Investigation: The Lady
-
The Lady is a spirit that seems to hold some sway over the King
Statues honouring her can be found in the Shrine of Malar and Temple of Tymora.
The druidess Ursula says it is believed The Lady was a queen who failed her lands and people in some way and became a spirit out of pennance.
It is likely more can be found out in the ruins of Tethgard , From my understanding items connected to the ruins are needed to pass the doors.
I will offer rewards for those who bring the items to us

After receiving the keys to the ancient location from Izereth, I gathered a large group of adventurers and took off, alongside Dominic and Adelaide. We fought our way through the dangerous Hullack Forest, and Dominic found the entrance to Tethgard.
From Izereths journal, I knew she had weakened the seal, using a human sacrifice. So I went there, hoping to undo the damage, and perhaps find answers. We used the keys, seeing ancient netherese ruins as we went deeper and deeper, eventually reaching her holy sanctum. I entered a portal, with Unicorn and Nathan, two good hearted druids. We found a servant of The Lady, who spoke of how weak the seal now was, and that it needed sacrifice, if it was to continue hinder chaos from spreading.
And so, I bowed before it, and in admiration of our beloved King, offered my blood to The Lady. So too did Unicorn and Nathan. We now stand with King Matrim, as guardians of Tethgard, and a final deed to help Izereth find redemption in death, has been done.

From what has been discovered it seems the Lady was a Netherese ruler of Tethgard whose civilisation tapped into Limbo and the being who became the Lady willingly sacrificed herself to seal the tear.
The ruins also likely predate Karsus Folly as a voice can be heard singing a song
Oh sing for me Xanthous, Oh sing for me man of gold, Oh sing for me Xanthous, Oh sing for me behind your gilded bars, Oh sing for me Xanthous, Sing for me lover of Karsus, Sing for me man of a thousand faces
Inside the ruins is a cave painting of a Slaad enveloping the world, Likely what others believe would happen if the seal hadn't been formed or was broken.
Another painting shows people on a bridge of stars, The people seemed to be dancing, Likely some great achievement they achieved.
In the main chamber were statues of women with their wrists slit and what seemed to be magical energy leaking from it and murals on ruins
One shows a floating city above the forests and the Blacksand family crest,
The other was conjuration runes in Netherese but faded as if someone was trying to hide their purpose
Finally was a statue of the lady with chains straining at conjuration runes, Likely the runes of the seal
There is also a portal that goes to the Ladys court where a servant of hers seeks people to pledge to her and offer blood and essence to her to strengthen the seal and says a boon will be bestowed upon those that do
I expect the King did such whilst he was still wanted by Gondegal and before he was King

To my fellow guardsmen,
As I can understand there is doubt regarding the entity known as The Lady, I shall put to paper what I can. This information is for the eyes of the Crownguard only. If it is passed on outside those in Teal, I shall personally see it as treachery to the Realm and willfully endangering the Kingdom, and I -will- act accordingly. The ruins of Tethgard date back to the heigh of The Netherese. We believe it was either an outpost, or a crashed flying city. Inside the ruins, evidence came to light of some arcanists having opened a Gateway to the plane of Chaos itself. At some point, something went terribly wrong. Perhaps it was the same occurrence that made the flying cities fall, or perhaps it occurred shortly after. To this we can only speculate. But the Gateways and the seal holding it under control was breached, and chaos spread out.
The Lady was either the Queen of Tethgard, or a high ranking noble at the time. From what we uncovered, she ensured that the common folk under her charge could flee, while She used her magic, and her own soul, to strengthen the Ward, and to ensure that the force of Chaos did not manage to spill into our realm. She is a being of good intentions, who conducted the most noble of sacrifices, to protect the land and the people in her charge.
She is now bound to the place, holding up the seal. She and The Seal is the ONLY thing keeping the plane of chaos from entering ours. I found documents and stories to suggest that a year or so ago, the seal was weakened, and Slaad in vast numbers spilled into our realm.
Our King serves The Lady and is part of what keeps the Seal from breaking once more. And now I too have done the same. It is not a bargain for power. Suggesting otherwise is to insult the sacrifice of those who have understood the danger of the Seal breaking, have made the necessary sacrifice to protect the realms of men It should be admired, not poisoned by deceitful tongues. It is binding yourself to the Seal, to keep the Realm safe.Izereth uncovered the way to reach The Lady. And used that knowledge to empower herself, by weakening the Seal, and drawing upon the power of Pure Chaos. She plotted all of this, while protected by the red colors of the Cabal. Furthermore, Treth used the knowledge shared between them to reach the seal as well.
How to reach the Lady and The Seal, is documented in her story, which was passed to me, in my role as a historian and storyteller.
I used the story and knowledge to Reach the Seal, and unlike Izereth, to strengthen it. I brought two druids, hoping they too would help in doing what had to be done. They were not forced but did this willingly. Others were not willing to take on this heavy burden. I cannot hold others to the height of my burden as a noble.I now stand guard of the Seal and of Tethgard. I have sacrificed more than any can imagine, to ensure chaos does not once more spill into the Kingdom.
I hope this shall suffice as reason enough, why the story of Izereth in its full context, shall never find its way into the hands of another. It shall never reach the members of the Precept Arcanum.
This is the last I shall speak of what was found. Keeping Tethgard protected and shrouded in secrecy is henceforth a burden placed upon the Crownguard.
Further investigation into its secrets are henceforth forbidden. If you wish to learn more regarding The Lady, you may contact me in person. If any of this information finds its way outside our ranks, I will find you guilty of treason against the Crown. Others who have not taken on the burden itself, have sworn to protect its secrets alongside I. I -will- find out if this is distributed.

One cannot have two masters Miss Florent
You can't pledge your blood and being to a pagan spirit and still claim you serve the Crown.
The fact you wish to now threaten to incorrectly charge people with treason if knowledge of the seal gets out and try and forbid investigation into matters regarding the spirit show where your loyalties actually lie and they aren't to the Crown
I would suggest you resign from the Crown Guard as you now serve the Spirit and bear the mark on your arm.

I serve the land, and The Crown at their pleasure, Dominic.
If the Crown deem my actions unworthy of further service within the Crownguard, then it is their decision to make. Not for a commoner with high ambitions.Sabriel Florent

When the term, 'one cannot have two masters,' comes into play, I rightly point out that you are a Helmite and this doctrine may conflict with service to their Majesties.
Are you a Helmite, or a Kingsman, Dominic?
As you can see, you can be both, and I ashamed I have to point that out to morons. The Lady is the patron of our king, and while we may be suspicious of it, we cannot exactly hold ourselves to higher standards than our monarchs in this regard. If the King did not wish others to make bargains with his patron, he'd have standing orders to the effect of such.

There are many reasons to suspect the nature of the Spirit and its powers.
When Izereth tampered with the seal and Treth fixed it with hellish power the King asked others to offer blood to strengthen the Lady and suggested if people didn't he would have to bring condemned criminals to sacrifice to the Lady.

Dominic,
That is enough! It is the duty of the Nobility to question their Royal Highnesses if they think they are being led astray. It is not a priviledge afforded a pleb.
What are you trying to accomplish, discrediting our King in such a way? Do you know better than your King? You are to obey and serve. That is your role. Swing your sword in the direction The Crown and the nobles point you, and stop trying to think for yourself. It is clearly hurting your head, and making you spew poison.SF

I am not trying to discredit the King. I am stating what I saw after the Slaad invasion
I am suspicious of the nature of a Spirit that seemingly requires blood and human sacrifice to empower it.
I also question if the Lady is a ruler that sacrificed themselves to form the seal, as the statue close to the portal to her court has a statue of what is presumably her human form with chains that seem to be straining as if she was unwilling and is now trying to break free
