Most Depressing Movie/Game Endings
-
In high praise of Christopher Nolan
Inception
Batman begins
Dark Knight
-
Inception didn't have a depressing ending at all. Its left ambiguous. It was either a happy ending or a sad one.
Batman Begins didn't really have a sad ending at all. The Dark Knight sort of did, but not really.
-
Requiem for a Dream. What an oppresively bleak movie. I even know that was the point of the movie when I watched it, but still… Damn.
-
one more to be added
Eturnal sunshine of the spotless mind.
thats a sad movie. "f"ed up and sad
-
Big Fish, because by the time they reconciled it was already too late…

Batman doesnt get the girl. How is that not sad?
Dark knight, also not a happy ending by far.
Inception… a GOOD ending, though still... well...
-
Doesn't get a girl?
he has Catwomen.
who wouldn't want that?
-
You're confusing "an ending that is not happy" with "the most unhappy ending ever", none of these qualify in the slightest bit is my point. You could possibly argue Dark Knight, but its a giant stretch.

I thought Return of the King was depressing for you because of Bloom's character going away.
Same thing applies to At World's End.
-
Any Bloom movie that ends.

Have you SEEN Sweeney Todd Demon Barber of Fleet Street? Or maybe read it or know the ending? It's sad!
-
Sweeney Todd
The Mist
The Orphanage
The Pan's Labirinth [the movie is very sad, and the ending is sad as well… even is she lives happy forever after]
-
-
City of Angels :(
-
Reservoir dogs and Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead ended up pretty sad too, imo.
-
Lord of the Flies
A few of the kids were saved, but the story in general is sad because of the kids that died, the way they died, and the symbolism. Oh the humanity.
I can't really think of any other GOOD sad ending movies that haven't been listed because most of todays sad ending movies are SHIT because they only circle back to where they started from.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Gaius Julius Caesar.
Ok so I was watching a 2 part TV movie type of deal on the history channel. I have never studied or looked up the story of Julius Caesar but thought Brutus stabbed him in the back(something like that). Anyway after watching the senate stabbing the shit out of Caesar and reading the text about what happened in the aftermath all I could think was: “God damn thats a fucking horrible story, people swallowing burning embers, civil war, kids murdered, etc!â€
