Discussion - religious freedom
-
Dear members of the Crown Guard,
It was with a heavy heart that my hard work uncovered a traitor; it would have of course been preferable not to have had one in the first place... I do however remain gleeful that I was the one who discovered him and that we were the ones who punished him. I hope and believe that we struck before severe damage was done to our war effort. A great victory for the Crown Guard.
I must now raise a question - should we consider temporary suspension of the legality of the Black Chalice religion?
The religion is heavily tied to Tilverton and even more so to Obyn, who selects the priests himself. It is a twisted version of the Divine Right which is solely aimed at instilling fear and securing control of the masses for Obyn and his supporters.
I would propose holding a discussion among the nobility of the Crown Guard with a view of temporarily banning the Black Chalice as well as removing all titles, positions, and ranks from followers of this religion until the war has come to it’s likely end - our victory. After which time, religious scholars can discuss the merits of keeping the ban in place or allowing worship once more.
Importantly, I do not believe this will negatively impact upon any member of the Arabel nobility.
I hope you will contemplate this request seriously, for it is a grave matter should any more of our forces be found to have a direct link with those among the enemy.

Crown Guard -
Please present all evidence available of the nature of the Black Chalice faith. We are all aware of the rumours which circulate, however if we're to take any definitive stand it will be founded on robust evidence.
Sir Townsend.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for listening to my humble missive.
I think better to hear from the experts. I have therefore requested the presence of those in the Transcendence - they performed the role of expert witness at Skull Volkov’s trial.
I expect they will write you directly but I will happily perform the role of middleman if not.
Kindest regards,
Ash -
Sir,
Please see copy of a letter from Ser Mordecai of House Cormaeril, who is the first willing to come in and discuss this matter.
@Seter said in Information Shared: Operation Pitfall:

You interview him and collate his findings. Present them here for review.
