Reminder about DM's Playing Characters and YOU BEING BANNED

I'm going to politely, but forcefully remind players of something.
DMs are DMs. When we log in as a DM or an NPC, then that's what we're doing. We work hard to make this server fun.
Sometimes, we want to log in as a player. We make a player account with a different name from our DM account. We inform the other DMs this is our player account. Many of us remove our access to the DM forums while we enjoy playing a character.
We do this because people react differently when they think you're a DM. They also may think you got special perks, free loot, or extra DM attention because you're a DM. We do not give this, DM PCs are treated exactly like other PCs.
However, once word comes out that a PC is played by a DM, that character is ruined for us and the DM usually has to give it up. Sometimes players accuse a successful PC of being a DM, usually to indicate that they were successful because they are a DM not because they were successful and worked hard at it. Often, this is a slight against the entire DM team because it implies we cheat with our characters despite having many rules against this that we follow.
So a reminder–one big fat reminder before the ban hammer drops--anyone trying to figure out who a DM PC is, or telling others that a PC is played by a DM, or in any way shape or form engaging in this kind of crap will be banned from the server. I've done it before, I will do it again. If you can't have the common decency to let us play on our own server and enjoy ourselves without being harassed, you don't belong here.
Finally, if you know someone doing this, please let us know. If you know someone is a DM playing a PC, just shut up about it and let them play. If you don't they'll probably have to give up their character–and that isn't fair to them.

I don't normally add to announcements not made by myself, but I feel it's something that must be said seeing as how here lately I've been playing as a PC since I've been gone for so long..
Sometimes griefers show up, sometimes bugs happen, sometimes things happen to destroy the immersion for everyone. If that's the case, and you know a DM is playing as a PC, please do not send tells to that DM's PC account asking for help. The best way to go about doing that is to report it on the forum. We check the forums quite a bit, even when we're playing as PC's, but there's nothing more frustrating than being bugged when you're trying to just be a player.
We respect all of our players a lot. In fact, we probably worship you all because you make this place the best server that exists. However, there comes a time when we have to simply play like the rest of you. We are unpaid slaves of this place, without us this place wouldn't be the sweet spot it is. The same thing goes for you all, this place would be -nothing- without you guys. That being said, we still need our free time to enjoy the server as you all do. Please always keep that in mind, and if you know our identities, please keep it quiet. We don't just ask this of you, we beg it. We hate having to ban people for this kind of thing, but it will be done. It has been done, sadly, and it will continue to happen if this request isn't granted.
