead dealt 11, 22, and 26 dmg. 1d6/2 levels is probably the damage. It feels really strong for a cantrip.
Toad Leap could and spider climb don't give any sort of buff icons to you, which is a bit annoying, since you don't know when they run out. Gave me +40 on the jump, though, not +20. Could be because of caster level, 12
The spell lasted for 5 minutes (I think that's 5 turns? The duration is probably either set, at 5 turns, or 1 turn per 2 levels, max 5. Or something.)Baleful Polymorph was a fortitude save.
Shatter is a reflex save, not a will save.
Lesser premonition lasts 1 minute (or turn) per level, as it should, so no @SpiffyMeister headbashing is required.
Larloch's Lesser living Bomb makes the undead glow, but the glow lasted no longer than 6 seconds.
The explosion stayed primed for at least 7 minutes, though.Beltyn's Burning Blood should mention that target gets a fortitude save EVERY ROUND to negate damage AND slow for that round. (or it could be a bug and needs to be fixed?)
Wall of Smoke has duration at least 1 hour per level, probably more. (description does not mention duration)
... On an unrelated note, the summoned Shadow Fiend (from Shadow Conjuration and Lesser Shadow Conjuration) is extremely lackluster, having -2 ab, 55hp, and ac 20. (this was without any spell focus feats)
-
Blistering radiance doesn't seem to do anything.
Larloch's Lesser Living Bomb is pretty powerful, and lasts very long. Not sure how long, but probably hours per level or 24h.
The glow definitely needs to be there so that other players can realize that something is amiss. -
If it's an actual bug, please do a bug report following the correct format for each issue.
If it's to complain about Spiffy's use of humor in his descriptions ... well .. build a bridge and get over it.
Thanks!

Sure! I figured that since all these issues are related to the new spells, it might be easier to keep them in the same thread, but I'll make new one for each issue.
-
It is easier to keep up with the individual issues if they're not buried under tons of comments.

It's a bug if the description is incorrect. We either fix the discussion or the spell.
