Textures : Opinion Wanted !!
-
points up did you change the pine tree texture?
-
:cry:
Ok this is the not so subtle approach!
So you were close loonayaa, I replaced the whole dang tree!
-
Been awhile since I've had the urge to mess with NWN. So here goes.
This may look dark, looks better IG.
I couldn't stand the orange walls anymore, or that door.
-
This might take awhile because everytime I start, I learn something new and start over. I'm replacing the fort wood walls.
-
90% done.
-
My -god-, this is gorgeous work.
-
Lets hire him.
-
OH!!!! OH!!!!
Can you make skyboxes work!?!?!?!?!?
-
sexy
-
Holy crap, that's awesome.
-
It looks really wicked. I used to use this override. The main reason I stopped is grass-related… While long grass in itself is really a better look than standard, it gets incredibly difficult to make placeable decorations without them being buried in the green especially in rural township areas. So that would be my constructive criticism: to make the grass have patches of lower length. But otherwise this is great, like having a whole new tileset.

H,
Couple of simple fixes to that:
1. Open the ttr01.set file with notepad, 2nd paragraph down you'll see this section:[GRASS]
Grass=1
GrassTextureName=toro_drygrass01
Density=4.000
Height=1.000
AmbientRed=0.600
AmbientGreen=0.400
AmbientBlue=0.300
DiffuseRed=0.600
DiffuseGreen=0.400
DiffuseBlue=0.300Change the height and density to your hearts desire. Try density 4.500 and height 0.700
Well you get the idea….
Save your changes. that's it.2. You could just delete the line that says:
GrassTextureName=toro_drygrass01
This will result in a combo, my dead grass on the ground, Bioware's 3d grass which is less obtrusive.3. Disable grass in the video section of your GUI
4. While I'm not a builder, I had a similar problem with not being able to find loot bags. So I made the loot bags bigger on my end.
Unfortunately you can't really make long and short patches and even if you could, it's all random placement. If you're really determined to have patches with no grass, that would require a change to the wok file of that particular tile.

Oh, I see. Well, then, the override looks just great as is!
-
Toro!!! Can you make skyboxes too?
-
Matriarch,
I've never looked at them. I'm assuming you're using the camera hak and seeing some empty spaces when you look up ? It's one of those annoyances. Most skyboxes were made not taking that camera hak into account. In stock NWN, you can't pan up that high.
If it's something else, do tell.
I have a couple of old projects I want to update but when I'm done with this, I'll take a quick gander. Mind you, anything with animations is over my head. I'm pretty novice at all this. -
nah its not hte camera hak. Just making skyboxes from scratch. Sending you details via pm.
-
Toro, is there a link to these overrides?
-
i must have them, post link!
-
Give me about another week or so for a complete version. Worry not, i'll post a link here also.

Done:
